  1. Allir, was best on the ground last week.Furthermore, Daw is showing something along with Panos did Ok in the pre season. However, evenI cannot get it right all the time especially with regards to Serhat.Ability was there and what we watch is talent and he had plenty.Problem is attitude. As Neeld said a couple of week's ago - they all have talent that play in this comp -- it is their attitude towards development and hard work. I cannot judge that from the boundary line.Furthermore, re Jack Viney, I think he is a beauty and will be great for us but if you look at what has been produced this championship Viney is not inthe best 10 going around. A name virtually not mentioned is Taylor Garner whom will nearly be An All -Australian. Will be a great winger. Will play AFL seniors next year barring injury. Based on games played and taking into account injuries,my best 25 are, and not in any order are: O'Rourke, Macrae, Vlastuin, Jaksch, Viney, Daniher, Plowman and maybe Temay.---,Under17 possability Josh Kelly ..Vic Metro Whitfield,Garner, Wines, Membrey, Stringer -, possible Under17-Crouch- Vic Country Garlett,Lynch, consideration to Simpson, Shaw, Paparone,,-- Martin, Hogan possible Under 17's).---WA Toumpas,Colquhoun,McDonough,Menzel,Grundy.,Mayes--SA. Lonergan- Tas, Anderson- NT will also be considered early. As you can see I have named 30 odd players whom I believe will form the majority of the top 25. We will just have to wait till November to see whom do get picked up and what position.
  2. Thanks for tracking this article down and sharing it with us.
  3. If Jack Martin was in this years draft and if there was no Father/ Son picks- Martin would go 2 in my opinion.Daniher was the standout. Viney due to lack of match practice would go around the 13 pick. The other standouts were Billings ( under-age)and O'Rourke. However, this years draft is full of class and is deep. Daniher is the best father/ son pick up since Ablett. Far better than Hawkins. Next years draft will be even better due to the many outstanding under age players whom played in this carnival. It is my belief that we will get Viney as our second round pick as Gold Coast will place Daniher as their first pick, GWS will go for Grundy. Just got home from the game and was somewhat disappointed in the way Whitfield has gone the last two rounds,I believe he will slip in the pickings for this draft. Not in order- but my top 5 are: Daniher- Grundy- O'Rourke, Billings, Martin, Boyd. The last 3 are underage but maybe able to be be drafted under current rules.Wines, is a late first round or early second round pick IMO.After watching the tapes, I will give you my top 20 but not in any order as a lot of work still needs doing before draft time.
  4. He is not an elite grade yet. Maybe in a couple of years time if he continues to progress.
  5. Great to see Allir BOG & Ives one of the best last match.
  6. Changed his name to Jonathon Patton by deed poll.Looks good to me.Have a look tomorrow at a young player whom reminds me of Temel ,his name is Tom Boyd, a 199, 94 kl, trimmed down from 103, CHF, or FF whom is just 16, born 22/08/95. He will make up for Temel.Boyd is a beauty.
  7. I totally agree with you for the first time ever. And by the way, he will play this Wednesday and show why he is worth a Pick as No.1,2 or 3. He is a beauty .
  8. Oli Wines, a close friend of the Viney's is the closest to Martin type in this draft. however, Martin maybe a longer kick.Wines will go top 15 IMO, may go earlier.
  9. Fair points that you make WJ,however we seem to have spat the dummy like we have for many years, culture has to change, from the Scorps through to the Dees. Look at Collingwood, their list and the players brought in this year. They have grabbed their opportunity ours haven't IMO.
  10. Stick with it son, I am getting a hell of a belting This week. need to get back to concentrating or I will be GAWN. Also, HT is catching me inthe tipping. With this crap of keepers etc. coaches not trying, feel like tanking myself.
  11. Well said - Gunston on the bench, maybe an oversight, however, we need to have some system to make sure this does not happen. It affects the whole league. We need to say thank you to RR for staying on. But Jackliveshere here needs to play fair dinkum to the end or JA needs to take over and play it as he is coach.By the way, HT, you are catching me in the tipping comp- starting to worry me.
  12. Looks lke your bump has knocked over on of our coaches or he/ she has given up.Jackliveshere did not pick his team This left Gunston on the bench.Gunston ended up kicking 3 Goals. I think we need to work out rules to stop coaches just not doing there job -,to me this is more important than ruddy how many keepers .I think we need a committee to work out rues before we start next year.
  13. Agree with you on both Viney, Wines and Toumpass whom was carrying an injury as well .Gartlett is good but I would take the others before him.
  14. We will pick him as he is a gun.I think he is No.1 if we actually had to take him.I have no doubt he is the best going around but there are plenty of quality mids to pick from.Going to be a very interesting draft,
  15. Talking about picks in the 50 's what about Tom McDonald- will turn out a beauty.
  16. Love to see the speed and the skills of the "forgotten man" - Evans.
  17. As seen with G/C and the Giants, any team requires experience around them.We will look closely over the next 11 weeks, whom should we let go as well as look at other lists and see whom we can gain.As other posts have already stated, I feel, the main ones that look like leaving us, are: Bartram, Bate or Dunn, , Bennell,Fitz, Green whom will gain a role in our footy dept, JMac,Morton may be traded along with Petterd, Sylvia whilst Spencer will have to start playing well to be kept.Lawrence is the only rookie,I feel we will let go. I agree with others that experienced players will be looked at including, Stevens, Symes from Adelaide, and other fringe players whom we feel that will meet our requirements. In the VFL, I think Lockwood from Willie and Dwyer from Port and the current CHF,Khan Haretuku, born 19/10/89 ,199,101 kls- from Frankston whom was a rookie at St Kilda are worth a strong look at.We will definitely add experience and may pick only 4 including Viney from the Under 18's draft.
  18. Thank you JA - I will follow what OMR states.. Again - sorry to bother you.
  19. I think I understand what your getting at- but some champions have had deep behaviour issues- Nicholls, Tuddy, Carman, Croswell, Kekovitch just to name a few..I wouldn't mind if we picked a couple that turn out like any of them.
  20. Thanks JA, I think I understand - what the rules for next year's draft will be - we will be able to retain 2 picks along with two rookies, 1991,1992 or 1993. Have I got it right. I am a little thick in the scone but don't let that none to others.Getting old , suffering a little from dementia - many thanks once again. If I am wrong just let me know how many players I Need to keep and under what conditions please- I promise,I will not go overseas next year during our season.Regards.
  21. What rules- asked the question as well as requested ' What the hell will be going on next year and beyond , on Ultimate footy message so we can structure our list/s accordingly. If it is done now- we have nearly half the year to react. If not, I deem it is unfair as well as unsatisfactory to implement for next year especially as some coaches have up to 6 players within the range of 1990,1991,1992,1993 players already on their list. And what happens if indeed we have new coaches next year- how are they going to pick their list? Please explain please so we can move on. Thank you !
  22. No room for Ratten at our club right now . not even as an Assistant. The current coaching panel need at least next year if not two more to develop our list the way they have started 2012 off. If this doesn't happen we will have wasted this year for nothing. This year is a learning curve for all and we need to have stability in this area to move on.
  23. Collingwood, in particular, are very high in seeking mental toughness. Neil Craig is also, he and Charlie Walsh whom worked together at both the Adelaide FC and Bicycle Australia looking after mainly the young 17 year olds believe mental toughness is a very high key in the success of a highly competitive sport. like the AFL.They need also to be hard working along with skills. One recruit whom I am looking at watching at Etihad on the 4th July is Sam Mayes-profiled here today on the AFL- http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/139146/default.aspx whom, I strongly believe would be ideal for us.I have watched him for 3 years now- and I think he is a corker, very suited to our team whom have several SA boys now with us.
  24. Sorry to hear that Clint is so injured, and ,may never play again. His knee is so degenerative.
