Gwilt is playing on Dawes. He love to run off his player, so Dawes should be told to take him back to the goal-square as often as possible. It will negate his run and force him to play defense (weak part of his game)

If going by the afl stats, a lot of players aren't seeing much of the pill (both sides), it's just that their major ball-winners are getting it a lot more than ours. We're definitely playing to their gameplan atm.

It also means that there's one less player to tag. So our best tagger can then go to Zaharakis or whoever. As for odds for the game given injuries etc, knowing us and coming back from Darwin, it's still very much a danger game. I'll be happy with the 4 points (no matter how we get them)

If anything, i would've thought that it was Roos and the coaching staff that were believing the hype (and their good work in developing him). So they thought he had become the clear #1 backman, even on the monster FF's. Maybe it was them who got ahead of themselves and thought their job was just about done.

I'd take Parish ahead of Balic, but if we ended up selecting him (assuming we have the pick after trade week), still would be a good result. More quality for the midfield is never a bad thing.

I'd have been a lot more confident of a good showing next weekend, if we hadn't played in Darwin this week. Backing up the next week is always bloody hard. The AFL continues to perplex with scheduling us for the Darwin game a week after the bye??? Maybe it's a good thing, as excuses aside, we will truly see who wants to be an MFC player this coming game.
