Im not concerned as yet. I await a real game with most of our preferred list in their best positions. From this i will gauge improvements ...if any. I expect some. Ive also become used to disappointments.

Which bit have you missed ?? Im simply noting the amount of emphasis many have made of his potential. I dont hink he has. If he had we might have seen it by now. All we have seen is momentary glimpses. He is without doubt talented, but he hasnt the mongrel of attitude to actually use it. Servicable....questionable. Hes like a crappy hot water service.... hot and cold edit...potential is dif from talent.

many here didnt really expect Morton to really be that much chop...he wasnt. Sylvia has been lauded as the great whote hope for years and years now. Look up potential in the Websters and theres a picture of Colin !! He teases with his undoubted talent, often towards a contract signing then falls away. Many a scribe agree he is a prodigious talent , but one thats never really stepped up to where he ought to be. I am now firmly in the camp that thinks he never will. If he wants to walk at seasons end by all means. iN fact tel lus now and we can play someone else whos actually more interested.Be doing all a big favour and would actually be his single greatest contribution to the club. Hes a show pony thats never developed into the real player he ought to have. FFS hes been at the club an eternity and some still talk of him as "potential" etc etc wake up folks

Im remaining ambiguous to tell the truth. Id like to think THIS IS THE YEAR do take a step up. To get serious about this game , to galvanise all the hard work and list rejuvenation. And yet I see very littel happening . A lot of huff andf puff and very little in terms of cohesion. I know it will happen ( in some fashion ) ...eventually. Ive seen far too many false dawns over the years. I dont need to prove anything to anyone. I barrack for Melbourne. Ive earnt the priveledge of this kind of ambivalence. I want success. I crave success. Ive forgotten what success is. Ill just sit, watch and see if it comes. thats all

YD..I sense what youre alluding to is will many on the 2013 be part of a possible resurgence and resultant premiership ? Quite possibly yes. But they will be part of a list yet to be finished. I.e the current list wont do it...a improved 2013 ( i.e 2014's ) list, Yes.

reread my post. As the list stands no...with the last of the slowcoaches and nqrs purged (at eos) we will have a list to go on with . Currently its not quite there.

asking the original question this time next year may be a whole different thing. We still have some legacy ( read aka lethagy ) issues with some on the list. They will be gone in 7months. Could we play finals..who knows, im hoping yes , but ackowledging its a big ask. A premiership with current list no. A premiership with 2014's list...well its either a resounding yes or Ill go follow tournament bridge or something.
