As i said in my post, i'd do it in a heartbeat. Treloar would instantly become our best player. Roosy just seems to be infatuated with big-bodied midfielders for some reason. Once he increases his running capacity and settles into the AFL environment a bit more, i reckon VDB could be this for us. It's apples and oranges though, as i'd have a better chance of winning the lottery than Treloar coming to the Dees.

I reckon it would be a very low base contract. Toumpas was on very shaky ground, he would've probably known this himself and settled for a low salary contract to try and resurrect his career. Given it is a shallow draft and we would've got next to nothing for him if we were to trade him, his upside would be of more benefit to us than say a pick 60+ in this draft.

Tom Lynch is not a KPF, but he is a leading target (and compared to Dawes, he definitely would not be a backward step. Finds way more of the ball too). The only problem we would have, re: Dawes, is that we may well have to pay some of his contract if we are to release him early (he is on quite a bit).

Feel gutted for him. Ratts is a great bloke, met him a couple of times and he was always so genuine. Our footy heartache is so insignificant when compared what he must be feeling. Our pain may last for a year or 2, his will last for the rest of his life.
