Advice for Getting Signatures Pre-Game
It’s their home game, your reserved seat doesnt exist on the night. Buy your ticket either way, but with this mob being up and about, i expect a big crowd….

What They Are Saying at Punt Road
GAWD! I just scrolled through about 10 pages of the toiges on big footy. Apparently the umpires are cheats and are responsible for the loss. THey are also responsible for the ;stand’ rule that means the tigers can;t win (what, they cannot understand the idea of ‘standing?) Hilarious. I had a bit of a sick up into my mouth and needed mouthwash and a good hand sanitiser after that. Suck it, toiges! Too old, too slow, not good enough!

PODCAST: Rd 20 vs Richmond
Just want to say how awesome that was! It was a shootout and the toigs brought everything they had. We took momentum back, absorbed the pressure and turned it around. The last quarter it barely left our front half. Big shout out to max and jack, leaders extraordinaire. Great coaching by goody, including the tactical sub use. how do you rank that win? (I think it matches the Geelong win in 21)

POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Adelaide
BBB will always be a demon premiership hero. With his knees, it does not appear possible for him to jump. This means he is limited to standing or running at incoming balls. Standing still means he will get crashed into and others will easily jump over the top of him, therefore his only way to play is to mark on the run, in a straight line to boot. If we could deliver in a way that allows him to get a break on his opponent and have enough clear air to mark, he would offer some value. However, a lack of lateral or vertical movement will see him limited. I have no problem with his effort, but he will be easy to defend against given the limited ways he can play now. I would think he no longer needs the best defender, but rather third best - just keep a body on him and stop him running. Is schache good enough ?? MJ is not near it yet. Petty? JVR needs a foil. If the Gawndy experiment doesnt work, we will have to rely on BBB to put his best efforts, and whatever that brings. j SMith has yet to be valuable fo r more than a half of football, so makes a good sub.

Harley Reid
It’s an interesting conundrum: trade it all for Reid, or work to get 2 high picks? I will leave my trust in the FD, knowing we will want to trade out our mid level picks to push the f/s pick for Brown into the weeds. We either get Reid plus pup, or 4/6 plus pup. Looks all good, and will depend upon list management. We have to take at least 3, so who leaves, what comes in relating to personnel, picks, etc will tell the tale. Think they will take a broader view of which the selection of Reid or 4/6 will be one part. Thanks jacko and freo, turning pick 3 into pick 1 plus change!

PODCAST: Rd 19 vs Adelaide
Gentlemen, it was a good effort to hold off the crows as they played for their season. I’m not sure what to make of where we are at right now except: our best can beat the rest there is so much noise out there re the pies/port etc, little positive press relates to the Dees. Last week’s hysteria re Grundy as an example. If we get Oliver and Fritter back, what is your guess at a best 23 for round 1 of the finals from here?

Farewell James Jordon
Free agency = compo. May add to points we can put together to push picks up the list to target his replacement?

Farewell Brodie Grundy
If he wasn’t ex filth there would be less interest. These one hit pieces are ckickbait for the filth fans who want to believe that getting rid of him was a good move. So woe is the MFC, and they are treating the old beloved son poorly. not once have I heard a gripe from Grundy on any of this. Not once have I heard any negativity from the club. Brody is a very intelligent dude. I’m sure he has had the conversation with club and knows exactly where he is at.

PODCAST: Rd 17 vs St. Kilda
We played a strong defensive unit and managed to win. interested in your thoughts on the style change this week- it looked like we started with manic running and handball. Saints broke this down and we began to shift tempo using more kicks and control. Is this part of us practicing for finals? max and reg (Grundy)? Are we getting enough out of this? i think Schache comes in this week. cheers, gents. Look forward to the poddy as usual.

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs St Kilda
My view from at the ground - i might need to watch the replay to see what the couch peloton saw - was a tough game against a defensive focused team. The saints always were positioning themselves defensively of the contest to outnumber any ball movement opportunities. Marshall smashed our rucks = i have to ask, what’s up with Max? Hardly holds a mark and is rarely threatening. He marks and we look so much better. Really worry that the whole ‘tap bros’ is not paying dividends yet. May was outstanding. The backline held up well. The saints started with incredible pressure and it took us 1/2 the first quarter to adjust to this. It looked like we were really trying to take the game on rather than control the tempo, and many times it just did not come off. More experiments perhaps? Nibbler v good early. Kosi - not a shadow on his normal self Trac - mainly forward tonight, which meant it was Viney and the kids vs the Saints midfield. JJ did really well, and I think Woey Jnr did enough to hold his spot. Shame about the goal miss… BBB - very busy and added value to the team. Melk did OK, might make way for JVR?? We took the 4 points in a tough encounter. I will watch the TV replay and see what I missed. A good result after the tou8gh slog of the last 4 weeks. go Dees!
