5 Years Says Neeld - Who is going to cop that?
beelzebub replied to Mongrel Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
pressers, especially of losers are worth 2/3 of 3/5 of sfa. That Neeld continues his seemingly detached ( possibly form his immediate reality ) efforts at explanation border on the farcial. Whether pre or post game his mileposts seem terribly off the ( relevant ) map. Dawes has , it would seem a better appreciation of the where and how of our situation. Dont confuse that with this supposed support some would have us beleive he was simply pointing out a clearer reality. Of course he offer mutterings of being behind his coach..he was after al lsitting next to him fcs. Its about as believable as a baord beiing fully behind someone . Believe what you will folks. This man ( MN) instills in myself no confidence whatsoever. And I so terribly wanted him to. At some point you simply have to wake up and smell the flowers -

Thats right UH CD and Clark are right on Neelds page have another look, another read. Both have shown dismay at their illustrious leaders stance. but hey...enjoy your position.. Melbournes doing just grand...hey -
I wonder ( seriously ) if Dawes is /was trying to compensate for what he may or may not have considered shortcomings in his team mates. That snot so much a slight as a relaistic appraisal od where some are. . hes simply tried to work with what is...not what should be. just a thought

we'll have none of that if you dont mind umpire.. Actually can you bring it in truckloads. Youve identified a number of culprits.. the board and the fd/coaches come 'tour guides' Problem is we have neither of an effective one. But its a start to identify this. -

When the more intelligent players start to realise they arent reading from the same page as the coach...something will need to give.. -

how can i put it any more clearly This guy is delusional, seriously f'd inb the head. The guys in white coats would be coming should Kew only still be operating why this position ? Its where he puts benchmarks and how he arrives at them. He thinks today was OK..deep down he does Im sure.. Mitch Clark now knows he has a looney as a boss, poor bastard !! I really thought we had a decent thinker at the helm, I now realise he is batty. Mark, listen and listen good . There is NOTHING good in a 34 point loss. it means we LOST. Guess why..you sewed these seeds before the game. Its ok guys I dont expect you to win , nor be really competitive, not for 5 years. Im sorry this is only the thinking of an idiot. Its all well and good to realise things take time but dont run that up the flagpole. -
mods...merge ??

I'll break my self imposed embargo This is just utter crup; !!! these are the words and outlook of someone out of his depth. With the right personnel both playing and support you can become competitive in 18 months to 2 years. It does however mean yo dont come out waving the white f'n flag every bloody week, befor ethe game's even played...ffs !!. It does mean you rely less on these bogus excuses of ...oh weve less games than the others.. This guy now reminds me of a bloody accountant. The ones that have no vision and cant advise you what to do , or if they do they dont do it themselves. This bloke is a weaselly numbers protaganist and hes ignoring the other elements of decision re football. its not about games Neeld, its about effort and skills and mindsets. You are teaching our lads they will lose form the get go because of any number of reason. Tell them they will most likley lose....and guess what ...they bloody will. This guy plans to lose and expects to lose. Do this and you do just that. others however take the outlook of plannng and playing to win. get rid of this bloke now

not tomoroow...b ut maybe July / August ?? What on earth does that really accommplish. btw Mark, youre a dead man walking ...not today, not tomorrow but hey check out those september travel bargains ...capische !! cant see much point to that perssonally

Rivers disposal i beg to differ was often very iffy. It could fall short resulting in team mate pressure or a turnover. Strangely set shots weren't too bad. his abililty to read a ball was extremely good and often chose the age ol belt to the boundary. My opinion I grant you.
-
actually i dont really buy this. I would have thought 'weak' and 'inexperienced" players would be the most mouldable, the most impressionable and easiest to change. Granted only an opinion. I would have thought the team with little real leadership and guidance might be the one most craving it.

Swampy I think Your post is commendable. This is exactly what my inital thinking and understanding was. Its been modified over recent times for one simple notion. You would expect to see a more discernable improvement in all aspects by now. Theres been 2 preseasons. And 30 odd games nab and real and in the main all I see is a chotic rabble with no real sense of purpose. Individual players are trying, some really trying, others are just 'trying" but a plan and rear guard actions are escaping my gaze. im just terribly worried that as another poster put it hes reached his level.( peter principle ) and what was working prior just isnt meshing at AFL level. Hes been surrounded by a very beefed up FD. Theres not much he could want for. He seems placated by miniscule and debatable improvements. Indeed the board seems totally seduced by the current state. Its somewhat interesting and timely that we played Carlton this past weekend. Here we have a team ( arguably better skilled and talented ) who have BOUGHT in on their new coachs demands and ways..Theyve done that in a very short period. Over here at Melbourne I dont see the same comprehension translating into game day. I see rabid confusion and inept decisions. There would appear a gulf of difference in the manifestation of coaches will/direction and team play between Carlton and Melbourne.. The bookies only have us as marginal favourites agains the Suns..wow. By most arguably relevant benchmarks under Neelds regime we have gone backwards. How in any way is this acceptable. My view is MN is attempting to get the team to play an unworkable gameplan. By unworkable i mean well and truly beyond the teams ability to grasp and implement.. its a bit like liviing beyond your means, its doomed to failure. You work within your means and expand your abilities thereby expanding the potential of your means.. Neeld hasnt teh cattle to play his game yet he perseveres. This is either arrogance or delusion. Either way it flies in the face of realities. In simpler terms you walk before you run.... we're just tripping over oursleves. I could believe in other circumstances Neeld would be off hunting whales in a kalnienk fervour.

if not tomorrow...then when ? And why would you consider that any different or better. There are many factors to consider I concede. If a change is required it validates someting is wrong ( very ) and needs changing , more than correcting the errors of the exisitng . If thats the case how long ( read damage) do you brace against the destruction ? Id love Melbourne to suddenly fire. Dont expect us to be terribly triumphant but to be truly competitive and showing signs of gelling would be all that Neeld needs to survive. I just cant see this happening in any meaningful timeframe. Id prefer to be wrong, for Neeld to haul us out of the mire. I just want success, dont care from whom. But RPFC you agree to change....so when is when ?

Not a lot to disagree with there Theo. Its pathetic really that we only had ONE bloke accumulate 20 + for the game.. Were talking 20...not 30 !! How we go about Sylvia will ( for mine ) tell us much as to how we are travelling. Big Boys clubs will callit a day on him, take what we can get by way of any compo and move on. Weak clubs will cave to keeping him out of irrational fear of "losing someone of his creed". Thereby admitting to one and all they just dont get it as its actually his creed we need rid of. There does indeed seem much in the way of mismanagement wrt Trenners. I can only feel hed be better on the LTI also until right to return FIT to the magoos then us. So whos making this call..?? Seems wrong. I do like Tom, in the main, but both at training and matches he just doesnt have anything like a natural kicking action. He therefore thinks too much and wil get dacked more often than not as he's worries about it. A bloke rightly ought to be an assett but often plays like a liability. how manyplayers can you really afford to take the field who cant kick the ball ??

youre good at making stuff up Franky. where have I ever said Ive never been to a docklands game ?? Put up or shut up What I have said is I dont like the place and wont return. Lets get facts straight shall we. I have never said I wouldnt suport Melbourne. I actually went as far as saying id still remain a member. I justcant be stuffed if they cant be. I did say I was going to choof off until something interesting happens and I probably will soon enough.. The flu's nearly beaten. Thankyou for you imput Franky....i truly value it

It will be interesting to see who gets a nod as a result of Grimes going on the LTI

I just strikes me that would Couch and Magner be of something that the club thought they were then by now they ought to have climbed off the rookie list. Magner came out all guns blazing and then ran out of ammo. Couch...just that bit under equiped to break through. Cant see either remaining. Sense another 10 plus clear out come years end. Spencer is a big boy...who gets knocked sideways very easily ...far too easily...have you seen him..lol Hes a bit unco as I see it. Get his timing wrong. Jamar still much better at understanding where to be. Jake will probably get most of the seasonb to improve. Lets see if he does.

and your point is.... There are some players emerging. Youd want to bloody hope some do wouldnt you. Yet given the number of fellas on our list all we have really is a handful youd pick week in week out and a handful emerging.. WOW. That leaves an awful lot of NQR's for mine.Well done MFC. yes I also said I ( probably like many a seasoned follower of footy ) can espy a player who has something as opposed to those that plod along taking money under false premises. I make no real claims at spotting kids in the making. That seems to have been your assertion and interpretation. You are the one who makes out you need to apply for a recruiting position .I have no interest in it. What I will resay here , is that the coaching dept isnt the recruitment dept. Neeld didnt recruit Toumpas or Viney or Hogan or Kent or Terlich etc. The FD's boys did. Its up to the coaching dept to extract whats there and hone it. Some players simply dont need any help or real guidance they simply KNOW how to play footy. Do you think coaches did anything really for Ablett(s) or Judd or Buddy or Chapman or Ling or Fletcher, Hird etc. They instinctively play football. We have been very poor in the past at getting this type of player...and yet with had abundant opportunities in picks to do so. Others need coaching a lot more. Some despite all efforts are just (for mine ) inept at this level. I find it interesting though that the likes of Kent, Jones and Terlich, all of recent drafts are showing more in a shorter time frame than many whove been on our list a lot longer. This bodes well. Again I say hopefully with steering from Taylor we will get better at picking footballers, not elite beepers !!

A blind man shooting in a barrel will hit something. Are you suggesting that alone qualifies the teams progress as successful ? For almost everyone one that seems to be coming along to some degree I could offer you one that is regressing. We chose an experimental gang as a fillip...yet not one played on the weekend . We have scouts.... we have recruiters. we have some seriously flawed judgements that creep in amongst all of this. Weve picked a lot of guys over the recent journey who lack the fundamentals to be AFL level impact players. Little things like kicking to a position, or kickiing to benefit. But hey some just kill it on the beep test. Some clubs are more aware of what makes a good FOOTBALLER not just an elite athlete. Im hoping Taylor brings some of this acumen.

im not sure any of them are actually DC

if you have nothing constructive to say...bugger off. In order to describe that which I did requires more than a few words...otherwise its not worth the effort. If you want to add to a discussion...by all means...if you want to post [censored].. go away.. Did I keep it to your attention span ?
