  1. Check my bank balance (I promised my son that I would buy him the lego death star if we win a premiership!) (I also promised him I would get a tattoo!)
  2. Speak for yourself Cass! The spirit of 26-6-6 is one of my faves!?
  3. Heard him interviewed on the radio yesterday; pretty clear that he holds little or no affection for the Dees. Talked about how difficult the booing and money bags stunts when he played us was. Feelings mutual. Interestingly he does keep in contact with Max (a little bit)
  4. post match 1987 prelim - that is all.
  5. What this photo does show yet again is how big these blokes are (to borrow a Michael Palin quote, "even the small ones are big!") My brother (a fraction under 6') bumped into Jake Melksham and was taken aback by how tall he was.
  6. Simply put, suggesting that any role played in a final is "easy" is ludicrous. The guy worked his guts out all night but he did, along with several of his more highly celebrated teammates commit some errors. Listening to Goodwin it seems that the coaching panel expect these to occur but are looking for how the team overcomes them. Clearly he is not one of our best but he has given his all whenever I have watched him play and watching him at the ground on Friday, his running pattens are elite. He also has an uncanny capacity to bob up at the right time (kicking the sealer for one example).
  7. Good to know his role was easy Goodoil; I guess you will be challenging him for that "easy" job once you are drafted this year. He better look over his shoulder!
  8. Better than solid in my opinion SWYL. From where I was sitting he appeared to expertly plug countless gaps, took some critical strong marks and generally marshalled the backline superbly
  9. Looked at Scotts media conference...it pains me to say that it was all class. Check out his first comment
  10. I will be totally irrational at the game; see you all there!
  11. I cup of fresh concrete please!
  12. Went along with the family and really enjoyed this first finals training session for 12 years, my brother and I reminisced about the junction oval training sessions back in 87 and even at the start of this century. We have come so far as a club since those days not so long past. Spent some time looking at the rehab group where Dom was worked hard along with Oskar and Mitch. He was the stand out of the three not surprisingly and looks to be in the van to play on Friday if required. Oskar seemed to move freely and was very keen on the snap on goal with mixed success. It was great to also see Lever walking laps as well as Corey Maynard jogging laps at a fair pace. Thank you to whoever informed us of Lewis' illness, hopefully not too serious. The big take away from the session (apart from the delicious sausages and donuts (see above)) was the speed at which they work. Sitting in the stands each week the whole game seems much slower than when seen up close. All in all the main group looked sharper as the session progressed. We also commented on what a fantastic late season addition Vanders has been (it appears his nickname is "Checkers" - any insight on that would be appreciated), his size and strength is just what September needs! We left with full stomachs and high hopes. Go Dees! Footnote (no pun intended): it was great to see the co-captain back in the main group, he looked to pick up the pace quickly and slot back in with ease. Can only be a good addition to an already strong lineup.
  13. Delicious sausages, donuts and club paraphanelia. To hell with training?
  14. Awful sound like a coconut cracking, it happened directly in front of me. A bizarre non report if ever I saw one. Times have changed!
  15. I like him to be honest, whilst he can come across a trifle pompous he looks at sport differently to many of his contemporaries.
  16. The message from the club is clear; Ticketek have stuffed up and are trying to re-boot their system. There are still tickets in the club's allocation and will be available once the system is uploaded again. We will be notified by social media when this has occurred. The games will be put on sale at different times (genius)
  17. All a bit of a lottery tbh. Managed to get tickets for 8 members and went back for 2 more and the allocation was exhausted. Not sure the system is designed to improve the fans experience. Btw all of us are paid up members, just wanted to sit together.
  18. I was not clear..I think they will keep Mitch and flip Flip
  19. Keep Mitch and flip Flipper I reckon.
  20. That is one of the single best posts I have read on Demonland; well done sir. Warren Dean was my favourite player of the time, but boy could he hook his kicks!
  21. I am totally with you Macca; in past finals tilts I have always been hoping to face certain teams but this year, maybe because the comp is so even or maybe because I think our team is strong I am happy to face anyone, anywhere! If we lose, so be it but if we win....Toot Toot!
  22. Bec Judd...TV presenter...kinda of ironic statement because her work on Postcards is pretty ordinary.
  23. Well put CMWYW, my take on Judd was that it was nothing more than verbal click bait. The way the other panelists responded confirmed it for me. To be honest as a TV personality he makes a great ex-footballer. His wife is a far better performer than him
