  1. he had 17. lets not inflate his stats now. and can people tell me why we would lose to richmond, fremantle and west coast at the mcg? We will win all 3, putting us on 4 wins..so lets not hope for 1 upset otherwise we will end up with neither scully or butcher
  2. interestingly, it s probably the worst game Newton has played for a month. cant believe Watts was promoted before him. wth
  3. 15 possesions 10 kicks 5 handballs 3 marks 0 goals if anyone has actually watched his last 2 weeks he has been so far up the ground that his chances of kicking a goal are very slim
  4. okay. so what do we all expect from him? I think he will get about 15 touches playing up the ground. no goals
  5. he isnt ready. if he gets promoted so should robbo, petterd, jurrah, bartram, newton and cheney. if it was to be fair
  6. I hope all of our young players play really well and we just lose. I want to win a flag. Beating collingwood would be a short-term gain with potentially a massive risk to our long term future.
  7. i think the answer jack watts would have provided would have been 'look at this moment in time i'm just trying to do my bit for Vic metro. I think all the 22 players that take the field in the final rounds of the season would attest to the fact that they are busting their gut for the pride of the jumper'. Nice professional answer
  8. some people are walking contradictions. You say that you want picks 1 + 2, yet you want us to beat collingwood. Okay so we beat collingwood. Then we beat Richmond, West Coast and Fremantle. ALL WHO WE PLAY AT THE MCG! that takes us to 5 wins. Good-bye picks. And thats assuming we lose to essendon, north melbourne and port adelaide at the mcg. Be careful what you wish for
  9. says the guy with a morton avatar. my avatar also highlights why we shouldnt praise Watts like God
  10. im sorry, but there is a big difference between being NAMED IN THE BEST and being IN THE BEST. watts didn't play a bad game but there was no way known he was in our best. petterd, jurrah, robbo, cheney, dunn, valenti, newton and hughes were all better. not to mention the casey listed players in wall, silvagni and faulks. just my opinion, but i think watts shouldnt debut this year. well he might be good to debut for the sake of debuting but i'd prefer to wait until he is going to get some worthwhile stats, instead of cheap ones.
  11. lol yes and no. He is so much better than miller it isnt funny. Not to mention Bate. Every now and again a player comes around and for some reason he is criticised for absolutely no reason. He works harder off the ball than any of our forwards, he is the best marker of the footy on our list and is just in a bad time in terms of kicking conversion. People want watts to debut, but i cant see it happening when Newton is playing the way we want watts too. Absolutely ripping it up for the past month
  12. well he seemed to be playing everywhere to be honest. he definitely played half back but also in the middle. I don't think he played much in the forward line at all. he might have rested there, but most of his touches were in the half back line/middle
  13. hey guys. Strauss - had 32 touches and 9 marks. Despite having one kick-in clanger (that gave the opposition a goal) his disposals were good. he also kicked a nice running goal from 45m. Wheately- Had 19 touches, 5 marks. Played quite well with his disposals. Zomer- 10 kicks, 3 handballs, 5 goals. Kicked 2 goals in the first 5-10 minutes then kicked one in the 2nd, one in the 3rd and one in the 4th. His best game this year. Petterd- 27 touches Cheney- 32 touches Watts 22 touches Jurrah- 14 touches 3 goals Robbo- 3 goals 6 behinds Newton- 18 touches. Cant remember how much he kicked. But he is easily in our best 22...and its basically tanking that he isnt in our team Valenti- 27 touches Mckenzie- Very very quiet, under 15 touches Jetta- he got a bit of it but didnt finish off his good work. This is as good as my memory can get me.
  14. Well nah. I think considering i posted a Casey Scorpions match review from the sunday game in BALLARAT that you would have assumed that I didnt see the game. Thanks everyone else for the links and options. cheers guys
  15. hey guys this leads me to a question. I don't have foxtel and whenever I go to watch some of the game on the internet via the afl website, it never works. Itsalways lagging, buffering, glitching and freezing. Is there any IT guru's out there that can possibly turn those videos into a simple format like youtube? I still haven't seen the melbourne hawthorn game and I particularly want to see Stefan Martins goal in the last quarter but i cant. so frustrating!
  16. In football there are 3 scenarios; when your team has the ball, when the other team has the ball and when the ball is contested. Nathan Jones is the best at the latter situation..and for that reason alone..must remain in the team.
  17. lol. of course he is still playing well. He was only cut because of our youth policy. He would still embarrass the likes of jamar, spencer and paul johnson if he came back now.
  18. this is going in one great big circle. Because its going straight back to the 'whether you can change your kicking action over time'...I personally believe no. You can improve your kicking action only slightly, but not with any dramatic changes with the kicking style that would be notice-able. Bate, Frawley etc will always have the same awkward kicking styles whereas Davey, Mclean, Green are kicking as well now as they did in their first seasons. Basically, as soon as you debut thats what you're going to be getting in terms of foot skills for the remainder of that players career. You might say robbo has improved his kicking...which would be correct, but his kicking action is still awkward.
  19. wot da fek. grimes does not having foot skills remotely comparable to wheately. Grimes is criticised for his kicking skills whereas wheately's boot was the sole reason he made a career for himself.
  20. well i dont believe his disposals were high class. he hardly stood out. i was doing the stats with binoculars and i was watching pretty closely. a lot of his handballs were under pressure and put his man under a lot of pressure. he had some good kicks and some not so good kicks. The most promising thing has been his ability to find the footy.
  21. Refer to my match summary guys. My summary is not biased to our high draft picks. Watts had no influence on the game despite his 23 touches. Strauss also got many cheap stats which is why his 36 touches didnt manage to get him into the firsts. he will get promoted though Dunn, Bell were good, Jamar great. Newtons pressure and tackling was the best I've seen from a big man in 10 years, at any level. 50 metre chase downs, ground thumping tackles. I'd put him in our best melbourne listed players too, despite kicking the 1 goal 4.
  22. Freak

    Ricky Petterd

i like petterd. he is one of only a few that will put his whole body on the line. He contests and contests. I rate him very highly and when he puts on even more weight he will be important when we hopefully have a crack at winning this thing.lol
  23. meh whatever. i do the stats..and I posted them. providing everyone with more stats and info than u did. just say thanks and move on or i will just make u wait for them to come out mid-week
  24. Hey guys. James Strauss had 24 disposals to half time. He finished with 36. Mostly cheap stats but don't think he made 1 mistake by foot which was promising. Wheately had 22 possessions to half time before sitting out the2nd half for whatever reason Spencer had 18 touches Jurrah had 13 touches, 6 marks and 2 goals. Zomer had 12 touches. Did nothing. In the seniors: Watts finished with 22 touches but had no influence on the match. no goal assists, no contested marks and no scores. Dunn had 24 touches. Was great in the clearances and his tackling. Was arguably our best demons. Does tend to blaze away a bit..but thats the way i think the game should be played. just get the ball moving forward. Jamar had 25 touches and 12 marks. Best on ground for casey i'd say Cheney had 8 kicks, 13 handballs for 21 touches. some good overhead marks but not a great game by cheney. Did his job i guess. Newton had 15 disposals but 1 goal 4 behinds. His chasing and tackling was the best in the team and I've never understood people criticising his lack of effort when he was clearly our best at this today. MacNamara- 17 disposals. Just a game. Not bad and not great. Not as good as previous games anyway.
