I presume that the club has already got a pretty good idea of who they rate in the top three positions. The will know for sure by draft day and will also know who St Kilda is going to take. I would be amazed if the player St Kilda is going to take is not in our top three. Thus, we will get two of the three best players in the draft, by our own reckoning. At the moment, I would go - Petracca Brayshaw McCartin

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
John Dee replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
You are faced with a show cause notice and you have a court case where you are trying to have it declared illegal. That is about as consequential as anything. -
No, it is 'porrick'. I am of Irish forbears, and I have a son named Seamus!
-
I'd pick him just for the name - just remember that it's pronounced 'porrick'.

I shall now think of you as Dan Quayle reincarnate, and that cannot be a good thing.

I disagree with 2009. Drafting Scully was a master stroke! With him defecting to GWS and the ridiculous compensation that the AFL had in place enabled us to get rid of a player who has been a complete bust and get Hogan and Barry, a big win. Trengove will be quite ok. I can only agree with you on Gysberts. Having said that, there must have been something there. Not many players get two Rising Star nominations and then do not kick on. Also, we essentially swapped him for Pederson which I would have previously said was a wash but now I think we came out way in front.

Whether we deserve it or not, Frawley will be Band1 as was Franklin. Hawthorn's first round pick was 18, so Band1 got them pick 19. Band1 will get us pick 3; it is just the system.

The priority pick was the worst thing the AFL ever introduced. They have never admitted their incompetence and will, probably, reject our appeal. Having said that, we must still appeal, as we did last year, to get it on record.

You need a 'Not Applicable' on the third question for the people who picked keep; yes, I was one of them.

I voted "I don't Care". As long as we are trying to win, it doesn't matter where we finish. The lower we finish, the better draft pick we get but so what. History shows that picks 2, 3, 4 or 5 are just about as good as 1. It's great that all clubs are still having a go. The AFL will beat their chests and claim that the warnings against tanking have been heeded; they will never acknowledge that tanking was a direct result of the Priority Pick ...

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
John Dee replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
My first post in this thread, I think. ASADA did not issue an interim report. The media at large and people here should realise that. The report they issued was at the end of the joint inquiry by the AFL and ASADA and related only to the matters governable by the AFL. The empty statements by Essendon and the like claiming vindication that no drug allegations were present in the report were just fluff as there was never going to be any. The AFL used the report to punish Essendon for it's appalling governance as this was something that ASADA could not do. ASADA then carried on with the inquiry into illegal drug use on it's own. -

I watched the Casey game. Luckily I was under cover before the rain started, and boy, did it rain! Kent was very good and will, in all probability, come in. Blease was better but I will be surprised if he comes in. Jordie only played the first half and was OK during that time.

Cooney high hit on Ablett - Who has the Duty of Care?
John Dee replied to deanox's topic in Melbourne Demons
This was all Ablett's fault. He looked and saw Cooney coming and put his head down to draw the contact. -
