Sydney Stack
If we possibly rookie Sydney Stack it would be as a small forward in my view.

Phantom Drafts Thread 2022
Here's a phantom draft (the first 20 picks) on Zero Hangar 2022 AFL mock Draft: Picks 1-20 (first edition) They predict us taking Mattaes Phillipou as well.

Phantom Drafts Thread 2022
I'm sticking with the 3 options of either Matthew Jefferson, Henry Hustwaite or Mattaes Phillipou as my predictions for pick 13# in the 2022 AFL National Draft for the Demons. We desperately need more tall players after losing Mitch Brown and Majak Daw.

Sydney Stack
Sydney Stack certainly has a lot of talent. As can be seen from this highlights video: I would be open to putting him on the rookie list perhaps? 🤔

Delisting/Out of Contract Targets
Credit where credit is due, this highlights video of Sydney Stack is quite impressive. You cannot deny that he has a lot of talent and can play both in defence and in the forward line.

Delisting/Out of Contract Targets
Sydney Stack certainly has talent. But I know he has had previous behavioural issues. I can't forget that HUGE bump he laid on Jack Viney a few years ago though! Personally, I think West Coast will pick him up as a replacement for Willie Rioli Junior. But that's just my opinion. Riley Collier-Dawkins is the interesting one. Especially as he was taken in the first round of the 2018 AFL National Draft. Is he still worth giving a 2nd chance to? Here is a bit of a "video game theme" highlights video from Riley's draft year: He might be worth giving a rookie draft pick selection for? However, I guess that's up to Jason Taylor and the MFC recruitment team to decide?

Welcome to Demonland Pick 13
Apparently Henry Hustwaite from the Dandenong Stingrays is highly regarded? Could he be a Marcus Bontempelli "type" player? At least this English fella thinks so? 🤔 Here is the video link about him:

Jumper numbers for season 2023?
****FURTHER UPDATE**** #33 - Oskar Baker has been delisted. Sadly, I predicted this to happen. "Sauce" definitely had pace, I remember when he kicked 3 goals against GWS in 2020, but I felt his kicking just wasn't up to AFL standard. I wish him all the best for the future. From now on we MUST prioritise drafting players who are elite kicks to the Melbourne Demons! I am sure Mark "Choco" Williams constantly talks to the players on our list about improving their kicking skills. Good kicking is good football! _________________________________ Anyway, the updated list of jumper numbers available is as follows. #2 #6 #12 #19 #26 #28 #29 #33 #38 #39 #43 #46 #47 #48 #49 Obviously, not all these jumper numbers will be filled as it depends upon available list spots. From my understanding there will be about 6 or maybe 7 list spots available? I am sure somebody knows the exact number here? Lastly, I highly doubt any player would request a jumper number beyond Ben Brown's number #50, but you never know!

Welcome to Demonland Pick 37
Cheers for your post! Plenty of food for thought there. 🤔 Apparently Anthony Munkara is about 190cms now? I certainly like the idea of snaffling him from Essendon as he is their NGA prospect. Particularly after losing Mac Andrew to the Gold Coast last year. 😒 Either way, I have faith in MFC National Recruiting Manager Jason Taylor being able to choose some good young players for us in the 2022 AFL National Draft.

Jumper numbers for season 2023?
****UPDATE**** #26 - Sam Weideman has now been traded to Essendon. ----------------------- I really like some of the suggestions for jumper number changes. I also understand the argument of making a number "your own" too. Ben Brown has certainly made number #50 his own and I like that. Each to their own I guess? 🤷🏼♂️ I am not against the idea of giving Joel Smith his Father's (Shaun Smith) number #29 jumper if he wants it? I feel number #44 hasn't brought Joel much luck, due to injuries, and a change of number might do him good? But only if he wishes to do so and it doesn't put too much pressure on him? I do think jumper number #2 should be reserved for an extra special player though. It has a lot of history attached to that sacred number with Robbie Flower, Stephen Tingay and Nathan Jones having worn it. Nevertheless, it's always fun to speculate and see who gets their suggestions correct. 😉

Trade and Free Agency rumours
Thank you for this excellent analysis! 🙂👍 This really helps to paint an overall "big picture" of the Melbourne Demons' AFL list and where we sit regarding list management and draft picks. I am going to take back my grumbling about MFC List Manager Tim Lamb (I listened to his interview with SEN Radio) regarding the Luke Jackson trade. In the end, we got the best deal that we could of due to the circumstances. Overall, we should be in a strong position for this year's draft as well as next year's draft too. Fingers crossed we can obtain some good young recruits with draft picks 13# and 37#. 🤞 My only question is......will draft pick 37# end up being a pick in the late 20's or early 30's due to Brisbane banking up on draft picks so that they have enough points to obtain Father-Son pick Will Ashcroft with the number 1# pick in this year's AFL National Draft? 🤔

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Brodie Grundy looks much better in a Melbourne Demons jumper! 😍 If I do say so myself!

2022 Player Reviews: #33 Oskar Baker
Oskar Baker has pace but he needs to improve his kicking. Sadly, I think he will be delisted. But I hope he proves me wrong.

Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
Josh Schache certainly has talent still. I think his issues are more psychological. How you change your mindset and become a more aggressive player like a "Wayne Carey type" is a whole other issue. His performances for Victoria Country Under 18s many years ago were impressive though. Perhaps Mark "Choco" Williams will be able to get the best out of Josh Schache?

Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
Hmmmm....I dunno. 🤔 I still would rather take a chance on a 20 year old Jackson Callow. But I guess we will wait and see if the Demons think it is worth giving Josh Schache a last shot at an AFL career? 🤷🏼♂️

Farewell Luke Jackson
Oh well...Luke Jackson is a Docker now. But he will always be remembered as a Demons player who helped the Melbourne Football Club end it's 57 year Premiership drought.

Anthony Munkara
Anthony Munkara definitely has X factor. A prodigious Aboriginal talent. There's no way he lasts beyond the top 40 in this year's AFL National Draft. Here is another highlights video:

Farewell Sam Weideman
I'd be happy with pick 37# in this year's draft for Sam Weideman. But it will probably be a future 3rd round from Essendon or Sydney. However, I wouldn't trust Adrian Dodoro as far as you could throw him....😒
-
Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
Would prefer we take a chance on Jackson Callow. But if Clayton Oliver can teach his old mate Josh Schache a bit of "mongrel" then I am not against this option as a potential replacement for Sam Weideman. Anyway, let's see if Sam Weideman ends up at the Bombers first.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Glad Tim Lamb held his nerve. This trade for a star Collingwood ruckman reminds me of when Melbourne obtained Brownlow Medallist Peter Moore. Perhaps some of the respected elder Melbourne supporters here can remember those circumstances of how we managed to get Peter Moore in the early 1980's? I was far too young to remember those days. Let's hope Brodie Grundy can emulate a similar impact at the Demons but ideally play over 100 games for us. Fingers crossed he can win a Premiership at Melbourne too! 🤞 Bring on season 2023! GO DEMONS!!! 🔴🔵👹
