  1. The Hawks do this as well. And the number of times a ball is skied or kicked poorly because of the pressure is amazing. The kicker needs to sprint back far enough in the first place to a position where he can make a rational disposal decision without fear of being spoiled.
  2. That's a great idea. I think at the moment the boundary umpire runs to stand next to the point post....
  3. Another annoying one is when a mark or free is paid in the 50m arc. Our players will often move closer to the boundary as they have zero awareness of trying to incrase the angle. Similarly when an oppo player is lining up they will creep a few degrees towards the centre. Our player on the mark will often move closer to the 90degree line making it easier for the ump and the oppo player instead of trying to get the ump to move the kicker closer to the boundary or 'enforce' the correct line.
  4. Its what is infuriating about umpiring. They focus on a rule for a week and then bang, its consigned to the bin
  5. I have read a few of your posts and you have a very poor understanding of football or you are simply trolling. Hunt is the only player keeping Hunt out of the team. He was dropped.
  6. Yeah but you're a hero
  7. Yep Fake news again...
  8. Brayshaw has flat out denied he would even contemplate a move in an interview.
  9. I doubt anyone is reading your diatribe. But you can try this it will probably work better for you.....
  10. LOL
  11. Sure OD. Not commenting on that, merely that the poster i was referring to suggested we fold too quickly in negotiations. What Lever has done since is of course still up for debate..
  12. You can have that perspective but I see it differently. Melbourne knows what they want and they are pragmatic about getting it. You don't get points for not doing deals and being obstinate like Collingwood and Essendon used to be. You have a small window to get deals done and limited ammunition in terms of picks and trades. You don't deal in a vacuum. there are a myriad of factors at play. Watts was not wanted by us or by anyone other than Port. Fact. Get the deal done and move on. As for Lever, the same applied. a ready made AA type young gun player to Melbourne. When was the last time that happened? I mean really. Who was the last young gun to want to come to Melbourne? I'll wait.....
  13. He is the least of our issues at the moment and there are others ahead of him in the non-performance stakes. ANB's effort can't be questioned. Harmes, Lewis, Bugg are having nightmare starts to the year (Bugg was OK the previous week). Even Garlett who turns it on occasionally but with a sniff of mositure in the air goes missing should be under the pump. And a fave of mine, Jetta, has had a very poor start to the year - he does look to be playing in pain but if that's the case get him out to rest.
  14. Over-egging the pudding.....much?
  15. His spoil to the goal square wasn't OK.
  16. What structure would that be? I wasn't aware we had one. Agree with your outs but Weid won't come in.
  17. I wouldn't have thought so. They seem to get on and you can tell there is comaraderie.
  18. In that video the Umpire says you are allowed to 'screen' or put "a passive block" on a player. As soon as he makes contact with the man on the mark though it is a free kick to the man on the mark, This is being badly umpired (surprise) but should in any case be rubbed out of the game.
  19. Its staggering that someone could type that and think that it is our fault. Someone has been eating too many cheese platters.
  20. It's never good when players throw the towel in. They did that yesterday. It is usually a sign of trouble with the coaching ranks or lack of on-field leadership. I suspect we have a bit of both. I wonder what the instructions were at 3/4 time when we hadn't kicked a goal in 2 quarters of football?
  21. Hibberd seems to me to be playing further up the ground than he was last year. he was really the rock in the last line. Now he appears to be a link man.
  22. I watch the games at least twice and you are clutuching at straws
  23. Hilarious. You don't understand football and couldn't be more wrong. Why did Roos spend the first 12 months trying to teach the team about defence? Which teams win Grand Finals? Richmond played 3 finals and let through 8, 5 and 9 goals in September. Yet you think we can let teams score 80 points in a half of football with 20 scoring shots from 24 i50 entries like we did against Geelong? Are you Sinmon Goodwin because he seems to think that too.
  24. Great. He can run. But he has very little impact.

    Bugg

Bugg should be dropped. He is so nervous about making mistakes or doing the wrong thing he has lost all instinct. There was a point when he was in the fwd 50 and on his left foot he instead handballed to Harmes who was in a worse position and had to kick on his left foot - which he duly missed. You could actually 'see' his thought process. To me it encapsulated how he is playing. I used to think that he was kicking points and it would be a different conversation if he kicked 15g 9h instead of the opposite. But he is a clear liability now.
