If it meant a fair draw instead of an unequal FIXture then yes, absolutely.

2002 we had Robbo and Bizzell playing CHF/CHB respectively. You don't win flags with two undersized good honest players in those key positions. We would have been shown up by the Pies or Brisbane big time (even though we did get that win against the Lion that year at the Gabba).

Being able to do it every week would make him a star.

Too one dimensional, could be a very good option up forward but definitely not "star" material.

My Heart Beats True - 2014 Membership Campaign Launched
Dr. Gonzo replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
My dad also signed up again this year for the first time in 4 or 5 years. -
I'll never get the mentality of morons going out looking for fights. I've been drunk/on drugs plenty of times but never had the desire to punch anyone. I'm assuming it's because they're usually too drunk/stupid/ugly to pick up but they way they deal with it is just so cowardly usually king hitting someone who is not expecting it or picking a fight with someone when they have a group of mates backing them up. I think any assault especially on an innocent or unsuspecting person should result in jail time even if only a few months, there's just too many [censored] running around out there knowing there will be minimal consequences for their actions.

Jim Stynes joins bronze heroes at MCG Avenue of Legends
Dr. Gonzo replied to Arrow's topic in Melbourne Demons
Was that the "Dublins Jim" video from the early 90's? -
Let's see how they go against Freo again this year, got a sneaking suspicion they won't get over them as easy as they did on GF day. Swans should give it another shake as well and Collingwood won't be too far off if Buckley can get them playing as a team. I wouldn't write off Geelong either.

Yeah but whatcha gonna do bout it?

Don't worry mate the level to which people on here argue over the semantics and minutiae of meaningless and/or offhand comments is quite bizzarre. I look forward to any further info you might wanna share.

Intraclub Practice Match - Thursday 20th February, 2014
Dr. Gonzo replied to furious d's topic in Melbourne Demons
I didn't see them in action, but round 1 is still 4 weeks away with 2 more practise games in between. By the time round 1 rolls around these guys may be right. -

NAB Challenge 1 - Richmond v Melbourne
Dr. Gonzo replied to Bedraggled Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
His running was exceptional to get the ball off and then run forward to create an option and get the ball back again. I thought Spencer was OK as well and am surprised by the knockers on here. He had to ruck almost single-handedly with his only chop-out coming from an 18 year old kid who played in bursts. -
Where did you see the info about the free trial pass sue was it on the app or AFL website? I couldn't see it on the app on my iPhone.

Then don't post. I actually hope Lyon is able to provide Sylvia the leadership and kick up the bum he never got at Melbourne and he is able to get the best out of himself in the twilight of his career. He could be a very good player if his application was as good as his natural talent and being a follower of Australian Football as well as the MFC I want to see guys like this get the best out of themselves. I also wouldn't mind seeing Freo do well next year as I think they are a great disciplined unit who also have the flair to be entertaining. The fact that Sylvia was an automatic selection and probably our 2nd best mid behind Jones yet is struggling for a guernsey at Freo shows just how behind the best teams we really are and the culture change required to get to the top, not just thereabouts. I'm sure most of us are already too well aware of this fact but when presented with real examples the evidence is stark.

One thing to be wary of when streaming from iPad to AppleTV is interference - I was having problems with my NFL Gamepass earlier in the year and figured out it was because the baby monitor I had set up in the same room was interfering with the wifi streaming. Even after removing this I still had problems with lagging/quality so ended up just watching through my laptop plugged straight into TV (NFL doesn't have an AppleTV app yet unlike NBA, NHL & MLB).
-
What was the quality like? I've read reviews saying it varied from unwatchable (couldn't tell teams apart) to no worse than channel 7's SD feed.
-
That is so utterly ridiculous if true. Some things I've picked up from others after reading threads on Whirlpool and BF; - the app will block attempts to watch via AirPlay to protect Foxtel - if you are able to get it to play (there are workarounds) the resolution is so poor as to be either 1) unwatchable or 2) so pixelated/blurry that you may as well not bother watching. I may sign up for a week as well to test it out but I don't think I'll be able to give up HD footy on Foxtel unfortunately as much as I'd like to stop feeding Murdoch's pockets.
-
Sue - from what I can gather reading BF the 16:9/4:3 issue was resolved last year so shouldn't be an issue.

Training - Monday 10th February, 2014
Dr. Gonzo replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
If you read the article he actually says Hogan and Dawes will both be right for NAB 2 vs Geelong - it seems they probably could've played them this week but want that extra fortnight of training into them to make sure they're both right for round 1 and don't fall victim to a soft tissue injury because we rushed them in underdone for a practice game. They're managing them because of how important they are for our structure especially with question marks over Clark's return. You can bet if we played Hogan and Dawes this week to appease the mjt types and one or both had a soft tissue niggle they'd be lambasting all and sundry. Sure I'm disappointed I won't get to see them (especially Hogan) on Friday but it's r1 vs Saints I'm more worried about. -

Dr. Gonzo replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Do I really have to say it - It's a practice game. -
No one will really care that much but when you see the dedication some people have to the club (even attending pre-season training and writing up detailed reports) of course people will want to go and watch the first hitout in months, especially with a new coach, new players and this will be the last time most have the chance to watch us play a game against a "real" opponent live until round 1. It is a Mickey Mouse game and most won't be to fussed if they can't attend but for those who want to go, or who at least pay up their yearly membership fee, it is pathetic that they have to fork out another $18 per person (plus booking fee) on top of that just for a GA ticket (even more for reserved seat)!
-
In fairness to WYL I think he may have been misquoting Bill Hicks who had a bit that talked about humanity being a "virus with shoes". Hicks was a comedian and was having a go at all the "back-slapping, aren't humans neat" opinions. I don't want to speak for him but I seriously doubt he would've meant to offend anyone who has been impacted by cancer (is there anyone who hasn't?)
-
So will I but it is pathetic that members who pay anywhere from about $200-$800 dont get access to these Mickey Mouse games. A farce.
