  1. Bottom line is those centering passes rarely ever work and you miss 100% of the shots you don't take
  2. We only let the guard down defensively in the final 10 minutes or so though, I felt. A lot better than usual. Up until then they were hopeless at finding targets
  3. Funny that no one's name is mentioned in this article. A-grade midfielders only exist in the mind of the pursuer
  4. Our game plan's improved, we're using the corridor a lot more although we are missing plenty of targets when we do, forcing us to be more conservative as the game goes on.
  5. I hope we wear it against the Dogs, Blues or Freo or it's just a waste of fabric Well white can make you look fatter
  6. Cross has really upped his kicking rate this year. (162 kicks, 166 handballs compared to 123, 244 last season)
  7. I'll take this win anyday. But I'm more worried about the next day when we play with the same mindset but suddenly leak 5-6 goals against a better side. I hope today's win has shown that we've turned the corner. But it must just show that Brisbane really suck. Last year's game they kicked 6 in a row to end the game
  8. Even with a kick from the goal square he did a long and stuttering run up. I don't think Hogan's kicking is much of an issue, it's not the best, for it's far from ordinary
  9. I still question Michie's ability at AFL level. He's really good at stoppages in the VFL but I haven't seen him transition smoothly into the middle for us, his lack of versatility makes it hard for us to play him.
  10. Ah yes, the umpiring was poor. That 50 against JKH is something they never pay anymore, happens basically every game and goes uncalled. As for the genuine attempt thing, most of the time that's pretty much the umpire guessing. I saw Casey yesterday and the umpire just balls it off when a player has the ball pinned to him rather than showboating and using jargon. Do they ever point out what a genuine attempt actually is? They just decide to call it holding the ball when they've waiting too long to whistle for a ball up, it's stupid
  11. Hogan's deceptively quick. He can turn up at half back in the blink of an eye and take a contested mark like he never moved from the 50
  12. Midfielders. We had an off game in the midfield, but our defence more than made up for it. I'm not too worried although I think Gawn can tire easily
  13. After watching him train during the week I'm confident he'll be in the mix
  14. Probably just dropping out of the game for lengthy periods. He is seriously skilled and speedy though
  15. And Leuenberger. Don't some on this forum want us to get him?
  16. Promising today were the games of whipping boys Howe and Dawes, definitely helped set up from the get go. Also, Viney made Rockliff non existent for most of the game and we had promising form from all of our defence (although we should've since the Lions had no forward line). Not much to gloat about though. Plenty of poor kicking by our midfield. Great to see Stef Martin dropping marks too
  17. I can't believe it. In Rounds 5-7 we had the final score of 50 in 3 consecutive weeks, now we've had 3 weeks in a row of scoring 60.
  18. I think Cross is a role we need and Gawn is our best ruck option. I think McDonald is firm in his role too. Apart from that it's a fair assesment. I'd argue we're playing too many unproven young players who all had pretty poor games last week. Newton looked ok early in the season and looked as though he could play out the season but he's fallen off the radar, Fitzy played a couple of solid games in defence and Toumpas has been unlucky too If it weren't for significant injuries this season I think we could've made greater inroads into firming a best 22.
  19. Buy a packet of pencils just so I can take out my anger on them
  20. We should give Jordie a farewell game. Or several to get his currency up. In fact let's just play the whole damn Casey team so their currency gets up
  21. North omitted Lindsay and they're finally showing some consistency. It was a big call but could prove to be a good one
  22. You'll find there's about 30 old-timers who'll get upset you aren't referring to them as the Roys when they're in Melbourne
  23. This is the quality content I've been after: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2015-07-17/unwanted-visitor
  24. Surprisingly I didn't see any. (Although I did get there 20 mins in or so). Out of that main group Viney was doing the most goal kicking. Most of the drills were focused on ball movement and run
