Many a point there overlooked my many unfortunately. Youd have to be a wiz to nail the trade period to your absolute advantage. There will be a bit of give and take. Its really how you end up overall as a result of the player-fest. We need a framework within which a team can develop and grow. Players like Vince and Cross help in this respect. Suddenly Jonesy , Dimitri, Michie and who ever else, get a bit of breathing room.

Unlike Watts James will be 26 next season. He'd be 27 in the season of the first year post this contract. He's hedging..can't blame him. If he works it right his next contract will probably be his last...take him out to the end. If I were him id wait til mid season or there abouts and sit down then. You'd know whether the Dees were picking up in a meaningful way and hence might look at september action or you put your hand up. Personally Im not really fazed.

Strangely I have some renewed faith in this club of ours to extract value in these deals now (earlier.... ) The club considered ( correctly ) that no one would be gushing too early with offers as no one in their right mind shows their hand too early. Neither have we. We can afford to sit and wait...others need to get on with things or lose out on their on-dealing. We're in what's called the box seat. Offers might be now forthcoming but the real bidding like any auction hasnt even begun. Would be very surprised if any deal went through before next monday now for #2
