Its an good article and balanced ( rare ) in perspective.. presents an interesting , if sad , analogy. Hopefully we're not as screwed as that other lot as they are just about to all but disappear off the political map. As Niall summises in his calm but scathing analysis of what has passed for recent history of this club, we've got a lot of things wrong, time after time after time. Thats probably the most scandalous issue, that we continually get things wrong. Hopefuly PJ has stopped this. That we have continually got things awry suggests that the problems that cause this are well and truly part of the fabric of this club. So who's been weaving this cloth ? If we dont change the weave and by association the weavers then in the end not much will change.. Much thats bleedingly obviously wrong about our club stares outsiders in teh face. Red..et al.. I dont particularly care for any grandstanding whether it be JK or anyone but there is an indisputable fact currently. The board are in essence a caretaker board. Everyone is on notice in this club save the CEO. As in politics its beholding upon the current board to make NO far reaching decisions. They can not make decisions that go beyond their own current term, not now, not in our current predicament. Once the dust has settled , once a new (or revised ) board is empowered, once they have a mandate from US,....then such decisions can be made. Id be mad as hell if anyone lumps us with anything just because its they could or thought it best...atm. PJ has called it....all bets are off, off til he says so. I probably dont like the way JK has reminded all of this but there is an element of reality about it. Like it or not

We need the best demon ? Rubbish...We need the best person. Neeld wasnt a Demon before 2011. Daniher wasnt a Demon before he was. Whilst its fair and reasonable to suggest most members in a position to be influential and board members ( or more ) there are some who come to the club late. Jackson wasnt a Demon a couple of months ago. There is no logic or sense in limiting the search for leaders to "just demons" thats what weve done..and this is where we are.

Id go as far as to say we just want a quality ticket ( whomever) with some reasonable ( not far fetched ) idea (s) of how the F we get out of the hades we're in. Im not really sure how how the incumbents can continue but Id happily look and listen.I'll do that to them all. There ought to be a basic questionaire of say a dozen concerns that any and all wannabes ought to be able to answer. I also think any and all sides ought to be able to address the membership via the clubs email. we need information to enable informed decisions ( by us )

in case you missed the tenet of the post...It was to suggest the original whack might want to be fleshed out...at elast some...at least in nature.. for the exact reason you allude to...annonymity together with grievance is not always the recipe for anything that ought to taken too seriously. He might be correct , he might not, he , like us all as you quite rightly mention have a bias, of one sort or another.

then so be it. I am absolutely fed up with so called footballers who simnply cant do the basic ask of same said footballers...i.e kick it properly.. It just amazes me..Fair enough in suburbam footy, maybe in the VFL its acceptable to some degree to murder a ball but at the elite end of things its got to be a foundation skill. That and handballing 10-15 to a running playerr, to advantage and not so they have to deviate and compromise the flow of play. Do I ask too much ?

Jackson came into Essendon at a time it was strrugling ( believe it or not ) and gt it back on its feet. Part of the problem the Bombers had at that time ( despite appearances ) was it seemed unable to make some unplatable decisions and was becoming efectively hamstrung. Jackson effectively put into action remedies to fix this.

yes talk is cheap...but putting yourslef into the mire isnt. PJ is to be commended, as is anyone who takes upon the challenge that is the MFC. Theres more conjecture than anythign currently...so going back to words, or conversely action, I await expectantly for what transpires. What "happens" is far more real that what is said. The real interest of this club is mainly off field. .

Id be pepared to entertain this. The proviso: 1) i want to see who else is prepared to put hand up, who their team is. What they intend to do and how they would make thst happen . 2) same for Jeff. Who how etc. Id give him a hearing. Ive met and talked with him a number of times over the last 0-25 years. Without question his ego fills a room. Without question hesitation not always right. Without question he has the ability to make things happen and bring accountability to the fore. You know exactly where you stand with Jeff lol He , even by his own admissions , made mistakes; often of fervour and sometimes lost sight of the gosl line and went too far. He has mellowed a little (seiously lol ) He would actually be one of the very few who could marry ability vision , clarity of understanding of who and what Melbourne is together with an ego sizable to succeed. Id give it serious consideration. Only a fool would dismiss out of hand.
