Firstly your post comes across as quite beligerent. And you make several statements of 'fact' that are in fact incorrect. This whole WADA investigation is 'de novo' - ie: from scratch. I have it first hand that there is a lot of new evidence so I am not sure where you are getting your information from. WADA have done new interviews and can bring any new evidence they deem relevant. As well as treat any existing evidence in any way they want. If WADA find the EFC guilty to their comfortable satisfaction - which may well be a different level of comfortable staisafaction to the AFL tribunal - the AFL will have to hand down the penalties as I understand it. If the players are found guilty then the EFC - who have not been punished for running a banned drug program - will most likely have to be punished further. Now they may decide they have been punished enough. The AFL want this to go away after all. But they would be within their rights and I think under pressure to punish the club further.

I think you are wrong here. The Essendon Football Club have been charged under the AFL rules in relation to the supplements program at the club in 2011/2012. They are all charged with engaging in conduct that is unbecoming or is likely to prejudice the reputation of the Australian Football League, or to bring the game of football into disrepute, contrary to AFL rule 1.6. "As such, at the present time, there will be no infraction notices issued under the AFL anti-doping code. I know the investigation into Essendon's 2011/2012 supplements program by ASADA and the AFL remains open and could lead to further charges under the AFL rules, against other individuals. Infraction notices under the AFL anti-doping code, against individual Essendon players or other persons, could also result if further information comes to hand The punishment was not for taking banned drugs. It was for bringing the game into disrepute. The AFL can add new charges if further information comes to light.

Colin Sylvia had OP........... .........for about 10 years................ -
And this: "Details of the charges released by the Melbourne Magistrates Court show Essendon administered substances without properly informing the club doctor or receiving proper consent from its players." So in a court of law they have admitted this. So who made the decision to do that? What players asked questions? Or checked on the programme? What did the Doctor do? Why is he still practicing? Why are the decision-makers still allowed to be around sporting clubs? They dig themselves a deeper hole every time they have to answer a different body. The AFL conveniently ignores it because it doesn't wan to risk blow back from Demetriou's actions... Sad

Players tend not to lose their strength when they lose weight so I would still expect Oliver to be a total bull. -
The problem with this RGRS, as I have said numerous times beofre on here, is that if you replace EFC with the Chinese swim team you get a different perspective. You can't have an athlete saying, 'my coach and doctor told me to take it'. The systemic Russian and East german athletic programmes mean that clean athletes are cheated. It seems clear they were all duped but that's tough for them. Tough too for Raelene Boyle missing out on gold medals and tough too for the 17 other clubs that were playing EFC during that period. The drug code just simply can not work that way. That's why athletes are totally responsible. They can't outsource that responsibility. And as for all the training about drugs you can't tell me not ONE single player spoke to someone outside the club like their wife or manager or personal doctor etc? It beggars belief. Oh that's right, It was a black ops. I mean really? The EFC and its players were looking for an adge and were pushing the boundaries. They threw common sense outthe window and relied on the vibe that Dr Reid was overseeing thr programme. And Dank? I mean FFS one look at Dank and you would seriously question his credentials wouldn't you? He's a freaking witch doctor. Reid should never practice again, How he is still in place at the EFC is beyond me, The players. Unbelievably stupid and should be banned for 2 years. The club administrators should never be able to be associated with a sporting team again, The club should be banned for another two years minimum. There is no half-pregnant when it comes to drugs. Either you take the hard line or dont bother. The players have yet to be punished. They deserve the book thrown at them.

Bruce Reid was suppoedly on the outer. And then he write the infamous self-serving 'dog ate my homework' letter to the board that noone claims receiving This This is simply not believable. So for mine the players were in on the Hird train. 'everyone's doing it' and 'Bomba said this is what Geelong did' 'Bring the good stuff we are playing Carlton this week" They are as guilty as sin.

Not sure why they don't use Grimes in a lock down role and free up Bernie. Grimes is super fit and can defend. Could be a Crowley... Love his commitment, its just his disposal tthat has to be fixed..

Didn't Watts sign a 3 year deal at the start of 2015?

I am a little suspicious (or maybe just a nagging doubt) of the drastic change but you know at 17/18yo you think you are pretty bullet proof and know better than everyone else etc so maybe it just took him a bit longer. The highlights package is impressive and if that is his trajectory and he can continue that after having decent training and diet etc then perhaps his upside is actually pretty high. Personally I so like a guy who has had to battle to get where he is as opposed to the guy that is a star in the U12's all the way through to the TAC Cup like a $cully. Perhaps the nagging doubt is that this type of player is not a pick 4 but a pick 10-15. But we seem to have gone for grunt vs silk and grunt is good for mine -
Seriously?? I would go as far as saying they were drafted because we liked them and we had spots on our list....

Tight bonding is good for player retention as well...
