  1. Before Academy Selections: #3 - Oliver (where there's smoke..........) #7 - Weideman (hopefully he'll be available, if he is we need to pull the trigger) #45 - Lovell (our draft pick will go up a fair few places, his height could see him slide - though it really shouldn't) #49 - Gach Nyuon (we need some more ruck support and he may not be there come rookie draft time)
  2. He'd be a top 10 pick (possibly top 5) if he was 10cm taller.
  3. The last time i changed my mind a few days out from the draft on a mid who we should pick up, i switched from Ollie Wines to Toumpas. So does that mean if i was on the Parish train for quite a long time, but now on the Oliver one, Oliver is doomed to fail and Parish become an instant star? Or is it my second chance to get it right?
  4. Nathan Freeman comes to mind
  5. Yes but maybe, maybe, someone deliberately let something slip so as to cover up our true ambitions on who we want to draft. Smoke and mirrors.
  6. Batten down the hatches, Olisik may blow an o-ring.
  7. I couldn't give a brass wazoo abou the IRS.
  8. At least you wouldn't have to wait for him to fill out!
  9. BS Oli. If you had it your way, you'd read out Oliver's name at 3 and then again at 7, just to drive home the fact that we had drafted him!
  10. Either that or we burn him at the stake if Oliver fails. No doubt all of Olisik's bitching and moaning must've been heard by the MFC recruiting team, who didn't want it to go to another level if we passed on Oliver.
  11. you gotta risk it to get the biscuit.
  12. Frost, T Mac and O Mac. There's your 3 KPD's right there. Then there's the likes of Dunn, Pedersen and to a lesser extent Garland. We have bigger holes to fill before we worry about our tall backs.
  13. Landsberger says that Taylor has been going "gaga" over Oliver. Maybe he has, maybe he hasn't. What i want to know is, if the club has been water-tight with leaks (and i believe it has been), how the [censored] would Landsberger know?
  14. I don't know why, but i'm finding that Curnow and Weideman are the 2 guys i'm hoping we land. Even with the respective D/D incident and underwhelming testing. Parish just appears to be very vanilla to me. Curnow has X-factor, plus a tank and big body to possibly make it in the mid-field. Weideman also fills another need for us. KPF who can help out Max in the ruck from time to time.

  16. Bontempelli in his draft year took a huge leap u the ranks at a similar time out from the draft like Oliver has. Similarly, he hadn't been one who had announced himself a long way out like a Parish, Weitering, Schache, etc.
  17. Mathieson reminds me of a poor man's Brock McLean.
  18. He didn't get selected because of OP.
  19. Robbie was an exception (and a freak)
  20. I know that i never have. But it's a bit easier for me, as i don't drink alcohol.
  21. Having spoken to him a couple of times (Petracca), he seems like a lad that only accepts giving 100%, so i doubt he would endorse such an approach from one of his mates at school.
  22. Even if he did, Olisik would have us believe that Oliver had the ability to magically control his BAC levels through sheer willpower!
  23. If the club were interested in him with one of our top picks, this wouldn't scare them off. It just means a little bit of education and support is needed. If we had question marks about him, then we won't be drafting him after this episode.
  24. Said club is so rotten with paper bag dealings, it wouldn't surprise me in the least.
