That goal against Geelong when he ran from the wing and was involved in a chain of possessions and finished off with a goal was particularly encouraging. I saw a guy with a real sense of where to run and who knew what to do when he got it.

Pretty realistic you would have to think. Except for Tommy Mac who should be in the category that he has improved and has more to go. Fix his disposal and he will be elite, We have brought in a lot of players that have simply failed to make the grade regardless of whether we think it is culture or talent. The CData team are looking purely at stats and effectiveness so guys like Dunn, Lumumba, Dawes, Garland don't really cut it. We just have to find players that will step up whether it is VDB, Stretch ANB etc Quite sobering really

What a novel idea! Wait until all of the facts are investigated/known before jumping to a conclusion.

And he did that in around 8 minutes.....

There you go again. Who said martin was drunk? You don't explicitly say he was drunk but you make a statement and then make a general statement which tries to inference the situation that you do not not for sure IS the situation. best you stop that really.

And here is the problem. With respect i think you are the one making assumptions about so much of this. This stuff then gets added to and before you know it the real story gets lost. We perhaps should wait for the full story to come out (although the club and the AFL seem to be taking their sweet time about it). You say there is no evidence the woman was 'smug'. In an earlier post by Song he details what he was told by the owners of the restaurant. Maybe your statement isn't right. I have seen on numerous occasions people go up to high profile people and impose on them unreasonably. Not saying its the case here but it happens a lot. You also go on to say that the restaurant had served too many drinks to martin. You have no idea what they served him. He apparently had been at Stereosonic all day and there is a lot of stuff on offer there. You also don't know what his mate did or did not do. It's easy to be holier than thou and on the face of it it is an appalling act regardless of any of those circumstances. But perhaps we should wait to hear both sides of the 'story'.

There's an awful lot of hyperbole on this thread about violence towards women. No-one doubts its an issue. I was simply reframing the statistics quoted here with some fact.

If you are talking disproportionate you are correct. 64% of all homicide victims are male. Just sayin...

He actually is a bit of a forgotten player for us. As good as a new recruit but built and ready to go...
-
maybe but at what cost to the club? Compare that with what some here were advocating when we were charged with tanking. Yuo are unlikely to win when fighting with City Hall. Best to make a strategic withdrawal..and live to fight another day.
-
So remind me again why the club doctor is still practising medicine let alone be allowed to be near a team of young men?? He has failed so much at so many levels. He is just a Hird fanboi.
-
Oh OK you have joined the dots...no probs just checking you weren't quoting facts.
-
I have compassion but unlike some others it is directed at the victims if the cheating not the perpetrators.
-
Really? Any facts to back this up?

Like the guy who was stealing from work to gamble it away on the pokies.....'I didn't expect to get caught'.... Seriously, these guys have themselves to blame. If it was my son I would be furious that these forkers have done what they did. I would be suing the pants off them and screaming to get to the bottom of this, I simply do not believe that not one of them sought external advice from a wife, girlfriend, doctor, website, manager etc etc I mean how many of us check google when we are sick to see what Dr Google says? As tough as it is feel for the victims of cheating - we were one of the victims. What about feeling sorry for our players that had to play against the cheats.

My fiddy makes it $766......... C'mon guys
-
Actually I could see exactly this happening. After all, if you believe what has been written, the AFL 'oversaw' the appointmets of Jackson and Roos. It would make perfect sense for them to 'vet' the appointment of Goodwin.... Just sayin'....
-
Notsure if it is the crux but it sure destroys any chance of the 'co-operation' defence....
-
Isn't the situation with Goodwin is that he used some of the treatements? Like Hexalerin (or whatever)...and if so I can't imagine any penalties that would be significant (and whether they have any evidence).... It would be stretching it to say he was an integral part of the doping programme..
-
The AFL would have to implement sanctions aginst the staff under those circumstances. Remember that the club has only received sanctions for bringing the game into disrepute and poor record keeping - not dishing out illegal drugs. If the players are found guilty of taking illegal drugs then the club and its directors will also be in the firing line - not the last of which will be by the players looking to sue for loss of reputation, damages, lost income etc etc....

The green guy?? Yeah. -
Wow, just wow.

So you are really saying she reported acurately. Just because we didn't like what we read doesn't mean it wasnt true. The Schwab comment is hyperbole but she was pretty spot on for the rest. And I assume it was coming straight from Adrian Anderson/Gil McLaughlin,,

Wow, this is pretty interesting.. http://www.smh.com.au/afl/cas-concern-over-why-bombers-omitted-to-mention-thymosin-injections-20151204-glfnbm.html The EFC players dod not mention the hundreds of injections nor thymosin when interviewed in 2012. The inference being that if there was nothing to worry about and they were being above board why wouldn't they have mentioned it.... Ooh, there is some pain to come...

You assume correctly!
