I wasn't saying the blood rule isn't important, I was just making a comparison to another 'brain fade' type offence. I think it was introduced in the 90s when there was slightly greater fear of HIV than now and of course the risks of catching HIV or hepatitis on the footy are almost negligible but of course it has to stay, its just a part of good OHS and most major contact sports in the world have the rule in place, so it's always going to stay and for good reason..
