I'm not defensive of Mahoney. I'm asking questions regarding accusations made by you and others in this thread. I dont believe anyone is beyond criticism or scrutiny after this season. Im all for reviews of all positions and abilities. For example if Neal Balme became available wed be crazy as a club to not look in to. I think you need to be very clear about what your asking for. The board would review Mahoney not himself. And if your asking for an external review exactly what areas do u want reviewed? As a real life example. Why didnt the bulldogs make mass changes after their disasters? Did they make mistakes? What can we learn from their experiences?

Although I do agree with the whole boys club thing. Its rife through the AFL and starts at the top. How does Lethlean get another job in the AFL?

haha, just say I have no idea rather then wasting time writing without substance. An external review would only be called for if the whole club had no idea what it's doing or needed help in x area (because of lack or qualified personnel or expertise). If you're saying Mahoney is not qualified - who is?

What exactly are you saying needs to be reviewed by an external party? The structure or ability? Also if you're saying if Mahoney isn't qualified for the position (that he and the MFC need an external expert to do his job for him) then who would you have replace him?

There is a lot of elements of truth to that but you can't just ignore that the more experience you have (in anything) the more consistent and better execution you'll have overall.. Getting that balance right is huge.

Just an observation But wouldn't he failure of Goodwin and Mahoney effectively be a failure by Roos and Jackson? Both appointed by the latter then walked away.... Legacy gone?

I rate Oliver as a good player so don't be derogatory to a contrary opinion Explain the shot at goal in the 4th qtr then? For a so called elite player 20 - 30 meters out? Im not gong to sit here and analyse video but there have been multiple occasions where Oliver has handballed pressure like a hot potato rather than take the responsibility. The players deserve criticism just like the coaches. This is a football forum. Im not suggesting Oliver is a core problem but it is a problem

While I agree with you, I think it's also fair that none of us really know if its coach driven or player related. You can argue both points quite adequately from last night. Take for example Olivers shot at goal.... wtf was that.... But then in chains of play and no forward line your point can be clearly articulated as well. Fact is it has been consistent all year. Im no AFL player or coach (obviously) but Oliver seems to take possession and hot potato it, it is very reminiscent of poorer eras. I am not one of the conspiracy theorist that live on this site, but there is clearly something very wrong down at Demonland at the moment.

Agree Dazzle, keep it up. Oliver is either lazy or stupid. Both him and Brayshaw have bucket loads of talent but are carelessly rushing and not taking care with the ball. Deserves the criticism

Who says we don't accept mediocrity here at Demonland. Now this is overly harsh statement on Frosty as i agree with the sentiment from the op. But to agree you have to accept there are flaws. And this is why i love Demonland. On one hand the sky is falling and on the other we are happy to blindly ignore the issues. Looking forward to expert commentary

I'm not sure if you guys have been following but I can simplify it all for you. It's all Goodwins fault and has nothing to do with 666 or any new rules and something about Pert. I'm also surprised no one has brought up Gil as it seems Pert and Gil don't agree on a few key MFC issues. I actually hope this discussion continues as I really enjoy dissecting the structure and tactics!
