The thing that made me laugh the most was that he said the coverage of the draft was great and everyone was happy with it except for a few footy die hards or some crap like that. I could be wrong but I would of thought that the club would give both Meeson and Newton an incentive to go on the rookie list like 2 years on the rookie list. Why would they want to be demoted if they are just gonna get the ass at the end of the year anyway?

Pick 6 in the rookie draft seems far too high for either of them. Hopefully we are so far under the salary cap minimum that they can afford to at least get rid of one of them.

I bloody hope so. I think Morton, Grimes and Sylvia will have a massive say in where we finish next year. They must continue to step up. I can't see a problem in picking up midfielders in a midfielders draft would have liked to see Ball in the red and blue, I hope they have done the right thing only time will tell fingers crossed.

Did he mention why? Would of thought that some experience wouldn't have hurt in the midfield.

The club always having a long injury list and Gawn being out for the first half out the year with a knee and Talia coming off a serious hamstring injury.

With Talia and Gawn in our sights I can see us having a bigger injury list next year than this year.

I don't think there is a quality ruckman in the draft. Vardy and Gawn's stats aren't overly impressive. The best ruckman at the carnival was 194cm.

If they pick up a ruckman that's just done his knee at 18 I won't be happy. IMO they have to go for a clearance midfielder at 18 so if it's not Ball they should be going for Stevens he's the best clearance player in the draft gets plenty of the ball and was the captain of Vic Country so he is also a leader. Happy with the rest but I don't think we will recruit both Taylor and Patrick.

The disrespect BS it's the only chance he has of getting to his preferred club. He's a proven clearance winner and that is something we deperately need especially now that we have lost McLean. The draft is weak. Collingwood, Carlton, St.Kilda and Brisbane have already given away their own first rnd pick and Port finish at 16. Ball will be a bargain at 18.

He copped a hiding from Miller last year so I 'm not going to be excited by this one. The PSD is a joke and with the changes to the rules for the ND it should be scrapped. Our first pick has virtually become pick 4 with Ball, Bradshaw and McPhee not wanting to come to us.
