  1. Deep down I think all of us suffer from at least a little MFCSS and at some level, still instinctively believe the worst news. Or we're so on edge that we'll just believe anything anyone says.
  2. Yep, amazing how my brain instantly knew he was kidding but my heart sank anyway and I felt a stab in the guts. This is killing me. I don't think I'm going to make it to Tuesday.
  3. Yes. It's the second tier comp and still a good achievement. Nice to see most of the key Casey players will play this week. Should make a huge difference to their fortunes you would think.
  4. If you're an MFC fan and you're not excited by this, you are broken beyond redemption. Quit now before your mental health deteriorates any further.
  5. Unless Roosy is going to play in the midfield, I still want the PP.
  6. Agreed. In regards to what other footy fans think, my skin has turned to elephant hide in the last 5 years. I just say "whatever you reckon, flogs. You've got no idea what this has felt like."
  7. Woah woah woah! Let's not do anything rash, jr. Just calm down and take a deep breath...
  8. Yes, No T$ No B$ is the biggest ever thread, this is #2. The now locked "Time to go Mark Neeld" thread is currently ranked third, while "Tanking" is fourth.
  9. Petterd's form last year was stunning. Honestly, I'm amazed anyone's even bothering to mention him in the context of "lost" players. Delisting him was an absolute no-brainer on output at the time.
  10. Yes, went a little early on the reply button. Ah well, by the time I've posted this it'll be about 50 pages in anyway. Carry on.
  11. That's how real words come to be: either through misuse of an existing word or the recurring use of a non-existing word. Look for "agreeance" in a dictionary near you soon.
  12. My favourite stat: the "every game" player. Jumper numbers 2 and 45 were our only two for the year. Matt Jones proved the worth of ready made midfielders; he slotted right in and looked at home from minute one without needing the "grounding" time the young guys do. There's a lot to be said for having a body that is ready from minute one. If he can add some polish to his game he'll prove to be a real bargain. As for Nathan Jones - I wouldn't expect any less from him now. Not only is he our best midfielder, but he's also easily our most durable player. He's barely missed a game since his debut. While obviously nature plays a part, it's also a testimony to his professionalism and rigorous recovery practice. Well done lads.
  13. If Roos is a done deal, then I hope Craig gets the Brisbane job. I too have a soft spot for the bloke and just can't see where he would fit in our club with an experienced senior coach at the helm (just being realistic). Thanks Neil. The caretaker job of a struggling club really is the epitome of being on a hiding to nothing, and I think you did well under the circumstances.
  14. Not anywhere near a good enough player to warrant pick 3.
  15. I've spent Nev's whole career wanting more than anything for him to light up. As an MFC supporter, to have a kid who works really hard, is tough as nails turn and made entirely of the right stuff turn out to be no good just seems cruel, but alas, that's what we've got with him sadly.
  16. Nothing provides a guarantee on success, but what is guaranteed is that you won't have success unless you have the best in key roles. This is but one building block in the correct place; as far as pebble goes this one was pretty easy to find and toss out of the shoe.
  17. On the topic of Hawks vs Sydney (I know - super tenuous link to the topic) - Matt Spangher is doing his best Jesus impersonation these days. The man has grown some serious hair and beard since last time I saw him play.
  18. It amused me too Choke. I guess you and I will just float along in whatever non-reality it is we live in
  19. Haha, who couldn't see this coming from a mile away the minute said "I'm not interested... yet"? I guess nobody, since this thread is approaching page 130.

  21. Look, I agree that it's hard to argue that we got amazing value out of Rodan, but this is not the time or place to pan the bloke or carry on about poor recruitment. The guy went in to battle for us and got hurt doing so, to the point where his career is over. Show some respect.
  22. Sue, I don't see why 55's point is so weak. It's all about intent. Freo may lose, but it's not their *intention* to lose, that is just a likely by-product of their strategy to rest players. Clearly our intention was to lose. Anyone who wants to argue the point about the MFC wanting to lose is either being disingenuous, or is just thick. In the same manner that it's not the MFC's intention to make Casey bow out of the finals in straight sets, but it will probably happen for a third year straight as a consequence of MFC's injury management decisions. Are we going to say Melbourne/Casey are tanking now?
