  1. Would we swap a couple of second rounders for Ports future 1st? They get currency to bring in their 3 targets, we cash in some of this year for next.
  2. I hope we are up to something on a number of fronts: coaching replacements and switches - forward and midfield coaches, new ball movement plans. Some better ball users and elite talent (both new via draft and trading in). Ruck replacement for Grundy, if he goes as planned. KP players for FB, CHB, CHF. No rumours here, but if what the jungle drums are signalling (by no signal), I hope we are going to make a big splash this trade/draft period.

The earth is flat. the surface of the earth is 70% water. None of it is carbonated. Therefore the earth is flat. I’ll see myself out…
  4. I am really annoyed that we dont have a game day thread. Our own fault, but not happy!
  5. He was always #23 for us….

If you were doing the exit interviews, what would be a key message that you would want delivered to a particular player? Where would you want them to focus in the off season to improve? Verall: More Fitness and marking, getting to contests to be improved Jefferson: More muscle mass and hit more contests. Howes: More fitness and strength to challenge for a wing spot in 24 (etc) Then there are ones like “enjoy your retirement” to BBB, TMAc, Hibbo, Melk, etc, and ‘enjoy the Harbour views, Grundy” What messages would you give?
  7. Ok, i thought they both left for more opportunities. Missed the bit where Hunt wanted to stay. Suggest he would have had very little game time anyway…
  8. Reminder: Bedford wanted to leave, Hunt wanted to head to WC to get more opportunities. We all feel bad about the season, but lets not write history wrongly to suit a narrative point.
  9. For having the ‘best’ midfield in the comp, I thought we were terrible in the middle. CB setups were entirely defensive almost the whole night and our ability to win the contest there and move forward was terrible. With the players available there, why do you all think we take such an approach? Is this a coaching issue, a skill issue or something else??
  10. If not, death ride the pies!
  11. Schache: splinters in piles
  12. Dees fans need to make some noise! The umpires will give them a magic carpet ride if we don’t. I think we have this - by 22 points.
  13. Forget all the bluster. If he wants to come I’m sure both sides will know what it takes…it isn’t petty….
  14. What do we trade? Two pairs of Maxies used socks and a half sucked mintie? Third rounder at best i’d reckon.
  15. If we have to win it for Gus, then we are stuffed. Wrong emotional tone. If we get in front and apply pressure, I suspect Carlton will fold. The season will still be a success for them. For us, anything other than a win is a fail. Speed on the bal fron the start, high pressure going both ways. Then it is our to lose
  16. What is Perts email?

Was Maynard wanting to date Angus, appearing with wine, flowers and chocolates? I imagine that’s how the Dog ‘Bruzz’ gets most of his action, by knocking them out first. Stay strong Gus. You got this.
  18. As much as I love my Demons, and will continue my 25 year premium membership, this decision really tests me. Can i be a party to a gladiatorial event where young men are severely injured with no repercussion? My TV eyeballs and my gate fees (let alone my beer money ) should not be voting for or condoning this behaviour. Gleeson’s direction of the jury was inappropriate and should be the basis of an appeal. I hope Maynard never gets a premiership medallion, if its not us, then go Lions!
  19. If it was an on field report, it should be the umpire giving his views on what happened. i also haven’t seen the words ‘football action’ related to any classification. It was either reckless or intentional (take your pick), high contact, severe impact. That should be 3-4 to 6-8 weeks. then, consider his words before the game about how he intended to play. this prize low life should get rubbed out for a while. Right, Bruz?

Anyone have any news on the scratch match where hopefuls were getting a run, against the Blues?
  21. AMW to the forward line, Kosi to the guts to replace Angus grundy in for JVR- max forward, grundy i the ruck 70/30 TMac holds his spot.(just) chandler under pressure from Spargo. turner a possible in for hibbo depending how he pulls up. Laurie not sub, maybe giver Woey a crack. 3 first choice key forwards not available. Dry conditions forecast. With our crowded forward 50, maybe we need something different, instead of ‘kick it to Darcy Moore’ strategy from Pies game
  22. Our game style makes it a hard days night for any forward, with the get it in and lock it down attitude, there are often 34 players in the arc. Maybe grundy is not the answer, but he may have to do if the cupboard really is bare.
  23. Keep it simple: contact was high, impact severe. 4 weeks. GFY Maynard.
  24. Whew. Nearly got there. The stats would say we should have won it, but the scoreboard disagrees. First q was putrid. We kicked ourselves out of it, those long bombs to outnumbered forwards didn’t work, so why not try something different? Really dislike Mason Cox. thought the maggots were very ordinary. gotta get there the long way…. Cmon demons!
  25. I see this going the same way as the swans game. They will come hard and it will be a tight tousle. Half way through the third we put the hammer down, get the game on our terms and set up a comfortable win. i expect the pies to react badly - faux tough guys with Maynard and Cox - ucker trying to rough up our boys. Umps to be against us as they play to the narrative. Dees by 27points
