I think this is my first post on a JW thread. I don't know why I am doing it ... I was watching Casey on Sunday getting flogged and watching Nicho try his guts out - hard running, desperation, second and third efforts without the skill to capitalise on them. I couldn't help but to think of the difference between him and JW, one a sublime talent and the other a sublime trier. Of the two of them, who would you draft; Watts in a heartbeat, all clubs would. I remember hearing a quote from Paul Sheehan a few years back when he said that being so good as a junior did not prepare him to be a Test cricketer; he never knew how to graft runs as he'd never needed to. The parallels with JW are very similar, he was blessed with incredible talent that allowed him to cruise though junior football without having to exert himself.

Strauss was down back but there was a dearth of forward line activity and he was pushed forward. He took a mark about 35m out dead in front and then proceeded to nearly kick it out on the full.

Petterd's problem was a cyst that allowed air into the chest cavity and not back into the lung. This is markedly different to Harmes' issue which would be as a result of a collision.

Calling a spade a shovell is only proper if indeed it is a shovell A shovell is different from a spade in that if its plate is held level it will hold water, if it does not, it is a spade. Thus one should only declare a supposed spade to be a shovell only if indeed it is a shovell.

The AFL has stuffed up the Western Sydney experiment
John Dee replied to Yeats8's topic in Melbourne Demons
The elephant in the room when considering a team in Tasmania is the north-south divide. Until you have been down there and experienced it, you really can't describe it! -

I agree that moving into Sydney's west was a no-brainer. There are ample people there to create a substantial AFL presence; it will just take time. Tasmania will always be marginalized because of its small population and the lack of people to convert to AFL, Although I would give them a team tomorrow, they may be waiting a long time. To reach the next step, GWS will need to grow up as a club and get themselves out of the need to spend large parts of their salary cap on a few individuals. The absurd money that they were prepared to pay to Buddy and the money they do pay Scully is cancerous and must stop. -
Interesting. With very little to go on other than gut feel - Improvers - Toumpas, over the effects of his hip surgeries and with a season and a full pre-season under his belt. Viney; already good, will just get better. Howe, down last year but will rebound. MacDonald, already good, will become elite Sliders - McKenzie. It gives me no pleasure to say this. Bail; disposal is a serious issue. Byrnes; not up to it. M Jones, dunno why.

Mythbusters showed that this old saying is indeed a myth; they did polish a turd!

WELCOME BACK TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - NEVILLE JETTA

Patella tendonitis is a bastard; I had it several years ago. You have to go until it hurts, then stop. Repeat each day until it doesn't hurt any more. You can strap the knee to take the pressure off the tendon, but, sooner or later, you have to do without that too. The thing that really bums you out is the time it takes to revert back to normal, and the fact that when it starts throbbing, you can't do anything about it..

The problem here is that ambiguity in the question. I voted for Scharenberg as the one I would pick if they were all available at pick 9. I would have voted for Freeman as the one I expect we will pick at 9.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AIDAN RILEY

We are only bound to two draft picks; Clisby's upgrade counts as one of the three mandatory selections.
