Loved Billy. Gave me plenty of highlights as a youngster. I think in the 1990 EF against the Hawks he kicked a goal on the line. Full barrel. Tried to kick it out of the stadium. He came to my high school to discuss placements in US college’s as punters. About 9 of us tried with 1 successfully applicant. He was super nice. Instantly stopped following the Raiders when he started at the Chargers.

He came to the club at (one of) its lowest points and helped deliver a Premiership. Thanks Staff!

He’s not leaving. If he wants to add some years to his current deal so be it. He deserves it.

Would’ve been good for him to see Vines and Gawny with their eyes rolling in their head blowing steam from their nostrils prior to dismembering the Suns.

At the time there were multiple players, including Petracca, but that list has definitely shrunk recently. Some of our younger players were miffed about selection too but I understand that the coaches sorted that out.

This is why I said it’s weird. Paul Connors would rather have his client come to him with the request and then work with the destination club on a deal. But it’s usually all done relatively quietly. To his credit, Paul is one agent who doesn’t like seeing clubs pulled through the mud. He appreciates that he needs them onside to do things his way.

It’s really incredible. As I mentioned months ago, players weren’t happy with some of the going ons at the club. Senior players. It’s not like Bailey Laurie and Jefferson were on hunger strike until selected or anything like that. We had multiple senior players who drove us to a Premiership wanting change. How we have not reassured them that they were heard and kept them in a good headspace is mind numbingly stupid. Also, the leaks could be from the management group, but Connor’s and his bunch of handbags don’t usually do this. It’s weird. Last point, StKilda didn’t like Petracca’s attitude and maturity prior to his draft year. Maybe they were right 10 years later?!? Thats a joke by the way.

Very pleasing win. Shocking past couple of weeks for everyone involved with the Dees, including supporters. Partied a bit too hard last night post match. Worth it though. The senior guys really stood up which I loved. That said more to me than Pert’s interview or the statement we released early in the week. Taking ownership of the club by players will solve a lot and see us bounce back next year. I was always optimistic that we would have a better 25 than 24 and there are enough sprouts in the garden to make me think we can have sustained success for the next 36 months.

Re K Brown. He’s working on becoming more damaging by foot. IE taking the riskier option. Haven’t watched the game but presumably that could be impacting his DE%

Flat as a tack tonight. If we are going to go down tomorrow, I would appreciate seeing us going down with a great deal of physicality and fight. And just to top it off, JJ getting interviewed tonight after Sydney pelted the Bombers, has forced me to drink.

He was pushed. We weren’t considering the remainder of his contract and any RFA type chats. We didn’t want him.

Just makes it worse really. Requested a trade, knocked back and now leaked. As I said before, he must be happy with the club squirming. Hmmmmmmmmmm…..

I haven’t disagreed with what he is reporting. I do understand why people wouldn’t like him though and not trust him.

Who controlling the narrative here? The club? They have said all they can publicly and are on the back foot so not them. The media? They are reacting to some information that was fed to them. They aren’t going to retract unless Petracca or his agent come out and tell their version of events. So the media isn’t really controlling the narrative either. The player/people who have fed the information to the media and can give their version of events at any time but are yet to? So the only question is; are Petracca and his team happy with the narrative and watching the club squirm? Maybe.

Sometimes the best trades are the ones you don’t make.

I don’t think people would be so anti Morris if he didn’t have a long list of priors.

Every article/video/podcast that Morris hosts provides him income. Best to ignore.

A lot can be achieved over a beer in a safe space.

I think he should’ve been selected as he is still agile enough to play a lot of positions. Getting some experience in the seniors can come in any form. Deep forward, floating forward, half back etc I just wanted him to get a feel for the speed and power of the big league. Give him a nudge for the preseason.

I wonder what the travel plans are on Saturday or if they fly back Sunday morning. This could be a chance to have a mini team bonding session at a bar on the Goldy after both VFL and AFL games. Everyone from the club who flies up should attend. Regardless of any changes in the off season, it would be good to have everyone locked in and happier to take on Collingwood next week.

I’d rather not say too much. Most of what is said in the media at the moment is around the mark. There are a few other bits and pieces but given the rules of Demonland I will zip it.

I think what’s more likely is that we are no longer the front runner as other offers have come in. His management probably told the journo that it was about culture to hide the fact that he might like more money.
