  1. Well, it is a business, whether you like it or not.
  2. Astonishing that this isn't being handled internally. Clearly it was just two brothers talking to one another casually. Now you have a player's name dragged through the mud for nothing.
  3. The Crows are going to miss him even more with Dangerfield gone.
  4. No wonder we picked Toumpas then.
  5. Geelong is going to have to pay overs to get him. Adelaide will match and pay him $1 million a year. Geelong will have to part with 2 first-round picks and a player because their picks alone won't do it. Can Geelong afford to give up draft picks at this stage? Danger is only 25, but...they're going to lose a lot of experience over the next few years and I'm not as encouraged by their depth as their fans are.
  6. Games he played early in the season were average but he did okay later on. Much prefer him as a depth filler player than the likes of M Jones.
  7. Reality is now that it's pointless trading him because we won't get anyone better. A valuable depth player but nothing more. Could spend a lot of time at Casey next year.
  8. He was great in every game he played. Was a better CHF decoy than Dawes. A better option, a better mark, more effective, faster, harder, more influential.
  9. It's completely viable that while Connors is talking to Melbourne, that the club in inquiring about Dangerfield. He would be absolutely crazy to accept less money to play in Geelong for a number of reasons. List quality and the fact the "go home" factor is irrelevant as you're only 1.5 hours at most away from Melbourne. I'd be disappointed if the club isn't pushing hard. Don't you think his manager would *want* Dangerfield to take more money? Of course he does...the club would be silly not to keep pushing. Him being at the club doesn't confirm anything other than the fact Melbourne is inquiring about players his managers. Dangerfield is part of that group. tl;dr Dangerfield to sign with Melbourne, 12 years, 12 million.
  10. What if I do it without any expectation of receiving anything in return? Just 'cause?
  11. You make it sound like Geelong is more than a 1.5 hour drive from Melbourne. Gee whiz, he could live in the northern suburbs and it would take him just as long to get to work in peak hour! Astonishing, isn't it? He'd be crazy to take less more to play in Geelong. Why would you do that when you can get more money and play with an up-and-coming side? There must be more to it? The "go home" factor has nothing to do with it. People act like as if Geelong and Melbourne are in different countries. Geelong is just a suburb of Melbourne, really. It's to Melbourne what Milwaukee is to Chicago.
  12. I'm watching the game at Crown. One of Frawley's kicks just hit me in the head.
  13. Of course they were. Reality is that even as low down the pile the likes of Terlich and Jones are, they're still there for a reason. You obviously don't want them playing games as you don't want any depth players to be because it means you have a lot of injuries, but at the very least they're competent and probably more useful in defensive roles than what Riley and Bail are in attacking roles.
  14. I facepalmed so hard my hand went through my head, down to my arse.
  15. Ted Richards Nick Davis Rhyce Shaw To name a few. Yes, why would we want a coach to sidestep timely recruiting and scouting processes and instead attract a player they already know about. SHOCKING!
  16. Yeah I'm convinced lol I didn't know about the price differences with finals tickets. I always wondered why people were complaining so much about Finals tickets because I always thought they were reasonably priced. I guess I was only looking at AFL Members prices. I'm Gold so I guess I shouldn't have a problem if Melbourne gets it.
  17. Petracca in the US. Petracca confirmed switching codes to NFL next season. #YouKnowItMakesSense
  18. I'm an AFL Gold member with Melbourne club support. I'm tempted to scrap one of the memberships (my girlfriend's) and instead buy two of the highest tier Melbourne memberships. Is it worth it?
  19. I actually think that the best case scenario for this holiday to have legs is if there is at least one interstate team in the Grand Final. Two is a bonus. As against this holiday as I have been in this thread, you'd be crazy to close up shop on a day when 30,000-40,000 people from Perth are all in the city on the same days at the same time. I bet Andrews is praying for an all-interstate Grand Final. It would be a bonanza. Two Melbourne team and it's be a ghost town on Parade day.
  20. Was very consistent throughout even when he hit a wall around round 17.
  21. Love the bloke but I wonder if he can stay at or go above his pace as shown in the first few years. Great clubman. Hope he gets back.
  22. Why wouldn't you actually link to the tweet?
  23. Quite telling for Watts. We need him to be an outside runner and his deliver forward is almost non-existent.
