Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Why...are they special ? Im sure the thousands od other sportspeople and athletes dont reckon so.Maybe it THEY who need to be more respectful. ..of the rules and their obligations ? -
But GRRM arent nearly all state league clubs affiliated ? Just saying.. I.e some mentoring and involvement possible but a little arms length id agree. But youd tighten up your recruitment by a mile. I'm not sure as to perfect ideal but I think a finessing of something existing would be better and more workable rather than another competition with its associated vagaries teething and admin problems. Lifting the age is the goal...the rest a road to design.

The NFL doesnt oay for the College syytem or its football . Why should the AFL ? A separate u21 is also a folly for mine as youre still essentially drafting all the same kids...its just a peculiar incubation for them...and for what ? Im not sure nor convinced of and meaningful benefit. There alrwady exists a suitable structural level. As noted before...the VFL..SANFL..WAFL are all fine for the purposes of seeing these same kids but playing real footy..I.e tagging and heavier accountability. Make it they need to be 19 yo at say the end of june of the year of the draft. Itd add 18 months to the current cutoff.. could be all anyone needs.

Good post VG not sure macca. If you were to change eligibilty by say 18 mnths It would sort a few out as to real suitability to the elite level. I think theyd benefit from being more mature. 18yo are notorious as thinkers etc lol. Theyd all be past school concerns as a bonus. I wouldnt think many would be lost to other sports snd if a few then so be it. We know TAC etc is a false guide as its a impure form of the game. Allowing recruitment to see them in real world footy even at sanfl wafl vfl etc will save a lot of heartache. I like the idea. Has much merit.

Keep in mind fanboy Pierek in reality knows jack shlt. A few of his ilk are reinventing their prose to seem legit. I can see no way that the players could get away with under a year...and that from their hearing date. All delays are the cause of the club or players reps. No discount for that. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRENDAN McCARTNEY

Was exactly my thinking when he was chopped. Same as well regards...yeah, but, what are the chances. Suddenly Stone retires ( curious timing that ) and now maybe Macca to Melbourne. We ARE such a different club now All the ducks in a row now just need it all to rub off on the players. An interesting development -
I dont think you were wrong at all re Nev. He WAS all of that. A rocket up him and he awoke. Good on him and good for us. Tappy should be a gun. Wont hold breath though

sorry mate but this epitomises the illogical statement. They can and only will be what they are. One is blacmange and overly paid. Hardly with us long enough ( thankgod ) to worry over. The other an injury hampered career....and thats our fault ? Neither are stars and thats their lot.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
beelzebub replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Bombers leap from frying pan, beware fireI 'm reminded by the following as to one very good reason the EFC would be petrified of any players actually be found "guilty" as opposed a no-fault deal... "The fact that the reissued "show cause" notices have been painstakingly tailored to the circumstances of each player suggests that the charges also would have to be heard one-by-one. This matters more than might be supposed. Under the WADA code, if two more more players from one team are found guilty of a doping violation, the ruling body "shall" impose sanctions on the team. It would not be enough for the AFL to say that it already had punished the Bombers by expelling them from last year's finals. That was not because of proven doping violations, but for sloppy governance." It's a point that seems to have been conveniently left alone by the fanboy circus element of the media. Little and Co will have been very aware of this part and probably explains their 'win at all costs" attitude. They haven't , and won't , win. All eyes are cast towards the players but the Club will be smacked big time is my thinking. The AFL may well have contingency plans regards players and Essendon being able to put a team on the paddock, but the AFL will be stymied if WADA turns around and places a ban on the TEAM also. There are elements to all of this also that only serve to highlight how amateurish and contradictory is the stance that the AFL itself holds within the framework it signed on with WADA. -
Billy...yet strangely anyone we DO pick up in the draft has about a 1000% better chance of actually playing for us in 15 ( at least ) Re our picks...you would only ever use you LAST picks to lift a rookie 53 will become live...not 83

ASADA basically telling the AFLPA to ... [censored] A return of fire with passion from Ben and the boys (and girls). The AFLPA clearly don't get it ... never have, they're blinkered, conflicted and essentially ignorant. I'd be worried as a parent, they're fwits. -
