  1. Seems strange that roos would focus on a kid and say we are not taking him. Anything he says he will be pounced upon and we all know the crappila footy journos are so devoid of any original ideas they get their leads from Demonland. Reckon it might have been thrown out as a smokescreen? As in we really want wright at 2? I am not a smart man so have not worked through how this smokescreen would actually help us though! What do we think? Would roosy be playing cloak and daggers with comments like the Wright one or not ?
  2. Sorry where is the duke? And the pub is called the duke of what?
  3. Have you seen Tyler play? I did last week. Would have to be a rookie I would think. Has some potential bit not sure he ha she tools to make it.
  4. Fair question but they both have skills to back it up. Brayshaw kicked three goals and Petracca two and both were real barometers for their team (sandy beaten early when brayshaw quieter and on top as he lifted and he same for Eastern with Petracca). So I would say they are the best players out there regardless of size but with their size they should he able to play senio footy round one next year. Hope that makes sense. Clearly I was impressed with both of their talents and personally would be wrapt to get them at pick 2 and 3. But i ain't no recruiter nor even profess to watching any footy at u 18 level so nothing to compare with really.
  5. Hey mate I was there as well yesterday. Saw Tyler play and do ok but didn't notice roosy snr there. I gave my thoughts on petracca and brayshaw in the thread in 2014 national draft. What did you think of both of these boys?
  6. From what I saw at sandy yesterday, both brayshaw and petracca built like men already. All players need role models and we have failed badly on this front over a number of years. But neither of these boys will need protection on the ground, the other u18s they were tackling could do with some though. Both hit mighty hard.
  7. No Paul Roos sighted by moi. Tyler goes ok on field. Good luck to him.
  8. Ok so I had a look at dragons v ranges at sandy today. Now u don't profess to be an expert in talent spotting and with my two little guys in tow I was not 100 per cent focused. However, all I can say is please let's pick brayshaw and petracca with two and three. They would set up our midfield for a decade or more. Both a cut above and wherever they play next year, both will be ready round one next year. I was super impressed with brayshaw. Started slowly, took a big hit in q2 had a spell and then changed the game for the dragons (26 points down at that stage and won by a goal). Tackles hard, disposal excellent on both sides (not sure he would fit in at the dees as a result!) and reads the ball brilliantly at stoppages. Polished and highly professional. Yes please. Petracca. Probably the opposite in terms of started like a house on fire and then )while good all game), slowed down in the second half as did ranges. Both were barometers for their respective teams . The ball just seems to follow petracca and he was always in the action whether back or forward. Would not say he is 'explosive' but he attacks the ball hard, disposes efficiently. Both kicked multiple goals, maybe three each and looked a level above all others on the ground. Would be hard to split. Petracca probably stronger overhead but brayshaw actually looks cleaner with the ball. Pleas mfc don't trade 2 and frawley 3. These two would give us all hope for the future. And they are ready to go, not skinny u 18s like most of the other players out there.
  9. Lads I'm heading to sandy to watch u 18s ranges v dragons. Petracca and brayshaw playing so will give my thoughts on here
  10. God spot wang (my missus a wang girl before moving to melbourne). If I'm at in laws do, I will meet you at the pub and use the footy as an excuse to get away from the crazy Italian in laws!
  11. As I am a sucker for punishment a la a Melbourne supporter, I would pick the doggies or saints. I like to suffer.
  12. Nah merge with North and call ourselves the Melbourne Demons.
  13. Are GWS serious? They have plundered the last few years of drafts at the expense of teams like us at the foot of the ladder. Now they have the audacity to kick us as they make their way above us on the ladder and with the handouts they gave had they will keep climbing. Go and get farked you afl soulless franchise. God damn hypocrites, you should shut the fark up.
  14. God next weeks game here already. Still too deflated from gws debacle. I have about as much interest in this game as I do in extracting an ingrown hair from my left nut. Can someone tell me when it is over. Make it stop !
  15. Is this the last vfl game for the year ?
  16. Interesting GT. I said to my seven year old that we should leave at three quarter time but she wanted to stay to the bitter end. To be honest, i was numb and could not believe how we had slipped back after finally showing signs of improvement earlier in the year. I also told her I was sorry how poor we were. She said "they will get better Dad I know it". I wish I shared her optimism...
  17. Went today with my seven year old daughter. She can't understand how we can lose by so much on our home ground to gws. Honestly, I can't either. I don't see a future for the mfc or a way forward. We have steadily deteriorated over his year. There is no hope, no spark. Nothing that I can honestly say gives some semblance of hope.
  18. Agree at least drink a reasonable red like a Shiraz or a Cabernet!
  19. To be honest, I can't even remember what Clisby plays like. Has he played at all this year? How many games did he play last year? Is he a small back or can he also rotate midfield? Sorry but I dont know much about him.
  20. All players are created equal unless you represent melbourne
  21. Love it that Viney will not be intimidated by anyone. We need to instil his attitude into the rest of the team!
  22. He really was a great player to watch when in full flight the Wiz. Great memories and I will always think of him as a demon and not a docker first and foremost
  23. Geary yes but Higgins no way. Higgins should repay bulldogs anyway as they have backed him through a lot of injuries and inability to play over the years
  24. Great heart and soul player. Loved by daints supporters and universally respected in the afl. A bit like junior was for us.
