  1. Keep an eye on the Club website for news of activities before the game. Also thought it would be great to see a massive amount of flags up and about before and during the game. Would be uplifting for the boys to hear our voices and see the flags waving. The Demon Army do such a great job but it would be even better if that effect was continued all around the ground. The other show of support would be for everyone to wear their scarves - a sea of red and blue. Also noted on the Club website was that the first open training was on Saturday morning. Good to get the kids all down to watch training.
  2. Yes, I agree when was the last time we saw a CEO and Pres. at a Tribunal hearing. Goes to show what this meant to the Club. I think a little more than just defending Jack. It was a defense of our Club and to show the football world what we now stand for. I hope the boys do the same Sat night.
  3. Just come back from a month in Italy and was shattered when I couldn't get the AFLlive on my ipad or computer. I rang AFL Melbourne and after a very annoying wait (I did say I was ringing from Italy) they advised oh no live play was not available in Italy - rest of Europe yep but not Italy. I was shattered but listening to AFLlive radio V Carlton was almost as good. Oh yes have never purchased and will be happy not see the "love me long time" girls. My donation is forthcoming!!
  4. Chris Dawes impressive do or die tackle. Watts and Howes genuine improvement (Roos surely has the gift) Jack G's desperate spoil The whole teams keeping to the systems for the whole of the last quarter despite the Crows having the run - on and 49,000 Adelaide supporters screaming. Lastly Bernie's grin when the siren went. Magic.
  5. Difficult to manage thousand of supporters to stand up at the same time. I think the banners work better (like the Scully banners) because they will be captured on TV. Pity we cant get the Demon Army to hold something up but it may be a little provocative for the Club but you never know.
  6. This decision hopefully will galvanise supporters into coming Saturday night. A few banners supporting Jack would be nice.
  7. Typical AFL - we didn't tank but still got a $500,000 fine - Jack didnt bump but he gets 2 weeks - please someone explain
  8. Wunders, There is a $59.00 "Armchair Membership" with no access to games or a 3 game membership which costs $90. If still available the $100 New Balance Voucher comes with either of these memberships. If you call the Club today (Tuesday) on 1300 336 667 you might still be able to get the Voucher. There is only a limited number left and the offer finishes on the 10 May. Hope this helps.
  9. Suggest you read WJ's report from the Devils Advocates function. Might put things in perspective. Also I think you are wrong to suggest that the playing group is fractured.
  10. I dont think there will be a massive improvement from what we saw in the initial NAB rounds. However saying that, those games were a massive improvement on what we saw last year. With the return of some tall forwards, the return of Garland, some assistance to Jake (Jamar/Gawn) and the grunt of Viney I believe we will all be pleasanatly surprised. The players have to not only learn an entirely new game plan but we also have a mid field who have had two games together. Most of us know that putting it together on the training track is easy and much more difficult to do it under pressure on game day. We are playing a compromised game plan caused by having a compromised playing list. Improvement will come slowly and anyone who expected otherwise this year was sadly out of step with reality. Like Saty I have every faith in Roos and to hear him admit that he was part of the debacle on Sunday because he coached badly was music to my ears. When was the last time if ever did we hear Neeld ever take responsibility for anything that happened last year. Roos now has to ensure the players play to his plan but more importantly he has to deal with the mental issues that the players have been left with from the last couple of years. If anyone can do all of this it is Roosy and his crack team of coaches. I don't ever believe that the team is as bad as they looked on Sunday but as soon as WC had kicked a couple of goals and we were 0.0, their heads went down - with a big sign going up - here we go again. To me this is the biggest hurdle that Roosy has to fix. There were no signs of fumbling against Saints like what was displayed on Sunday. They do have the skills but I am not sure of the belief in themselves.
  11. Give the guy a break, whenever the ball came anywhere near him he had two defenders on him. He was never going to get the space. Also as someone else said he was restricted from the first quarter and am not sure whether it was an incident behind play as I looked back from the play he was on the ground and Gwilt was running forward away from him. He got up and was definitely limping. Losing Fitzy and virtually losingTommy Mac as well turned our already compromised game plan on its head. Alex Georgiou taking himself off in the fourth absolutely cruelled us. Add to this Dunn's niggle - geez are we cursed!!
  12. PJ's letter is in response to two things. One is the new privacy laws that have just come into law. Hence the open letter to those members who have not resigned. The second being a letter he received from an individual who had been a long term supporter but last year gave up his membership due to the frustration of being a Melbourne supporter. He wrote to PJ saying that Peter with the changes to the Administration and his being able to entice Roos to the Club had given him hope whereas in the previous year he had lost hope. If you think that it is just spin Peter saying to write to him, it is not spin. He does try and respond.
  13. Bring on Queens Birthday with a Clarke/Dawes/Hogan and Howe forward line and Frawley/Tommy Mc/Garland Backline and a complete midfield - cant wait.
  14. Get on the phones now to speak to Nate Jones, Mitch Clark and Bernie Vince. Let's make that 30,000 before Round 1.
  15. Kind of on topic but whilst catching a connecting flight for home from Singapore last night happened to notice Mr. J. Hird on my flight. He was looking both tanned and slim He was in Business Class. I was not.
  16. Port had a training camp in Milan - Milan Italy that is. AFL's money at work there. That seemed to work for Port. Maybe we could forgo Darwin and head to Portofino.
