  1. I always have to laugh at this comment. Best available now? or Best player in 2, 3 or 4 years? Every draft in retrospect is vastly different to the actual draft......
  2. If he's like Heppell why would EFC be into him?
  3. That is a poor post.
  4. You don't know any of that,. And who says the cops are right? I have been done for failing to stop at a stop sign and it was complete bollocks. It was about 20y ago. The cops were bored, it was in the middle of nowhere and they looking for a reason to pull someone over. I just happened to be the bunny passing.
  5. This will be a footnote in his story.... Headline in 2021 paper Pick45 Curnow was a steal in the draft because of some questions about his decision making......How did he ever fall so far in the draft?
  6. Didn't he get thrown out of a nightclub?
  7. Gold! Jack Darling here we come.....we will get him with pick 46....
  8. Can't imagine so..Don't know for sure but its likely there is an appeal process
  9. He is getting there but he gets tagged out of the game too often. The elite mids don't. I think thats what stops him at this point from being called elite Judd, Ablett, Pendlebury, Fyffe, Boak - they perform mostly despite being tagged.
  10. We are less than adequate in every department!
  11. It doesn't make sense what you are saying. Hawthorn have at least 12 i50s a game more than us and they get it in quicker and more acurately. Hawthorn's midfield with our fwd line would do very well indeed. Freo's problem is more to do with their movement into the fwd line. In 2014 they kicked atrociously and most likley would have won if mayne and Ballantyne had kicked more like they usually do. As for St Kilda, they went very close to winning a GF. And the Saints had a better fwd line than Collingwood. So its disingenuous to say that the Saints fwd line didn't include enough firepower. And with all of your examples, the midfields were outstanding. So far ahead of melbourne's its not funny. And they all got to grand finals. You can't put the cart before the horse. You have to get the ball into the fwd line as the first step. Your premise seems to be that we already have a decent midfield (or will have) and therefore need to focus on key forwards. Its a false premise and unproven.
  12. Libratore was a coach at Carlton and admitted it... Just sayin....
  13. Thanks Malthouse...
  14. Yeah, we are 17th for i50s and 16th for centre clearances. Hard to judge a fwd line on that. I'm sticking with my view. Cheers
  15. There were no leaks about this.... The club is water tight...
  16. Good news travels fast......
  17. MELBOURNE has signed chief executive Peter Jackson to a new deal that will see him remain at the club until at least the end of the 2017 season. ... Jackson inked the new deal at a meeting with Demons president Glen Bartlett this morning. Great news ...
  18. Look we have a functioning fwd line. Could it be better of course. But its not the priority. Hogan, Dawes, Garlett, Pederson, JKH, Petracca are a fwd line. We have one player in the media's top 50 list. One. I applaud your confidence that our midfield will be OK but its totally unproven and lacks depth. And yep, our young guns could well turn out to be elite but we need 2 elite mids and 8 others to be able to rotate through there with a consisten output. We are a long way off the pace.
  19. We were ranked 18th last year. I disagree with you. Yes we might improve but when was the last elite mid we had? And I mean elite. You need at least two to be a contender. And there is no guarantee we will get the right fwd line. I maintain we are better off finding elite mids and pumping th eball into our fwd line 70 times a game. The opposite doesn't work imo.
  20. OMG Is Jesse wearing a West Coast jumper????? Was he smiling???
  21. There is zero sympathy from me for the players. The problem with the outcome you describe above is highlighted if you replace the EFC with the East German athletics programme circa 1970 or the Chinese Swim team circa 1990.... Its tough luck for the athletes but it was tougher luck for Raelene Boyle and other athletes denied gold medals by drug cheats. You can never have a situation where a player or athlete is not responsible for what they digest (other than the documented limited number of genuine excuses). To not have that rule exposes all teams and athletes to the "it wasn't me, it was my coach" excuse. That is simply untenable. The EFC were trying to take advantage and were caught. Pure and simple. Our team was beaten by a team full of drug cheats. If the players didn't ask their doctor, partner player manager etc for clearance or make legitimate enquiry on their own behalf then they deserve to be rubbed out for 2 years. "hey this is a bit suss, what do ya reckon?" Really it beggars belief that they didn't do this.
  22. Met him once. He was a giant!
  23. There is no point having a great fwd line if you only get the ball in there 20 times a game......
  24. Just don't make a joke about it..........
  25. They have new evidence. They will also take a different view on previous evidence as well as comfortable satisfaction. Be patient grasshoppers....
