A very interesting point about experience and games played. I thought we were lucky to get the 2 points. It's bizarre how we looked absolutely cooked half way through the 3rd and looked out of it early in the 4th off a 10 day break. I thought we were going to lose by 4 goals. Hopefully the two points are as good as a win by seasons end.

History might be different had Schwarz not wrecked his knee. The second injury could have been avoided. Should never have been allowed by the coach to return to playing so soon after the reconstruction. Having said that - and this is a brutal assessment - There is no A-grade Judd / Cousins / Bartel / Ablett Jnr level of midfielders in the list of players above. To win a premiership it has been shown you must have midfielders at that level and we've not had that level of player for a long time...until now...

And had we played in the new system we would have faced North in the first round of the finals. Who knows what might have happened but on paper they were a better side than we were. I think i would have preferred to play them in r1 of the finals and not the prelim. We were up and running at that point.

This is actually not a bad point. Since Brown / Weid have played our form hasn't been as strong (but that also coincides with Viney being out - he is a huge out given the tackling pressure he provides - lets just make sure he's right by September)

Actually pretty funny. one of my adelaide mates said they are a chance because "we are due for a loss" and "the crowd really gets behind the crows at home games" I think he's got to come up with better reasons than that.

I had the same issue multiple trying to process a standard CC payment. I think the CC Gateway is getting slammed and can't handle the traffic (i reckon the $$ they would make to fix the issue is probably less than the money they would make by fixing it sadly). I changed my payment method to Clicktopay and it worked first time (before 10am this morning)

Yep, I'm a Covid refugee who has returned to Melbourne from overseas. For the first time in years I've been able to have in person footy chat with people. Every single Melbourne supporter I've bumped into, when asked about their hopes for the season ahead has pretty much said "I've given up on having any expectations" LOL

I was interested to note that we could start work on a home base right now, if we were not being particular about a location in the Shadow of the MCG. I think this is the right approach. I thought he was less than convincing when the host asked whether Goodwin would be coaching Round 1 2021. A simple 'yes' would have sufficed, even if he had to reneg on it later. And jeez, he really does sound like Robert Walls.

If you think we are a top 4 list, then of course we are mentally weak. But the reality is that we have a mid-table list with low footy IQ, bad foot skills and relative inexperience. On any given weekend we have a less than 50% chance of beating top 4 teams, 50-50 chance of beating teams between 5 and 14, and a better than 50% chance of beating the cellar dwellers. Pretty much how it's panned out this year. ?‍♂️. If we win 2 out of our last 3 games we will have done very well.

Wow. Almost as good as Tim Membrey's record against us. Extrapolated over a 22 game season that's 64 goals. Membrey's almost a coleman Medalist vs us.

The side is still chronically short of leadership and footy IQ. A recruit similar to what we had in Jordan Lewis or what Luke Hodge did at Brisbane is worth considering. Is a player of this type available?
