  1. I got along for a bit of the middle session. Watched a very energetic 2 defenders on 1 forward with a midfielder kicking to their lead. Lever and May pair so well, they shut most of the forwards down Absolute stand outs were Disco as a defender and Roo and Fritta as forwards. Brody was heavily involved as well. The other one who seemed quite elusive was Bill Lawrie. Not quick but crafty. Still waiting to see what caused us to pick up Kolt. He is so keen but lacks a bit of class IMHO Damn they are fit!! They just go and go. Disappointing lack of soccer balls too.
  2. Kev, do you think it was anything to do with injured players coming back to the main group. Obviously hard for you to answer but just interested in the vibe of the thing.
  3. Premiership Dee Pig retiring and what happened to Gus were two of the tipping points in our success levels as a club
  4. You, my friend have my new favourite user name!
  5. Thanks Wayne, Any views on our ruck back up? Does Max H look like a genuine back up for Max G
  6. We loved Cam, our nickname for him was Clunker due to his fantastic pack marking ability. I reckon without Clunker, Bernie V and Chunky we would not have won the 21 flag. They led the way for the young guns. BTW He also played a blinder in our breakthrough victory against the Dorks
  7. Indeed, it is his Pop's name. Apparently his family call him Reggie
  8. I reckon Gus was a major contributor to the better nicknames. I think he came up with "halfway" for Blake Haus. Btw @Ghostwriter i too use the playing list for sleeping aide. A finite, simple list that i rarely get past #20 befpre the zzzs come. Looking at the time (1.27am) i might go and have go right now!
  9. And I wasn't even close!!
  10. So it is the early stages of the off season and I thought a nearest the pin might be interesting. We have already seen some existing players change numbers and it got me thinking what the new players numbers will be. Complete declaration (I Have No Idea) but feel free to have a go Currently available numbers 9,14,19,20,27,28,33,34,38,40,41,46 Berry - 40 High number for a rookie Heath - 28 seems to be a Ruck number at the Dees Jiath - 20 - will suit him Matthews - 9 Smaller than Spargs hope the jumper is not too baggy Mihocek - 41 keeps his number Onley - 33 - looks like a 33 Pickett - 38 - near Cuz in the dressing rooms Steele - 14 - The usual St Kilda recruit number Taylor - 27 - Has the right frame for a big number White - 34 - well der Fred Re-allocated - unconfirmed Kentfield - 19 they are talking him up, wouldn't be surprised if he moves up
  11. When interviewed on SEN he said that he does not have a footy nickname but his family call him Reggie (middle name Reginald after a grand father)
  12. The benefit of a rookie is that the first 100k of their wage is not counted in the salary cap. ( I was yesterday-years-old when I discovered this!)
  13. Agreed however there has been talk of home sickness over the years and having a familiar face around the place can'tgo astray.
  14. I would call it 360 degree thinking. He can play, he can kick goals (a clear need) he provides an extra level of support to our marquee player.
  15. Although I agree with you to a point; every premiership team is made up of "Jai Culleys". I.E. players in the right place at the right time to play a role in a premiership team. (whippersnapper 😉)
  16. Cue incorrect use and debating the use of the word "laconic"
  17. Gotta love TMac being there. What a pro!!
  18. I wonder how the forgotten man Shane McAdam is getting on. For all the slings and arrows he was starting to look like the player we recruited before he did his achilles.
  19. I drove past and noticed how desolate it looked.
