Farewell Brodie Grundy
With pick 21# from GWS going to Brisbane it looks like it is "take it or leave it" for Collingwood to accept pick 27# from Melbourne for Brodie Grundy.

Training Ground?
I think what annoys me the most is that other AFL clubs seem to get training ground and facility upgrades and the Melbourne Football Club is basically ignored. There is the falsehood that we are a wealthy club when we actually are not. In fact, we probably haven't been since the early 1960s when we were aligned with the MCC. I guess we just gotta keep begging and to be patient I guess? 🤷🏼♂️

Farewell Luke Jackson
Hahahahaha! 😁😆😅🤣😂 I like that deal! Draft picks 6# and 7# would be excellent. A cheeky suggestion by Adam Cooney!

Robbie Flower 8 years!
I'm still hoping the MCC will consider putting up a statue of Robbie Flower at the MCG. It would be a fitting tribute.

Tim Lamb on Trade Radio
Tim Lamb is a former police officer who won't put up with rubbish. I expect he may even be looking at his legal options after being publicly defamed by Kane Cornes and called a liar.

Farewell Pick 27
An interesting move. 🤔 Perhaps Melbourne will on-trade pick 27# to GWS for Toby Bedford and pick 21#? Then trade pick 21# to Collingwood for Brodie Grundy perhaps?

Farewell Sam Weideman
I am not against trading Sam Weideman to the Saints. A fresh change of scenery may do him good? The only question is what would be a fair trade in return? 🤔

Farewell Luke Jackson
Would love the Demons to snaffle Victorian Campbell Chesser! Unfortunately he has signed until 2025 with the Eagles. So I can't see that happening unless the Eagles are serious about giving the Demons are better deal than the Dockers for Luke Jackson. The only other player on the Eagles list who is a Victorian and would be worth looking at might be Bailey Williams?

Farewell Jayden Hunt
Glad he played over 100 games for the Demons. Wish Jayden Hunt all the best at the Eagles.

Jackson Callow
I still think Jackson Callow is worth a 2nd chance. I understand he is injured but we could always add him to our rookie list? Would definitely be a handy replacement for Mitch Brown and we could see how he develops as a forward playing for the Casey Demons in the VFL. Here is another highlights video when he was playing for North Launceston in his local Tasmanian football league back in 2019:

Aaron Cadman
Aaron Cadman would be a fantastic draft pick for the Demons. We desperately need another young gun tall forward to team up with Jacob van Rooyen. Aaron Cadman's highlights video is quite impressive too. He will go top 5 in the draft though. I personally think Matthew Jefferson is the next best option if the Demons miss out on Aaron Cadman.

Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
Would rather take Jackson Callow as a delisted free agent.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
If the Demons miss out on drafting Aaron Cadman who is a top 5 draft pick, it is only logical that we look at the next best tall forward draft option. This would be Matthew Jefferson from the Oakleigh Chargers. Here is further information about him on the AFL website: https://www.afl.com.au/draft/prospects/matthew-jefferson Matthew Jefferson also made the 2022 Under 18s All Australian side. Furthermore here is a YouTube video about Matthew Jefferson oddly enough done by an Englishman: Personally, I think we should seriously consider drafting Matthew Jefferson. Especially if we miss out on Aaron Cadman. Teaming up Matthew Jefferson (or Aaron Cadman) with Jacob van Rooyen would definitely bode well for the future of the Demons forward line. Particularly when both Tom McDonald and Ben Brown retire in the next few seasons.

Farewell Luke Jackson
I am actually surprised West Coast haven't offered pick 2# (which will become pick 3#) in the 2022 AFL Draft for Luke Jackson. Especially as they are desperate for talent and Luke Jackson could team up with Nik-Nat. My only theory is West Coast wanna split pick 2# and with 2 first round picks or 1 first round pick and a player (a Victorian on their list) make an offer to Melbourne along those lines instead? Otherwise, they simply aren't serious about beating Fremantle to get Luke Jackson's services. I am happy to cheekily ask Fremantle for a first round pick and Hayden Young in exchange for Luke Jackson though! In the end Fremantle will need to exchange quality to obtain quality. It's as simple as that.

James Harmes off to Essendon?
I will be upfront, I love James "Chompers" Harmes. Definitely one of my favourite Melbourne players. He is a heart and soul type player who loves the Demons. He also achieved the ultimate...barracked for the Demons, plays for the Demons and won a Premiership for the Demons. You can't get much better than that! I am sure people will laugh, but I would expect a late first round pick from Essendon if we traded him. That's how highly I rate him. Nevertheless, besides "that" kick to Fritsch in the 2021 Grand Final James Harmes' kicking can be a bit hit and miss at times. I would personally prefer to trade Tom Sparrow over James Harmes. But IF we are to trade James Harmes it needs to be for a player who will make the team BETTER to win more Premierships. Mark my words though, I would be extremely cautious dealing with Essendon. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them!

Farewell Jayden Hunt
I've always rated Jayden Hunt when he plays forward. There's been a few games where he's kicked 3 or so goals playing either half-forward flank or forward pocket. I remember against Essendon twice he kicked a few goals. He also kicked that massive torpedo goal against Adelaide that time in Darwin. While his pace is a weapon, I tend to agree with others that he often fumbles and turns the ball over too much in the back line. At AFL level you definitely cannot risk too many turnovers in defence and Jayden Hunt is sadly a culprit of this. If we lose him to West Coast then so be it. I would rather play Jake Bowey in defence as at least you can trust his elite kicking. Anyway, that's just my 2 cents on Jayden Hunt.

Training Ground?
Exactly! It isn't about "stamping feet" and having a tantrum. We are adults here. I don't expect our home ground to be built in 12 months. I am realistic that things take time. Dealing with the Government is never an easy or swift process. All we want is to see some progress!

2022 Keith "Bluey" Truscott Trophy
Just wanted to ask people's opinions on who will win this year's Keith "Bluey" Truscott Trophy for 2022? There's an article about it found here: https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/1229898 Personally, I think it will be either Clayton Oliver or Christian Petracca with Steven May as a dark horse to win it. I definitely think it will be pretty close this year! My top 5 for the Demons Best & Fairest would be: 1) Clayton Oliver 2) Christian Petracca 3) Steven May 4) Max Gawn 5) Jack Viney Anyway, please let me know who you think will be your top 5 in the Melbourne Demons Best & Fairest for 2022 ok?

Training Ground?
All I will say is that I expect many Melbourne members to ask the hard questions to the MFC board about our home base being built in the MCG precinct and what the timeline will be. I am sure a number of us will do this at the upcoming MFC members forum (if it is happening?) as well as the MFC AGM. We must demand results and hold those MFC board members on the home base committee accountable. All we want is honesty and transparency about what is happening.

Goody’s Reflections on 2022
Lots of learnings for the Melbourne Demons. Hopefully, Simon Goodwin has a good break too and recharges his batteries. I want him and the rest of the coaching staff and players fully focused on having a successful season in 2023. GO DEMONS! 🔴🔵👹

What's next for Adem Yze?
Ideally I would like to keep Adem Yze at Melbourne. But he will get a senior AFL coaching job at another club eventually and we need to accept that. As long as we get good quality assistant coaches to replace Adem Yze then I won't be too worried.
