Ins folding deck chairs Outs lounge deck chairs I'm pretty much checking out at the moment. Baby and bath water have gone out the freaking window. Unhappy with the way we play how our better players have regressed and how we seem to be making no progress.... No more blindly tipping money into the club, the wife is getting suspicious and I am coming home angry, no upside

Some pretty interesting quotes about the changes at the club and previous levels of professionalism. Cale is a good bloke who is smarter than the average bear both on and off the field. I still believe he could be a weapon for us. He would be a star at west coast already.

Mitchell and Sewell havent had great seasons so far. Squash them early and keep it that way..... who am I kidding, we will most likely play those 2 into form.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
JJJ replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thats ok. I wasn't trying to imply that you did but after re-reading I can see how you thought that. I for one am rapt to be getting Viney. As I said, he is a good start to our re-rebuild. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY

Pick me! Pick me! Ok, we need at least 3 elite mids with clearance skills, elite decision making, pace and pinpoint disposal. On top of that we also need at least 2 small forwards with pace and defensive awareness who can also snag a goal. From there we could do with a 6ft5 CHB gorilla. Sellar need not apply. Viney is a good start though. -

People are grabbing their forks and going on a witch hunt after some media described Viney as a 'potential' top 10 draft pick. I have heard from plenty of people who should know that Jack is the real deal. I for one dont care where we finish or what pick we are forced to use. We can't lose. -
I have it on pretty good authority that you could add "Jack Trengove (Mysterious groin/leg/knee/whatever) Test" to that list. Apparently he is just getting by at the moment. Not sure of the exact ailment but is definitely below the waist....... Also heard that Strauss is really struggling and is a chance to be shut down for a month or so.

I agree. Taggert is an intriguing player from all reports and very highly rated by the club. Fingers crossed he gets a taste of senior footy in preparation for next year. A friend of mine watches TAC footy part time for a VFL club and told me that Sheahan is the most talented player we drafted last year. Needs time apparently.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY

He is rated top 5. He can't miss. He is driven, talented and harder than a cats head. We already know how hard he will work to become the best he can be. Not sure about the heart burn from some here. -
Me.

Few people on Twitter are saying that Selwood is out.... one can dream....
-
He'll probably get better delivery playing for Casey.
-
Wow..... I mean wow...... I really don't know what to say about that.

Ins: Clark, Frawley, Blease (assuming he is best on today with 5 goals 12 tackles and 37 possessions.... in which case I would drop Moloney) Outs: MacDonald, Dunn

By no means am I standing up for Watts but if you had a quick glance down the other end you would have seen possibly the best key forward of his generation get toweled up by a hard running kid who has played less than 10 games. Surely everyone can see the congestion and conditions played a major part in this and most likely impacted on Watts' game. In saying that I would still like Watts to hit the contest harder. He isn't a stick figure anymore and needs to realise that.

The Good. Morton. Ran harder than 95% of his teammates for the 2nd week running. Made 1 or 2 errors but was let down terribly by our forwards at times. The Bad. Tom McDonald. handling/disposal errors aside he gave his opponent too much space yesterday. The Ugly. Jamar. Has he even split the points with an opposition ruckman this year? People should ignore our disposal efficiency at the moment. Our kicks from centre clearances are rushed and under pressure or to contests on the boundary. Critical errors and turnovers on the other hand......

Outs: Martin was and is awful. Happy to see the back of him. Oddly enough I think he will have some value at the trade table. Bate. Cant tackle kick mark or show any awareness. Do the Dogs still want him? Garland. Huge fan but he needs to be accountable for his performances and perhaps play at Casey. He will bounce back. McKenzie. Poor preseason due to injury has left this bloke out in the cold in my eyes. We just have way too many slow mids, of which McKenzie is showing the least amount of form. Bail. Do not rate him at all. Never seen it. Get him out. I am not saying that he should be dropped but the Tigers really worked out Magner's lack of defensive skill. He wont want to repeat that performance against the Dogs. Ins: Moloney? Even at half rat power he will help out the likes of Trengove etc as he will cop the attention. ahhhhhhhhhhhh........................................................ not sure who else. Blease? Yikes. Ricki Bobbi? He was woeful last week. Davis. Straight in if he plays well for Casey. Made of the right stuff. Tynan. See Davis. Can someone at the club tell Lawrence to pull his finger out as he has the BEST OPPORTUNITY IN THE AFL to get AFL games. We have no small forwards of note. None. 2-3 good games at Casey will surely see him debut...

I actually thought his run and overlap was pretty good too. A lot of his more 'highly regarded' teammates could learn something from him. His turnovers will be slowly eradicated from his game through better coaching and player development. Although 1 turnover was clearly the fault of one of our talls (Martin or Jamar) who have no idea how to play forward.

Let Trengove go head to head with Dusty. Jack is a very proud man and wants to be the best player from his class. What better way to show that than chop out the media darling Saturday afternoon. It means nothing to the game or players but as a supporter I wouldn't mind if a few melee fines dished out to our players next monday. Show some fight in all aspects.....

Sandy Roberts used to love screaming, "Stretch, he can run like a gazelle!" as Steven bounced his way down the mcg.

Agreed.

Well they had more chances of inventing bricks than the Jewish population back then, at least according to George Pell.
-
I'm not too concerned. I have it on excellent authority that we will make out like bandits no matter where we pick. The best bit is that Jack fills a lot of needs for our midfield. The Daniher kid is pretty good too.

Craig Cameron and Barry Prendergast ... What have you done!
JJJ replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Bingo! A lot of footy types couldn't believe how poorly we have developed our players over the past 3-4 years. The list includes Malthouse David king, dunstall, Sheehan, walls, Roos, Matthews and Healy. I don't like them all but the groundswell is impressive and I for one agree with them. Bailey was a dud from day 1. He along with a few selection errors at the draft table has left us in a hole. -
Where have you heard that? I heard he was 1 of 2 surefire stars in the 2012 draft. The other is.... the Vic Country utility.... cant remember his name.
