  1. now if they had been really sneaky youd have set up a blind...a false trail etc.
  2. Old ..theres a generally agreed to gentlemans nod that assistants etc wont be prevented from moving to another club for a higher position as is the case here with Rocket. I can see both sides but as usual its the filth that get their pound of flesh.. I look forward to he and Bucks sharing a very ordinary year !!
  3. cough...COUGH..Nothing was "run" by anyone... serious note though....good to hear about this. The culture IS changing.
  4. yep...the exact point raised by some in the 'raise the draft age thread" Its so obvious its not really funny.
  5. there comes a time ......opined one Neil Young ....and for some on our list its soon to be here, it's that time when the club assesses the likelihood of player X , after being on list for Y years, as to whether there's a real upside in continuing as a Dee. Tappy must be 5 mins to midnight . Evans shouldn't have been that far behind as Red suggests Sometimes it's perseverance with the Devil you know and then there's that line you get to sometimes that says " enough" I often make reference to the notion we can be a Benevolent Co-op at Melbourne and I say that not in disrespect to any player but simply acknowledging our list in order to improve must have space made for new blood which may have potential as opposed those who seem to have exhausted any. You invariably dont invite change by being the same.
  6. Tim I cant disagree with much but in reality its pandering to the masses...its not fairness
  7. but he PAID for them all up front
  8. in a nutshell hes as bloody delusional as the rest of them
  9. Youd think there might be enough though for civil actions !! Am still interested to what WorkSafe could do about all of this
  10. Yes very interesting isnt it. I sense Aussie sport is about to grow up big time..If WADA needs a show case to 'educate' all this is it. WADA wont give a rats about the status of Essendon, or the League itself it will only see wrongdoing and an opportunity to use its' big stick. Benny Boy will be under no misgivings as to what he needs to do upon his return and if he doesnt do it, WADA will and Benny will be out of a job. The curiosities.. How far will WADA go with penalising the players ? I cant cant see much change out of 2years reduced to 1 personally. The players have not helped themselves in all of this. The AFLPA hasnt helped anyone and only seem to be unwittingly aiding Essendon. The Club has displayed callous disregard for just about everything. Hard to predict the outcome as no real precedent. In the great scheme of things this is an opportunity on a plate for WADA. its potential as a deterrent on a global scale is possibly far too tempting to ignore. Why would it care about any collateral damage in little ol' Oz if it could send a HUGE message back around the world that its serious about all of this. I hope it does. Why should any sporting entity think it might escape the wrath in its entirety only because its deemed integral to some competition ? Maybe this is the great wake up needed. Maybe Essendon do need to be vanquished, offered up as the sacrifice to show that you cant hide behind anything. What if Essendon is belted out of existence ? Well a gap can be filled by another team ( of sorts ) but in and of itself that ought not be any consideration in determining the fate of such heinous actions by a club towards its players. WADA also need to remind the world there is NO...absolutely NO excuse for not being responsible for yourself in sport. WADA may well go the distance(COAIS) if ASADA cant bring itself to do whats needed.
  11. Come Luke....Come to the Bark side !!!
  12. I think , possibility the great undoing o Essendon in all of this might be a simple failure to adhere to detail. If the waiver the lads signed had referred to Thymomodulin and not Thymosin they might have been able themselves to asume plausible deniability ( even if they knew otherwise ). There is NO good ( allowed ) version of Thymosin. It can ONLY really refer to TB4. By thinking to" accidentally" forget to type Beta 4 they thought they could pull one over the eyes of any with an interest to know . In reality it lit up in lights the real culprit. The cheating bastards have tripped themselves up...how poetic.
  13. I know... by a miracle something fell onto the screen..
  14. Witness Shane Charter promised no human use of peptide at Essendon ( The Australian , if yo can get to it..lol ) if not ..... From the teary keyboard of Chip....... "THE Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority’s star witness in the case against 34 current and former Essendon footballers gave a written assurance that no peptides imported from a Chinese biochemical company would be used on people. Vincent Xu, the global sales manager of GL Biochem, one of the world’s largest suppliers of peptides, has revealed to The Australian the details of his dealings with Shane Charter, a self-styled fitness and anti-ageing consultant at the centre of the Essendon supplements saga. Mr Xu said that when Mr Charter came to Shanghai in November 2011 to visit his sprawling, biochemical manufacturing plant, he claimed to be the representative of a pharmaceutical company looking to buy peptides for research work. Mr Xu provided Mr Charter with samples of various peptides, including the banned substance Thymosin Beta 4. When Mr Charter had subsequently placed an order to import a larger quantity of peptides, he was asked to provide a written undertaking that they were not intended for human use." This strikes me as no more than plausible deniability for the shonky Chinese outfit.. Chip continues his sad commentary ..... "In a blow to the defence case of the AFL players, Mr Xu said the only Thymosin peptide supplied by GL Biochem to Mr Charter was Thymosin Beta 4. “The Thymosin we synthesis (sic) and supply always refers to Thymosin Beta 4,’’ he said. “The peptide products (such as Thymosin Beta 4) are for research use only, not for human use. We sold our peptide products to Shane Charter after he signed the non-human-use agreement.’’ I've bolded the TB4.....because it's fun to do that "A copy of Mr Charter’s undertaking to GL Biochem — signed and dated December 8, 2011 — holds Mr Charter responsible for the “improper use’’ of peptides by himself or a third party. “The product outsourced to your company will not be directly applied for usage on human body without appropriate requirements satisfied,’’ the undertaking reads. “And precautionary measures, if applicable, will be adopted to ensure that the product will not be used improperly by third party.’’ Mr Xu said the undertaking was required of all GL Biochem customers to prevent the proliferation of peptides on lucrative black markets around the world. ASADA alleges that the Thymosin Beta 4 bought by Mr Charter from GL Biochem was administered to Essendon players during the 2012 AFL season by sports scientist Stephen Dank. Mr Dank is separately accused by ASADA of administering, possessing and trafficking in a banned substance at Essendon and the Gold Coast and covering up its use. Mr Charter co-operated with ASADA’s probe into Essendon, giving its investigators extensive testimony and documents about his dealings with GL Biochem, Mr Dank and compounding pharmacist Nima Alavi. It is understood Mr Charter is still deciding whether to appear as a witness in the case — and subject himself to cross-examination by lawyers representing the 34 players — when the AFL convenes an anti-doping tribunal to hear and determine the charges. The long-running case could be heard before the end of this year. Mr Charter is due before the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday to answer criminal charges of trafficking in and possessing steroids and possessing human growth hormone and other Schedule 4 poisons. He has previously served two years’ jail for importing a commercial quantify of pseudoephedrine, a precursor to methamphetamine. Mr Charter met his lawyers this week to discuss whether appearing as a witness in the ASADA case would put him at risk of self-incrimination. The current criminal proceedings against him, the result of a sting operation last year by Victoria Police detectives from the anti-gangland Purana taskforce, are not related to the Essendon case. Mr Charter declined on legal advice to respond to questions provided by The Australian. The ASADA case is heavily reliant on Mr Charter, despite him having no direct knowledge or involvement in Essendon’s 2012 season supplements program. According to ASADA’s summary of evidence provided to lawyers acting for the players, Thymosin Beta 4 imported by Mr Charter was compounded by Mr Alavi and provided to Mr Dank. Mr Alavi’s evidence is that, in January 2012, he compounded a Thymosin peptide from raw materials imported by Mr Charter but does not know for certain whether the substance was Thymosin Beta 4 or a permitted form of Thymosin. He told ASADA he gave Mr Dank the Thymosin and a banned peptide, Hexarelin, in 10ml, clear glass vials for testing and did not see the peptides again. What happened next is unclear. Mr Dank has refused to be interviewed by ASADA but maintains that the Thymosin and Hexarelin compounded by Mr Alavi were neither intended for use nor used at Essendon. He told Mr Alavi the peptides were ruined by sun exposure and destroyed." Murky murky murky ........ "ASADA must prove to comfortable satisfaction that Essendon players were administered with Thymosin Beta 4. " You know what Chip...I think it just did !!!!!!!!! "The case is circumstantial, ( Yes Chip.....but that's quite ok and allowable ol' chap ) constructed around four principle elements: Mr Charter’s evidence that he imported raw materials for the banned peptide; correspondence between Mr Charter, Mr Alavi and Mr Dank when Mr Dank was employed at Essendon about how to prepare and administer Thymosin Beta 4; consent forms signed by Essendon players who agreed to be injected with a form of Thymosin; and player testimony about receiving subcutaneous injections from Mr Dank in the stomach. Essendon insists its players were administered Thymomodulin, a permitted Thymosin peptide, and not Thymosin Beta 4. The players vary greatly in their recollections of what they were administered." Not looking good is it Chip ???? T
  15. seems pick 1's often have flaws !!! Theyre only human
  16. I for obe cant accept its just sheer luck here. Blues do a deal with Etihad and later dont like it so much. Ironically the deal was with Collins.. They want to play at the G more. There wish granted. They play crap but still get a look in to prime time and fta telly. ..yeah...all just dumb luck We have to play this game. We nned someone at the AFL whos a Dee.
  17. anyhoos....word has it some of the lads are keen and are back into it already. thoughts ??
  18. dunno...ask him...lol
  19. keep up. JR ..lol its Saty reincarnated
  20. can read this..sorry Bin...can't find your link to work. re the above link I find this interesting: "But it is my job as the head of the Players Association to demand a safe workplace for our players - this is the most basic of rights that our players should be able to expect" Marvelous sentiment and quite correct, but having uttered it did nothing to follow up...just stood at arms distance. if you really meant it and suspected something wasn't quite right you'd be high tailing it down to WorkSafe and complaining irregardless of whatever the League or Essendon thought or said as neither are above the law and WorkSafe IS the law.
  21. You know I share this view Old..as we have before Should he never take the field again I dont hink it will be because he has ideas elsewhere or otherwise but simply because his foot fails him. I'd love to see season 2 version Trengove out there and Im sure he does too, but , like yourself I harbour misgivings about that foot. it not only has to come good it has to endure AFL footy...week in week out. I wonder at what point you have to think...is it worth it...??
  22. I'll be back says Jack ""LUCKLESS Melbourne midfielder Jack Trengove has full confidence he can return from his latest bout of foot surgery, but he concedes he is unlikely to play in 2015."" Might be just reading tea leaves that arent there but it sounds like the sort of thing thats said before they put you out to pasture for a year ( i.e rookie list ) or may be nothing
  23. Bin...point me to where they got up in arms about it...like you know...back when it first got daylight. Or when the AFL advised Golden boy etc. They're riding coat-tails !! A bit me too , me too...yeah ...what he said etc.
  24. Maybe not...I've been there too. Nothing like being interviewed by some fresh out of nappies type that "think" they know it all coz they've got this piece of paper that says so. Then you have some of us older ones who know that much, we actually realise we know very litttle. But this is for a whole different thread I suspect..... just thought Id say I know where TDI is coming from.
