  1. No. We already have Wonna, Sylvia, Robbo who play small forward. He's overrated and only considering to be such a great player because he plays for the magpies.
  2. You can pretty much assure that we're pulling out of the Olympic Park deal.
  3. Is the Pope Muslim? There's your answer.
  4. It wasn't so much the missed goal that made me laugh, but rather his impression after it. He showed absolutely no emotion, regret or anger. He just kicked it, missed it, and turned around slowly, clearly avoiding a confrontation with Bradshaw who was in the goalsquare awaiting a handball.
  5. I can tell you why we had a higher crowd. 1. Saturday 2. Essendon has more supporters in Melbourne than Geelong and Richmond. 3. MCG 4. Had the Rich-Gee game been at the MCG, add another 10-15k, which would make up for the amount of Demons supporters who would have shown up, had we been in the top 8.
  6. If we can get 50k to a match between two non-finalists on a Saturday, I'm sure we can 35-50k between the decades best team on a Friday night.
  7. Under Daniher, the seasons of 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2007 were shockers. Of those seasons, Melbourne became easy beats half-way through the season and they lost all respect. Even with a talented line-up that would turn things around the following year (except in reference to 2007), they lost confidence as a team and were blown out in every game. Under Bailey, it's been one season, and while the club languishes in last place with only 2 wins, they are hardly "easy beats". They've lost consistently since the start of the year, yet, they've gone from bad to good, considering the inexperience of the cattle on the field. In other words, Daniher couldn't (from my own recollection) lift the team up when they were down. Bailey has done so in a matter of weeks and has created a team of confident youngsters. Instead of getting blown away each week, we've put in solid efforts a majority of the time since round 3. Today was a perfect example. A Daniher team, having lost to an average NM team last week, would have fallen into the Essendon's trap after Lloyd's mark of the year and gone down by 10-11 goals. What we saw was a Bailey team that said, "No...you might be better than us, but we can better you". They almost did. Kudos.
  8. They were bad, but our innocence and inexperience as a team was more obvious than the one-sided effort given by the umps.
  9. Same. I was discussing the draft with a bloke at a party last night, saying about how he'd kill himself if we didn't take Watts in the draft. Yeah, he was a little drunk. Watts would have to be the most logical decision.
  10. Bring back the damn Demon. I originally liked the whole, "Melbournefc" concept, but I've come to hate it. We're the Demons of Melbourne, not the football club of Melbourne.
  11. Well, I guess they have faith in Newton. Hopefully next year he actually has some urgency on the football field.

Bring back the red jumper with the blue demon across the front... ...oh that's right, we no longer have a mascot!
  13. While I haven't been anywhere near as vocal as I used to be, I love giving it to the opposition, and I can take it just as well as I give it. All for a chuckle. When people get personal and start laying into you for your comments, though, is what gets to me. If an opposition supporter wants to get all aggressive towards Melbourne, so be it, because I'm the same to opposition. I love it.
  14. Nothing better than stereotypical murchandise.
  15. Lottery for bottom 8 teams. Bottom team gets most chances of winning 1st pick, 9th placed team has least chance. Top 8 go in order of ladder position. You have 5,000 or so balls in a machine, each ball with numbers 9-16, representing ladder position. 3,000 or so of the balls have the number 16, 1,000 have 15, 400 have 14 and you get less and less the higher up the ladder you get until 9.
  16. - Holland in for Newton I honestly can't see Holland playing another game for the MFC - Wonaeamirri in for Sylvia or Bate I wouldn't drop Bate, but Mother Mary needs to be in this team. (hehe, like my nickname for Wonaeamirri?) - White in for Jamar What's the point in this? Jamar is going to be our ruckman for the next few years. Dropping him for a ruckman who is going to retire at seasons end, with only a few weeks in the season left, would be silly. - Petterd in for Bartram Agree on this, but could go either way.
  17. I was wrong about Green as he's having a great year, Bruce has been the same. But Sylvia really hasn't impressed. A real tradeable asset at years end. Package him with a late draft pick for Warnock.
  18. I'm starting to think the same thing about Sylvia...
  19. *sigh* I can't believe we're all cheering on a team to win so as we finish last. I mean really, it's quite depressing when you think about it. Nonetheless, carn the Eagles!
  20. One of the more impressive debuts I've seen. Looked like a keeper.
  21. He's a total waste of space. There is no room for improvement in this kid. Seriously. I'd rather have Carroll or White playing instead of him, because gives absolutely nothing and there's no positivity coming from him being in the seniors.
  22. It's not over yet. I still think the Melb v WC game in a few weeks will be the deciding factor as to who finishes last. And don't count Freo out just yet.
  23. I'm sorry, but I don't need an explanation as to why McNamee was sacked. Anyone who offers any player $1 mill over 5 years deserves to be sacked. I don't care if it's the Michael Jordan of AFL. Clearly the man had no idea about football or the football business.
