  1. where to??????? how bout the gym to put on some muscle. No wonder the guy has calf problems, he is skin and bone.
  2. Warnock made quite a few mistakes today. But i liked him taking on a couple of port players then kicking a goal after we stuffed around with the ball. Plus Belly's pressure and determination to stop Ebert (or whoever) kicking the easiest of goals and then picking it up and clearing it was good. Petterd should get the bloody NAB rising star nomination for the round - 2 weeks of domination for a new kid on the block. Johno's lunge in the centre during the fourth then handing it off to yze (i think) - he definately turned his form around from last week. Yze - got plenty of the ball and since going to Sandy has definately not discraced. Dunny - For taking the meaning being accountable for your man to another level, when he followed Chad Cornes over to where Kane Cornes was being put on the stretcher. Quite a few mfc players should take a hard look at what accountability means. Doggy Brown - For taking on the opposition and having a crack, backing himself. Sure disposal wasn't always fantastic, but he rebounded pretty well.
  3. I'd be sending Bruce to Sandy before Bate.
  4. I can't believe some of the posts here. Bate had a bloody good game today. he presented and the footy stuck in his hands every time. Was no where near our worst. Going on what he did today, i'd be sending Frosty back to Sandy........... sorry Zeb's.
  5. 16,000 for those who did not turn up. For shame. At the time when our club needs us the most, only 14,000 or so supporters come out and get behind the team. But for those who did go, the pride of the MFC really showed. The boys gave it their all and the fans were really rowdy and generated a lot of noise. The team lifted for the fans and the fans lifted for the players. inspirational stuff. 4 hours after the game and i still feel robbed, but the guys played for each other and as weird as it sounds, today was one of my most proudest days to be a member for the MFC.
  6. Atleast Yze Magic is half right on this weeks claims. He predicted us to win by 50 points (or there abouts) - miss However he also said we will start to make our run and charge to the top 4. We gained 3 percent today and Richmond lost 14% from a thumping. We have begun our ascent up the ladder. Watch out Carlton......Here we come!!!
  7. Could not agree with you more Dees64. Sure we have had injuries this season, WGAF. I would even be tempted to trade some of our more experienced players. We only have 2 players that are willing to take the game by the throat and turn it on its head. Neita, who's gtone by the end of next year and McLean, who will always be injury prone. Danners has had a decade to get the list he wants, the majority of that list are too mentally soft. The first quarter against Sydney was a shocking effort. We didn't even try (atleast it look like that). The attitude from the majority of our players sucks. Danners can't control this. But if they just aren't trying then they aren't playing for the guernsey or the coach. If that's the case we need a new coach. And our players need a kick up the arse.
  8. Lynden Dunn's game was good i thought. Frosty kicking 3 goals in a game............in a quarter!!!! Wow if he had bagged amother one in the 4th he would have equalled his total goals last year in only 1 quarter. Too bad they were all when the game was well and truly over.
  9. Well, considering that no team has ever made the finals from a 0-4 start to the season, we ain't going to go anywhere. Just more of the same unfortunately.
  10. Sandilands and Lade in the top 50???? another classic Sheahan 50.
  11. I would have thought Brad Green moreso than Bruce
  12. Does anyone know who the bloke was that was smashed going for a mark in his (blue ends) forward 50? He was wearing a #5 blue guernsey and showed great courage going for a Robbo kick that set him up to be pulverised. Looked nasty, but he got up straight away. It was in the third quarter.
  13. I was reading an article about this fiasco in 'The Age'. They hit the nail right on the head. There are 2 guys that bet less than $10 on another team not playing against them (Hale and the Sydney bloke), they get named and shamed, whilst there are 3 players who have been caught doing drugs twice and are kept protected under the AFL's code of conduct. Obviously what Wardy did was a serious lack of judgement (especially given the fact he bet on a match his team was involved in - but not against his own team which is i suppose a positive if you can call it that) But how can the AFL be serious about giving a possible $100K fine and an indefinite sentence, when they are protecting 3 player's from being named and refuse to name the player's that have been caught dealing with drugs TWICE and yet release names for what i consider is a far less serious offence? This comparison really puts it all into context and shows up the AFL big time.
  14. In the middle part of the article Buckley talks about the work that he, Licuria and Holland have all put in and that the rewards will come for them. I happen to agree with this! Holland is putting in the hard yards now and his reward is a nice 5-6 week stint on the sidelines at the beginning of the season! Well done Brodie, with the work you have done in the off season and the dog act you did in last year's QF, you truly deserve your reward!!!
  15. This might have been answered in another thread (apologies if it has). Will the Telstra Dome be open to the public when we train there next Tuesday?
  16. I read somewhere (on the board) that Trav had broken his toe? is this so, or....?
  17. i saw the highlights of the practice match on Sports Tonight last night and there was one contest where a guy was on top of the back and crashes into the turf big time. That the contest you're talking about Redleg?
  18. I have said it a few times, in a couple of years time, hopefully beginning this year, Danny Hughes will run rampant on the HFF and Chris Johnsone the HBF. Danny also has quite a kick on him.
  19. I have long been a 'Frosty' supporter. Sure he doesn't kick too many goals a season, but he is basically the only one that leads up the ground. Without him, we would have far less entries into our forward 50.
  20. Personally it think it's great!!! Only a couple of minutes drive from my house
  21. Sure, soccer has taken off in Melbourne, but if the stadium were to be built by 2008, the hype of the world cup and victory would have settled down by then and soccer will be somewhat similar to a couple of years ago. IMO a 50k seat stadium is needed ATM, but not in 2008. The Government should build us the stadium anyway. Stuff the rest (aka Melbourne Victory)
  22. I've met Jeff White a few times. The first was a few years back at the airport when he was going to get his shinguard fitted/measured. He was checking in and running a bit late for his plane, but was more than happy to talk to me for around 5 minutes. Top bloke!!!
  23. Hopefully these "heaps" of sightings means our supporter base is getting bigger and bigger!!!
