None of this "But I wasn't there during the week". You set the standards, the protocols and the chain of command. Simple. At Melbourne I was told our our long standing doctor (Dr Andrew Gaff I believe) and his team resigned en masse when it became clear that the sports science people (Missen I believe it was) were given final say over whether a player was fit to play. The doctors acted as they should. Professional and in my view correctly. They didn't accept that and resigned. Our board should have looked at that and assesses whether this was appropriate protocol or otherwise. That is what a proper process is all about. The EFC didn't have it and Reid has been shown up for being a fan boi and unprofessional. As has the EFC board.

I would have thought that the only avenue for an individual is to argue that the collective decision was wrong in their own case. ie they had satisfactory evidence that what they were administered was legal. Now given they have had multiple opportunities to provide such evidence and don't appear to have done so, this appeal avenue would be unlikley.

Why didn't the players ask him? Because it was "black ops". They were in on the secretive nature of this. Reid knew enough to 'allegedly' write a letter that no-one has admitted receiving. Very self-serving. Yet it has come out that Reid knew nothing.. Well it can't be both. Reid should have known what was going on. That was his job. The supposed fact that the players didn't ask him cooked their goose as well. And through all of this, the bit I don't get is that you have a bogan like Dank, with no qualifications, saying 'i'm a genius with this stuff, trust me'. It's beyond belief. One look at Dank tells you he is a dodgy character and a charlatan. And not one player sought anther opinion? Please. I agree with your assessment above. If it was above board why didn't Reid know? Why didn't the players tell ASADA what supplements they had been taking? Defies belief, They deserve no sympathy and are as guilty as sin.

I am awed by how they conducted this inquiry with no leaks. Contrasts with the home town, boys club, nudge nudge wink wink 'investigation' by the AFL. The leaking EFC and the Herald Sun fan boi's have been shown up as the demented fools they are.

So lets say each of the 34 sues the club for loss of reputation, negligence and damages. Plus others affected by this.. At $2m a player thats a big hole of over $70m the club will have to find. On top of the estimated $7m spent to date.... Which sponsors are going to fund that? Which sponsors want to be tarnished with that brush? They are in one deep pile of their own do do....

Maybe EFC indemnified us and have to pay his salary for the time off? You don't know what is in their contracts....

I disagree with your post. The MFC had a process in place that weeded out Dank. The Doctor we had was removed. And yet again, players sit through dozens of hours of lectures on drugs... they should know better. That they didn't ask anybody and were complicit in the black ops nature and they signed consent forms yet apparently failed to do a rudimentary internet search cooked their goose.

And what of the sponsors that have stuck by the club? How can they continue to support the drug cheats?
