In the Sam Blease thread. Just want to warn you before someone comes in and starts abusing you for starting another thread.

I absolutely LOATH the AFL. They take the approach that a club should be awarded for on-field and off-field performance with a better draw. The draw should be EVEN across the board. Each team has 11 home games, 11 away games, an even number of Sunday games, an even number of Friday games and an even number of Saturday arvo games, almost like how it was in the early-late 90s. In the US, the schedule is even so there is an even playing field. In the AFL, the poor pulling clubs get Sunday games, which are notourisly low drawing, a twighlight game, which are the same, against Interstate clubs, which is even worse. It's not one of those three factors for a game, but all three. A Sunday twilight match against an interstate club. How did we even think we would pull more than 15k is beyond me. The AFL is a ritch man business, not a sport business. The game has prospered, but the downside of that is that the AFL is being overly influenced by the all might dollar. I don't care what he says or what the AFL does to help Melbourne, I will never, EVER believe that Andrew and the AFL want 10 teams in Melbourne. They are bullying us out of Melbourne imo. I don't think any other club has a twilight game on a Sunday against an interstate club.

We say that, but do we believe it? Let's not be so naive to think that society, not individuals, really believe in the whole "innocent until proven guilty". If that was the case, jurors wouldn't be blocked from the media during a trial. It's just a technical term, something used so the defence can have a fair trial. How often do you see a person up for murder and say, "well, he is innocent and will be until he is proven guilty."? I doubt ever. I always think, "What a [censored]! I can't believe he did that!" Innocent until proven guilty is just a technical term and fact. But it's not necessarily what the public automatically believe/think.

He belted a woman. He deserves to be boo'd, just like how Kobe Bryant was boo'd when he was charged for rape. The boos' went when the case was thrown out (or whatever happened.) We can say "innocent until proven guilty", but everyone knows that it's really "guilty until proven innocent". The accusation is on him, not the supposed victim. So atm, I assume he did wrong, because I will take the victims word over his. He is in the public eye and deserves to be boo'd. IMO. We boo players who change teams, hit players hard or whatever, then we can boo players who do something like that. Whether it's his private life or not, we know, and we will boo.

My mum gave up trying to pronounce his name and just calls him "Mother mary" (kind of sounds like wonamaeri - however you spell his name)

Thanks Brock_Machine What I really don't get about yesterdays game was Adelaide's willingness to slow the game down and constantly have two players back. In a way, I guess we can take it as somewhat of a compliment - I don't think Craig was confident they could beat us on the MCG allowing us to play our normal style of football. I might be getting ahead of myself, but I think we had more instances of skill and good decision making than Adelaide today. They were terrible. However, our inability to counter their extra men back hurt us. The way to counter a flood is to slowly but surely make your way in. We just kept bombing it in. You can't play like that anymore. Thankfully, they did the same thing, and what the game ended up being was a game between two sides that just didn't know how to break each others defensive tactics.

I expected that. I think we're the only team this year that has gotten a Sunday twilight match against an interstate team. It's a stupid fixture for us.

Credit to him for playing today and putting in a decent effort.

Juice Newton- Criticisms, Comments and Kudos

Michael Newton needs to be punched at the back of the head...when his back is turned. i don't care if it's unmanly to punch someone when their back is turned. but he deserves to be king hit without suspecting it beforehand. -
The internet filter is a stupid idea though. Totally different things. But I don't think the AFL and media are making a big deal about it. Or too big a deal. I think it's perfect coverage. I go to the dawn service every year, and it's not like the networks take advantage of the day (at least I don't think so). The Coll v Ess game was derived by the coach's, not by the AFL or networks.

Brad Miller's wife Pia on Pillow Talk on The Footy Show. My goodness. Lucky, lucky man. Stunning! Anyway, Miller on The Footy Show now - not as a panelist...as a special guest, trying to get the extra 800 to reach 30,000.

THE INTOXICATING SMELL OF SUCCESS IS HEADING OUR WAY

Hope to keep up with them. Green will be a major loss. Adelaide by 35. -
Really surprised at the Doggies. My guess is that they'll be the new financial sucker.

If we're going to build around youth with a 3-5 year plan, why draft someone who is probably going to retire in 6-8 years? And by the end of his career, we all know he would have past his peak.

People Who Live In Glass Houses Should Not Throw Stones

A note to the OP: You, like every other interstate supporter, support a mutation of a team. You have no history, no class and no culture. No matter what you say, what you do or what you achieve as a club, you'll always only ever been seen by the AFL and the true home of football (Melbourne) as a money maker. Nothing more. Nothing less. But, as a supporter, you don't care about that. You care about success on the field. Unfortunately, Fremantle has had none. Zip. Ziltch. You're in that town you call a city, and you come here and criticise our comments about your club. Well, my friend, we have a damn right. We have, as a club, plenty to gloat about, plenty to cheer about and plenty to celebrate about. You have nothing in 15 years. You, like every other Fremantle supporter, don't know what it's like to be a part of a successful and respected club. Do you think we care what the people in the desert think of us? No, we don't. Now, go back to that 30,000 seat "stadium" with your purple jersey and your bordering homosexual mascot and watch your beloved Fremantle Dockers lose for the 300th time in 315 games. When you win 12 flags, exist for 150 years with little to no support from your governing body, break the home and away crowd record, win three flags, be coached by the most influential person in the history of the game AND win some games, then, and only then, can you come here and even remotely try to criticise us - Melbourne fans and the club itself. FREOOOOOOOOOO HEAVEEEEEE HOOOOOOOOO You wear a purple and green jersey. Honestly. Do you seriously think any professional club with purple and green as its main colours will ever be successful? You may as well wear a ballet uniform. Hacks. -
Around 25,000 I'd say around 25,000 is just about right. Adelaide always get 5000-6000 fans at their games at the G.
