Players association (Aflpa) proposing an equalisation fund to distribute the wealth more evenly among the clubs, a la the NFL model. Eddie threatens to quit. What a win for the game, Eddie goes and the competition does not get divided into the haves and have nots like the NFL system. What so others think? Is this equalisation good for the game or not?

I actually thought Roo was pretty objective and balanced with his call. I quite like him. The others were ordinary, especially dunstall. To call dunstall ordinary is offensive to the word ordinary.

I know we only have a small injury list at the moment. But we do seem to get injuries to more best 22 players and rarely to our 'depth' players it seems. Bugger.

Far more concerned about our midfield. Until we improve here, our forwards will continue to struggle.

Geesh neither Carlton or the eagles look like much chop this year. I know it is early days bit both look tres ordinarie. Interesting as I think the dogs, dees and gws will start waving to sides like this as they move up the ladder and the others move in the reverse order.

Mate I love Viney. However it is what it is and he played an absolute shocker tonight. He will bounce back though. I am really confident of that. But for you to say Viney was good tonight means you either didn't watch the game, you are highly delusional or you are [censored] (or a combination of the three).

Charged me and my mate $7.50 a beer and it was only a mid strength in a crappy plastic cup and $10.50 for a so called chicken burger wrapped in bread that tasted like plastic. Southern cross didn't have trains running for nearly 30 mins from the station post game. Our team lost to a team of seconds and fill ins. I could have chosen to see a great band with friends. I have never seen a win at Etihiad nor a grand final win and I'm in my 40s. Other than that it was a great night.

I'm sorry but why do we play Matt jones and bail? Jones was so easily out marked deep in defence it was embarrassing. Bail is just an all round ordinary vfl player at best.

Agree. I actually forgot that Bail played at all, did he get subbed off cause in all honesty I can't remember him touching it once.

Really good effort today by the mfc. Seemed to all run smoothly. My kids loved it. Each year they look forward to it, even more than the games. My eight year old made me go on the roller coaster three times. The Luna park staff had great pleasure in announcing it was more than 100 years old. Didn't inspire much confidence and the old girl is as rough as they come. Watts is such a champ with the kids. They sure do love him and Jack Viney. Nate jones took his new little one on the stage as did crossy. Nice touch. One of the other kids we went with got shat on by a seagull. I said that was a one in a million chance l, then noticed the five hundred seagulls above the ride. Revised the odds and I reckon it was probably a one in five chance.

While I though denham was a [censored] at the time due to some of the criticisms he levelled at us, it turns out in hindsight he was spot on. I hope he is spot on with his latest assessment of us.

I know everyone loves to be a media critic on demonland but I am going to give credit where it is due. I thought this is an accurate and indepth review of exactly where we are at right now as a club. It might not contain any new or revealing insights for anyone on here but let's face it we all have a more than indepth insight as to the mfc than the average inside football reader!

Ridiculous chicken little. Someone stood on his foot and being cautious we scanned it and no issues. We are taking an over cautious approach to all potential injuries this year and holding guys back. I expect he will be rested this weekend and then fine for the final preseason game.

Good and accurate assessment. Only thing I don't agree on is toumpas (seems like this is polarising a lot of us!). I thought he started extremely slowly and first half struggled to pick up the tempo if the game. But thought he got better as the game wore on and showed some good signs in the second half. If he can continue to build through pre season, I reckon we have a best 22 player who can actually dispose well (unlike the others you mentioned in negatives whom I agree with).

The reality is that we do have some extremely limited players in our bottom five. Their skill errors really cost us. Was the difference between us and freo who don't have the same drop off. They actually had a pretty good tema out there today Thought we should some promise and admired our effort in the third after we looked like we were to be smashed at half time Once we get rid of those bottom five and replace with watts, Viney, Vince and Howe we will look better Oh and I am really confused about those bagging toumpas. Thought he got better as the game went on and he got used to the pace of the game. And unlike our bottom give he is not a turnover merchant
