I haven't watched the highlights video but have seen him live. He looks good, a level above the other tac cup kids. A clearance machine, dual sided and a strong body. Does that count or are we only allowed to judge based on a short highlights reel?

Why is it such a good year to have 1? Have you ever actually seen petracca play? I watched petracca and brayshaw play against each other in the last match of the tac cup and found them very hard to split. Both had strengths in different areas and I believe both will turn out to very good afl footballers. I haven't seen either wright or mccartin so prefer not to comment as a result.

Don't like it all. My kids sang its a grand old flag to trenners over the phone when he called them to encourage them to stick with the dees a year or two back. He showed great faith in us a year or two back, I reckon he will recapture his pre injury form next year and, mist importantly, it is our turn to show faith in him. Please don't do it.

Sadly this is spot on. We have to pay big overs ($ and trade picks) to get players the year before their free agency. The successful large clubs just wait for the following year and get the free agent for no draft pick(s) and less coin. Free agency is spitting on the notion of equalisation and farting on it simulaneously.

You know what, I would trade 2 for hrovat and 6. We then pick up brayshaw at 3 and another top mid at 6 plus Hrovat who is coming on nicely. A very good young player.

The point is that the current compensation methodology is the only thing saving clubs down the bottom. If compensation in its current form is scrapped, free agency will sound the death toll for mfc and other lowly clubs as higher clubs will pillage with no compensation for us. We will effectively become a feeder side only and it will be a two tier competition (well even more than it is now).

Seen both brayshaw and petracca play this year (against each other). Very evenly matched and hard to split as both clearance machines with good skills that go forward and kick goals. I slightly preferred brayshaw with his excellent dual sided disposal myself. Time will tell as to who will be the better player but I do wonder how many on here take Damien Barrett approach of having a preference, despite never seeing either play?

2 and 3 is a big ask for any player no matter who good he is. I would rather get two top level players rather than one for those picks.

Nah I reckon he was just crap and a shocking mistake of a pick. That ain't no rumour but a fact.

The irony is that possibly two of the cats delisted players would be close to best 22 in a dees side. Yet the afl seems our list as fine and in no need of a priority pick in rejecting out application. Or is it that these delistees are made to look better with the quality they have around them and they will suck if they came to the dees. Something doesn't add up for me. Anyone able to help me out on this one?

No chance in hell we would get 15 for Clark in a trade. More likely to get a comp pick at end or mid first round than a trade.

Hope that rumour is true. While Robinson kicking can be suspect (I judge it is as passable overall) but he is tough as nails. Wouldn't mind seeing if we can get Mitch hallahan for hawks as well. Can't get a look in at hawks and would easily slot in to our best 22.

Why not? I would trade blease for Robinson. Basically we get Robinson for nothing as we would be delisting blease anyway.

I think you are right, although in our case we may be better off ending up with pick 3 for frawley if it eventuates rather than trading him last year.

What makes you say brayshaw is a lesser quality player? Have you actually seen either play? I have and both are high quality, a level above the other kids on field and with different strengths. Don't worry whoever gets brayshaw will be very happy with his quality. I found it hard to split them. So interested to know what makes petracca so much better?

Agree with the need to work our butts off to get out of our current malaise but I would argue that all teams should start from the same fair base. It won't matter how hard we work currently due to the inherent disadvantages that the lower sides face. It is no coincidence that clubs like the dogs and saints are with us towards the bottom of the ladder.

Forget orourke. I would trade pick 3 to bulldogs for hrovat and pick 7. Trade pick 7 to ego for Tomlinson. So we get petracca/brayshaw at 2, hrovat and Tomlinson.

Sorry disagree. Haven't watched the clip but have seen brayshaw and petracca live last weekend. I actually found it hard to determine which is a better player but they were a step up from all other players out there, both skills wise and with physical size. Both ready to go round 1 2015 for whomever selects them and a significant upgrade on a number of players we currently have in our best 22 (not that this is all that hard!).
