  1. If Jurrah continues to play the way he did against Freo you won't be saying that. We desperately need someone to help him.
  2. What patches were they? He was very ordinary. Miller was serviceable while Jones did have a pretty good game.
  3. POSITIVES We get to play on a footy ground next week instead of a sand pit. Jones and MacDonald played well. Strauss showed a bit and McKenzie has a go. NEGATIVES Our run out of the backline was appalling we must have Davey down there, he's the only player that can run, carry and use it. No use playing up forward cause it doesn't get there. Our midfield is still the poorest in the comp. Our midfielders don't know what a clearance is and they don't help out each other. Our forward line is a shambles. Morton must play there he is getting wasted in the midfield, the pressure on Jurrah is enormous. Bennell was awful, until he can put on some weight he should be played further up the ground. Our skill level was embarrassing, sounds a lot like last year.
  4. Yes. I think this game will be about who wants to lose the least. Freo would be mad to want to win this game and have to travel to play the premiers on a sub standard ground when they can lose and stay at home and I think there is very little incentive for us to win except for a win interstate would be nice.
  5. After seeing the state of Etihad I'm not sure that it really is.
  6. Just practicing getting Fitzpatrick's name right so you don't go off your nut like you did last time.
  7. I'd doubt it, it is on their home turf and it's a practice match. All the media will write is what some are writing already and that is that we will have a long year.
  8. FREMANTLE B: GROVER, SILVAGNI, BROUGHTON HB: MUNDY, JOHNSON, DUFFIELD C: MORABITO, HASLEBY, HILL HF: HEADLAND, PAVLICH, MCPHEE F: BALLANTYNE, MCPHARLIN, MAYNE FOLL: SANDILANDS, CROWLEY, BARLOW IC: SCHAMMER, IBBOTSON, HINKLEY, BRADLEY, MURPHY, DE BOER, HAYDEN, PEARCE EMERG: ROBERTON, CLARKE, VAN BERLO MELBOURNE B: CHENEY, FRAWLEY, RIVERS HB: BENNELL, WARNOCK, MACDONALD C: GRIMES, MOLONEY, MORTON HF: TRENGOVE, MILLER, SYLVIA F: DAVEY, JURRAH, GREEN FOLL: MARTIN, MCDONALD, JONES IC: BARTRAM, MCKENZIE, PETTERD, MARIC, SCULLY, JETTA, SPENCER, STRAUSS EMERG: BELL, BAIL, FITZPATRICK
  9. With our lack of tall forward options I'm amazed that Morton and Dunn are still playing predominately in the midfield.
  10. I think it is hardly critical. I don't think a lot of supporters will sign up just because we beat Freo in a practice match. Our form from rnds 1 to 6 will dictate our membership figures, we won't past rnd 2 in the NAB cup anyway. We do have 1 thing in our favour and that is that Freo won't be taking it seriously cause they would be better off losing so they can stay at home next week. Harvey telling the media that they will only play about a 70% full strength squad indicates that. Just looking forward to see how the youngsters go.
  11. If the white team is anything to go by then the team should look like this B: STRAUSS, FRAWLEY, RIVERS HB: BENNELL, WARNOCK, MACDONALD C: GRIMES, MOLONEY, MORTON HF: TRENGOVE, MILLER, SYLVIA F: DAVEY, JURRAH, GREEN FOLL: JAMAR, MCDONALD, JONES IC: SCULLY, SPENCER, MCKENZIE, JETTA, GYSBERTS, MARIC EMERG: MARTIN, PETTERD, CHENEY, BARTRAM
  12. Martin blue or white? How did Aussie go? Thanks for the report.
  13. I think it will be a pretty ordinary game. Freo win they have to travel to Victoria to cop a flogging from Geelong, they lose and they stay at home to play Essendon. If I was Freo I would want us to lose.
  14. B: CHENEY, FRAWLEY, RIVERS HB: BENNELL, WARNOCK, MACDONALD C: GRIMES, MOLONEY, MORTON HF: TRENGOVE, MILLER, SCULLY F: SYLVIA, JURRAH, GREEN FOLL: JAMAR, MCDONALD, JONES IC: SPENCER, MARTIN, MCKENZIE, JETTA, PETTERD, MARIC EMERG: GYSBERTS, DUNN, STRAUSS, BARTRAM
  15. If Sylvia goes backwards he will surely cop it. Last year's good form will soon be forgotten and we will remember his efforts prior to '09 and fair enough too, 1 good year out of 7 is no where near go enough. He's a very important player and will need to step up for years to come, especially now McLean is not at the club and I think he will too, we desperately need a player of Sylvia's ability to play consistantly well to take the pressure off the other midfielders.
  16. Would Spencer be ahead of Martin ATS? Is there a chance that Trengove could be tagged in his first game(RND1)? The reports that I've read about him are almost too good to be true, we could have a genuine star midfielder on our hands.
  17. You're the only one that rated Petterd's performance. Are the rest being a bit harsh?
  18. Brett.Lovett for starters. I think Blease and Strauss might still be fighting over it. Maybe it's a perform and you will get the number incentive?
  19. Thank god Sylvia is ok, I was just about to change my dream team when I first read it. I hoping sometime this year someone will report that Watts has done something good at training, all the reports that I have read have not been good at all, sounds like his attitude is becoming very worrying. Any news on Grimes?
  20. Not the good players and not 26 year olds who should be at their peak.
  21. Miller is about as serviceable as Grgic. What is this obvious reason he is in the leadership group? Train hard so you don't have to perform on the field?
  22. I'm glad they are thinking like that, they usually drop games or at least struggle to beat teams they think they should beat easily. As long as we don't pump our own tyres too much like the Queen's birthday and other times in the past that's when we usually get belted.
  23. I agree, his last half of the year was pretty good. The Gold Coast would love to have to him no matter what year he has. He is the most underrated player at the club, I wouldn't go as far to write that he is in our most important 10 players but I think he is definately in our best 18.
