I was pleasantly surprised, I expect that he will get a few NAB games, and we will see how he goes from there. Viney, vandenBerg and Tyson were a cut above. Tyson's disposal is a bit of a worry though. Salem just oozes class. Harmes and Kent swapped teams in the second half. I would not be surprised to find it was because the coaching staff wanted Hogan to do something other than kicking it to Harmes evey time he got it. Gawn was very good. Spencer was ok up to the time he went off. Dunny will be very glad that he doesn't have to play on Hogan too often. I didn't know who #35 was; I have since found out it was Kennedy - good hit out. It was all a bit scrappy, but early days.

My son, daughter-in-law and grandson live in Basel, which is in the German speaking part of Switzerland. What language will be used is very much dependent on where the case is to be held. It won't trouble the Swiss at all whether it is in French, German, Italian or English, and they are quite willing to chose the most inconvenient one available.

I think that this is an 8-10 year. Much of this depends on us keeping our best team on the ground and the general improvement of our younger brigade. What I like about this situation is that we have traded for pick 3 and obviously know who we want at that pick. The only way that we don't get who we specifically want is to be gifted Weitering or Schache. Having said that, I hope that it is Parish that we have earmarked.

The Rising star voting will be most interesting. I don't really care if Jesse wins it but I don't trust the people who will vote; Lewis Taylor, really? If Cripps and Hogan were lined up and you could only pick one for your football club, it is a no brainer. Everybody, even Carlton supporters, would pick the key forward. They would hate missing out on a gun midfielder but key forwards like Hogan don't come along very often.

As someone who has a degree in nuclear physics, I might point out the e=mc^2 is Einstein's energy equation, not his theory of relativity. His theory of general relativity has only one basic tenet, time is not constant. Indeed Essendrug seem to be stuck in some sort of time warp whereby they will ever be under investigation and never recognise any decision that goes against them.
