  1. As usual I agree, Bob, in principal, but if the Tigers satisfy the criteria at the end of 2011 surely they ought get one, if we did. We didnt deserve Sylvia, we didnt deserve Trengove, I would rather other clubs get the same opportunities, than be deemed a club that tanked a premiership.
  2. This is absolute rubbish, the two reasons Richmond didnt bottom out badly were Matthew and Richardson, had he not been there they would have hardly won a game and the fact that they finished 2008 in a blaze of glory, which went against the grain, has cost them dearly. Let's understand what the system is, the system is not there to be utilised, its not something clubs are meant to influence by not playing at their best or by underperforming. the draft rules are a machinery which equalise the competition and in a cyclical way are meant to give every team its chance at the top. Richmond haven't done anything, seemingly, to take advantage of the system, so why when it needs the machinery to improve should it be denied. Its ridiculous. The enemy here is not Richmond, or Melbourne, or tanking, the fact is the new Gold Coast rules are basically going to castrate Richmond in its current form. I dont give a fiddler's f u c k to be honest about the Tigers, but the game wont be well served by them being a basket case and the argument that they have made their bed sleep in it is ridiculous too, otherwise Tigers fans would have been well in their right mind going "[censored] the financially decrepid Demons off five years ago, dont give them handouts, let it stew in the misery of its financial predicament." Sometimes we've got to look beyond just Melbourne FC and to the bigger picture of the game and there is no reason why if we got a pick that the Tigers shouldnt as well when their team is half as good as what ours was last year. The last point is that the year we drafted Grimes, Morton, Maric etc was a year we were trying to do well in but failed. That we've completely rebuilt after that and used the system is fine, calculated and clever, but it was no great 5 year planning miracle, it was foist upon the club.
  3. Youre right I thought Richmond won 4.5 last year, but my point is that Richmond should receive a pre-draft priority pick, like we did, if they are bad enough to warrant it. This would be at the end of 2011.
  4. Richmond's recruiting is irrelevant. Are you saying that Melbourne's recruiting and list management was excellent in the lead-up to three years in the bottom two rungs on the ladder. It's one-eyed drek. Your argument should deem that no team should ever have a priority pick ever and that we should hand back Trengove to the draft. No that's right Melbourne has cleverly been awful, but Richmond are just awful in and of themselves, even though in the last 15 years they have won more home and away games than us.
  5. Why not? What sort of argument is that?
  6. The Tigers deserve a priority picks just as we did. When you say "We've had to work it out" what are you saying? That we needed to be so bad to get the high picks and rebuild. Why shouldnt Richmond get that opportunity. In any case the AFL cant give the Tiges the number one pick because Gold Coast have already committed to drafting David Swallow.
  7. Another stat that matters is that Frawley had 25 possessions whilst the aggregate of his opponents throughout the game today was four possessions.
  8. Pretty sure he had a lot to do with N.Brown and P.Walsh coming to the club
  9. they are the designated substitutes
  10. He's playing, got a whisper from a player sponsor, obviously misinformed or being a smart a**
  11. The Team Is - B: Cheney Warnock Frawley HB: Bennell Rivers MacDonald C: Morton Moloney Green HF: Sylvia Miller Davey F: Spencer Jurrah Jetta Foll: Martin Grimes Rov: McDonald I/C: Jones Petterd McKenzie Trengove Maric Scully Strauss Fitzpatrick
  12. might have to wait awhile, rumour about he's not playing tonight
  13. Dawson didnt have an opponent, as he genuinely let his man run up the field so the Saints would have numerical advantage in its back half, as result nearly every marking contest he was involved in he was in beneficial 2 on 1 scenarios. Sure he did some good things, but he is a liability when the Saints have possession, he almost cost them the game, and if he had to take on a good key forward one on one in a conventional game, he would be comfortably outclassed most of the time.
  14. Peake is lightning quick and a decent wingman - he ran 3rd in the B+F when the Dockers mad the Prelim Final in '06. His passion for football has wavered over the years, but if he was committed to his footy, he would have the talent to be useful contributor. The MCG would suit him.
  15. ABC have great websites and youll be able to watch and download from the 730 report site tomorrow
  16. we'll agree to disagree no doubt, should be interesting to see where he goes
  17. Lewis Jetta will go top 10 Id reckon maybe even sillily hight
  18. Last years would be - Grimes, Maric, Morton, Wonaeamirri, Martin, Valenti This year's - Cheney, Jetta, Jurrah, Bennell, Watts, Spencer, Meesen
  19. In these situations you dont judge the team on the scoreboard. If they lose narrowly after trying their guts out, does that mean they dont care for Jimmy. Like Johnny Farnham I think we'll win, but Ill be proud of them if they put in their most commited display and its not good enough!
  20. In footage of him at Jimmy's press conderence, he was standing without crutches.
  21. GAA minors is the premier under 18 competition in Ireland, basically the TAC Cup. Cribbin is starring for one of the best teams in that competition.
  22. Blease wore 17 for the Eastern Ranges, maybe he will wear that
  23. What were the cirumstances by which Martin Pike left the club?
  24. It was Daniel Connors who shirked for the Tiges, but point well made
  25. 'Killer' Watts has a better ring to it
