Whilst the idea put forward in the OP is quite interesting the reality is as far as the Col Sylvia experimentgoes it is well and truly over never really having made it much further than the ideas lab !! Ill put this here as moreoften than not the loonie element avoids it. lol A new era has not quite been born yet but the idea of it was put into action with the rehabilitation of the football dept and associated areas. Whether all of those appointments prove fruitful the jury is still asleep awaiting a report on any life in the team. We must now as a club look to remould the backroom. Schwabby is gone. I feel too it is now right and proper that the President look to his own replacement. If he is as has been purported a President not really of his own ambition then we need one who is. The Backroom needs a sweepout I feel. Too many languishing ghosts and skeletons. If we are to be a relevant and successful outfit lets build it., or rather lets finish constructing it. edit : corrected as per Old's highlighting my syntax error..cheers

I have no problem with the idea of a new President, not though because I have a particular problem with Don. I think we should all consider we owe him and his like a big thankyou for taking the reigns at a time when Im sure that was last on his mind. But he was/is a reluctant President , he's there by default. In order for the club to grow ( up ) and move forward we need people who are inspired and inspirational in positions of importance. A lot of things have happened at the club in a reactionary and almost panicked fashion. We need more purpose and calm intent. Go Dees

I wonder how many who are taking unfettered glee in his sacking/resignation have actually met him. ? I tire of the wolf pack mentality that permeates through from time to time . A lot of where we are in terms of financial stability ( sans things like tank fines etc ) are directly acreditable to Cam and his minions. I found him personable and very approachable. The issue of him being a decent CEO and was it time for him to go are possibly two different things. Many will see them as invariable shackled together. I suppose thats an opinion. There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy. Swap philosophy for opinions and inuendo and we have the general publics perception /idea of what really transpires behind the doors of clubs and leagues. Cam has been offered up to the alter of sacrifice and I doubt he will be alone. Much has to change about this club if for no other reason than if it were to continue in this same vein then we would eventually disappear down the gurgler. Sometimes to affect change you do indeed need to change literally for its own sake. Im sure we dont know half of whats been going on but I feel sure Cam cant have been responsible for much of whasts lamentable about this club. I can only hope that those who are also pass through the door in quick procession.

My 5c re GL If he doesn't want to or indeed feel he had the capacitu. So be it. It is not incumbent upon hint or any individual to fix the club. The club needs to fix the club utilising the democracy of interested folks to enable this. We continually seem to wait for some demi god to arrive whether be player or club leader to take us out of the wilderness . Doesn't work that way. ALL the best companies and clubs thrive when they instigated best practice SYSTEMS . Ours is obviously stuffed. Lets fix it.All else will follow imho.

Nupp just abject pity from friends and family. The wife was very understanding i relented and had a couple of soothing sherberts sat nightthus ending my no drink regime leading up to the trek. Shes a Maggie. She humours me. Others feel the pain. Strangely no one laughs. Its moved waypast that. Lucky Theres so much more to life than footy.
