  1. There is a kid named Henderson, his first name i'm pretty sure is Lachlan, and he is a KP forward. He represented Vic Country this year. He will go in the top 10. I reckon he could be our answer to our key CHF. We need to trade the likes of Bruce, TJ or Green in order to get a draft pick in the top 10. I reckon he has got what it takes to hold down CHF.
  2. well yes, but only because it is the only thing that we would have done this year. It's about time that there was signs of life from any part of the MFC, on-field or off.
  3. Sheedy would be a good coach for the MFC. But he will need to let CAC do his job. Sure he can have input into decisions, just not as much as he has had at Essendon. There is a reason why CAC is recruiting manager, because he is pretty good at his job. He studies these kids throughout the entire year, and knows their skills and attributes. Plus he knows what we need as a team.
  4. Sure, he was good leading forward, and at times our only forward player willing to go down and get the ball. But CHF is the most important ground on the field along with CHB. You base your team around these positions. Miller can barely kick the ball 45 meters and only kicks about 10 goals a season. For a CHF that's not good enough. And don't say he hasn't been given the opportunity, he has been given the CHF role many times, he has done alright, but has rarely dominated a game. I know that we aren't gonna get another Oxe, but we need someone who can kick 40+ goals a season and can easily kick a goal from outside the 50. The fact is Miller just isn't the typical CHF like Jonathon Brown or Pavlich. And with the likes of Bate and Dunn coming through as utility CHF's, they cover Miller's best attribute when he is CHF (his presentation and running). Now i wouldn't just give Miller away for nothing, he is a young KPP that has decent size. There will be clubs out there interested in him. If we do get a decent trade for him, and he happens to play good footy for that club, good on him. He would be playing good footy and we would have received something decent in return. Win, Win situation.
  5. Viney wouldn't take any crap from the players either. He would be more than capable from taking over from Sheedy (if both came to the club).
  6. I don't think he will get the votes this week. Edwards mark was pretty good. I did vote for Fergo though.
  7. Great news to hear about Jones' nomination. It was only half a season overdue. Yep agree with everyone, we have an absolute ripper in Jones. Only his second year too. He won't win the rising star, but woop dee doo. His continual growth is amazing. Give him a few years, and he will be the second coming of Viney (but with a better kick).
  8. Sheedy or Ratten for me. Sheedy because he is a master coach, for those who worry about the fact he plays favourites, so what. He won't be able to do that if he came to Melbourne. He doesn't really know any of the players too well. The only one i think he would play favourites with is Flash, and we are a better team with him in. He also likes to have the Aboriginal boys in the 50, coz he knows they can pull a rabbit out of a hat. Flash plays best in the forward line, running down opponents, ala 2004-2006. Sheedy is a huge tick for mine, and not only that, the amount of media coverage, sponsorship, etc he would bring to the place would be a lot more than our abilities to do so at the moment. Ratten having already been an assistant coach back in '04, knows the list better than any other candidate, besides Reilly. Our midfield was fantastic back in 2004, along with Thompson  He too would be a coach i would have no problem with in taking the reigns at Melbourne. I'm happy with either guys coaching Melbourne, with Sheedy slightly ahead. Here's just a thought. Would we be happy to get Neill Craig (aka Craig David) as coach if he were to become available? Just a hypothetical
  9. This years GF with the retirees doing a lap of honour will be something. Hird, Kouta, possibly Buckley.
  10. Although his end years weren't that spectacular, when he was in his prime, he was one of, if not the best player in the competition.
  11. I never said that weight loss = weak, i just said that i feel for Jones because he needed to lose a fair bit of muscle, which is a lot of hard work to gain, and whilst he has had individual success, the team has gone backwards in a big way. He sacrificed for the team, and got very little back from it.
  12. You forgot our other first round pick we'll get for one of Bruce, Green and TJ. One, if not two of them need to be traded, if we are serious about re-building.
  13. It ain't the boards fault that the team are playing so poorly. After a 0-9 start to the season, Daniher needed to go and PG was quite firm with his approach, which should be commended. Now at a time where we are in the market for the best possible coach, you want to take action leading to instability on the board. Why on earth would a new coach want to coach a team that will unstable in the very short term future. If you really love the club, you will wait until the MFC appoint a new coach, then ask to speak to PG privately (if you're able to get through) What he and Steve Harris have done financially for this club needs to be appreciated, sure we're in debt, but without these 2, we'd be even further in debt with that $ amount growing by the month.
  14. i feel sorry for Jones. At the end of last year he was an absolute tank. It takes a lot of hard work, sweat and pain to get to where he was. It's a big commitment to stay focused and achieve what he did at such a young age, then for Daniher and Bodan to tell him to lose weight (most of which was muscle), would not only be a slap in the face, but for the so called run and carry plan to completely backfire, making Jones give up something that he worked so hard to achieve would no doubt be in the back of his mind. It would sure be in mine, and i'd be extremely pi$$ed for having put so much effort in to achieve something, sacrificing his reward for hard work and commitment, to receive nothing in return, except maybe a lack in confidence going into next year.
  15. Unfortunately, too many MFC players do not fully understand the fact that this is their job. Sure, there are down times in every job, but not one's that last 22 weeks. Maybe all the players should be put on a performance based contract. Lets see where there hearts lie then. It appears that many play for the $, and not the guernsey, which is really quite sad. Not one players salary should be over $200,000 next year, hell they shouldn't be over $50,000 for the crap that they are continually serving up. if i was getting paying on average $200,000 - $250,000 a year, i would make sure that i was damn good at my job, so i wouldn't get the axe. Why do i even bother being concerned, it's not as if the MFC gives a [censored].
  16. One of Bruce or Green need to go at the end of the year. I'm hoping it will be the former, he has greater currency and i suspect is on more $$$.
  17. Point taken, and yes we need some serious time in the gym over summer. Daniher and Bohdan had no idea. Having said that, it's funny that we beat the Crows and were half their size, and that the crows have only won 2 of their last 8 games. So clearly, size is not everything. But again, Geelong went into the season as the heaviest team, and look where they are now.
  18. Don't you know that SA and WA footy callers are the most biased in the business? They're 100 times worse than Eddie 'Everywhere' and Michael Christian put together, and that's looking at it conservatively.
  19. Looking at the top option of going for glory, i had to ask myself "what glory would be achieved if we won all of our last 6 games?" 9 wins from a season is hardly glorious for a team touted as making top 4 that year. i would name the first option as "go hell for leather and do the unthinkable, win 3 of our last 6 games" If it said that, maybe i would have chosen that option.........................nah who am i kidding, of course i wouldn't.
  20. Maybe when the bloke lining his pockets with astronomical amounts of money gets the arse or resigns.
  21. Well he is a very cryptic person.
  22. For the same reason that Ottens went for 2 first rounders, and why Tarrant went for a 1st rounder + Medhurst in a very strong draft. Don't forget that this draft has less depth compared to previous years. Bruce would command the highest price, followed by TJ then Green. Which is fine by me, as i think of the 3, Green should stay at the club, unless a really good deal was to arise. And as Jaded said, a team seemingly on the verge of success would pay a high price for the likes of Bruce.
  23. If Sheedy were to coach the dees, he would need to allow CAC to do his job. By all means he could have input, just to a lesser extent that he did at the scum.
  24. Point taken,........... but where do you really stand?
  25. Staker was holding his opponent & visa versa, the ball was just about passed him, he stuck out the mitt and took it as cleanly as a whistle, whilst pretty much being parallel to the ground. Was a great mark as well, but doesn't have the WOW factor of a true speccie. Juice got that one down pat easily.
