2024 Phantom Drafts
An impressive effort by Cal Twomey. He definitely does his research. I would say he is normally about 80% to 90% correct with his choices. Would be very happy with Harvey Langford. Not so much with Bo Allan from WA, as I would much prefer the Demons take Xavier Lindsay from Victoria. We desperately need players who are excellent kicks and elite decision makers.

Jason Taylor AFL Gettable 18.11.2024
Jason Taylor said a lot without giving much away. Said the Demons are going "best talent available" as is expected. I did note that he is meeting with Simon Goodwin, the other coaching staff and Tim Lamb later today. They will probably go through their final rankings for players and who they believe are the "most" talented in this year's AFL National Draft. I expect it will simply be a case of who falls the Demon's way for both pick #5 and pick 9#.

2024 Phantom Drafts
The bloke who was choosing for us must not have even been a Melbourne supporter or understood our list needs. Nevertheless, it would be fun to "get on the beers" with mates and do a mock Draft. 🤣 Luckily, Jason Taylor gets paid to do player analysis and has probably done a few mock Drafts leading up to next week already.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
Tempted by this option if Shane McAdam decides to quit because he doesn't want to do another AFL Pre-Season.

List Analysis
A harsh but fair analysis. Would of been nice to get the year right though. The Demons will be under pressure to perform in season 2025.

2024 Phantom Drafts
For anyone interested, here is a Full Mock Draft for 2024 done by "PommyinOz" and a few other blokes. Looks like they had a bit of fun doing this actually! Here is the link to it: The guy representing the Demons chose Alix Tauru at pick #5 and Harry Armstrong at pick #9. Not sure why he chose both talls? But everyone is going to have their own unique opinions on who the Demons might choose in the Draft.

Assuming we keep 5 & 9, who are you picking?
Whoever the Demons pick, I just hope they are excellent kicks who can hit a leading target lace out on the chest. Sick of drafting blokes who are terrible kicks and poor decision makers.

The Kalani White Thread
I would let Kalani be. No point speculating too early. Let him just have fun and continue just playing footy. It's a very important decision he will need to make in the next 12+ months. While, we all hope he chooses the Demons, in the end, he has choose what is best for him. I wish him all the very best.

2024 Phantom Drafts
Interesting analysis. However, I would much rather the Demons take the most talented Victorian at pick #9 over Bo Allan from WA. Josh Smillie, Murphy Reid or Xavier Lindsay are much better kicks than Bo Allan too. I am sick of the Demons having players that blindly kick the ball like a mule into the forward line. It drives me bananas! 😵🍌🍌🍌🍌 I want players that can accurately pin point passes with the ball and hit our forwards on the chest lace out!

2024 Phantom Drafts
Excellent stuff mate! 🙂 Great to see more Demons supporters giving their opinions about the upcoming AFL National Draft on YouTube! Personally, I have no idea who Jason Taylor will end up choosing. But I have faith in him choosing some highly rated young guns for the Demons!

Is Riak Andrew worth drafting?

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 13th November 2024
Obviously it is up to them, but I would like to see Clayton Oliver, Jack Billings and Shane McAdam (if he isn't retiring?!) start their Pre-Seasons early with the Demons.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I note that Xavier Lindsay from Gippsland Power is rated quite highly in the ESPN's top 50. This is what they say about him... "Lindsay oozes class with ball in hand as an outside midfielder, with his silky left foot a lethal weapon in his arsenal. He's an outstanding leader and garners rave reviews from coaches about the standards he sets. It's difficult to see how Lindsay doesn't succeed at the next level - he has huge positional versatility with a speed-endurance blend to go with beautiful skills. In a midfield-heavy draft he should be considered firmly in that top group. Best traits similar to: Josh Kelly" Should the Demons consider him with pick #9 perhaps?

The Kalani White Thread
The Demons are looking for a ruck coach. Why not give Jeff White the job so he can move back down to Melbourne?

The Next CEO
Would like to see us approach former Demons player Alistair Nicholson for the role of CEO.

2024 Phantom Drafts
According to today's Herald Sun, Carlton may throw a "curve ball" and choose Sid Draper instead of Finn O'Sullivan. Adelaide would then look to possibly take Harvey Langford. Would the Demons take Finn O'Sullivan if he was available at pick #5? Who is the more talented player? Finn O'Sullivan or Jagga Smith?

Brad Green
I have been quite pleased with Brad Green's job as interim President of the Melbourne Football Club so far. He has been very open with his communication. Hoping he can also resolve the issues that Peter Lawrence and the "Deemocracy" group have. The sooner we can all unify in the interest of the Melbourne Football Club the better.

Assuming we keep 5 & 9, who are you picking?
From what Jason Taylor and Tim Lamb have said, they will take best available talent. For pick #5 I am thinking either Jagga Smith or Harvey Langford. Both amazingly talented players and a lot will depend upon who Richmond, North Melbourne, Carlton and Adelaide take before us. For pick #9 I am thinking one of four players. It could be Xavier Lindsay who is an elite kick and very underrated, it could be Murphy Reid who oozes talent with his decision making skills, it could be Josh Smillie who has the potential to be the next Marcus Bontempelli or, lastly, it could be Taj Hotton, who showed he is supremely talented before he got injured earlier in the season. A lot will also depend upon who Richmond and St. Kilda choose with their picks. Who ever the Demons pick, I have huge faith in Jason Taylor and the rest of the Recruitment Team who I am sure will do their due diligence.

2024 Phantom Drafts
Would Jagga Smith and Xavier Lindsay be the 2 best kicks in this year's AFL National Draft?
