Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
beelzebub replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
why.. I think 1 year suspensions are coming... and maybe backdated to the original issue of SCN's. I dont think WADA will accept anything but......if it sneaks over into 2015 ..lookout....double bango !! An element about all of this is the continued and systemic use ( abuse ) . its not a "once" off event as WADA call it.. WADAs case sits upon the alignment of Essendons use of 'something' with the known pattern of implementation of TB4 (protocol) By default it jumps beyond a single event. If somehow a few players can persist with the "I'm a a fwit , didn't know what i was being jabbed with" line they may actually get off lighter ( nominally ) than anyone who lets slip they had an inkling as that's akin to being a little bit dead /pregnant etc. You knew a little...you knew !!. As I understand it the Sharks indiscretions were more one off in nature and this is why their penalties didn't start off so large. They got off lightly..Wont happen this time. Keep poking the bear lads..... -
just the glasses take years off !!

ahhh here lays the interest for moi. The AFL are really Amateurs here. They have been trying to play both ends against the middle in the hope that the impact to the league/fixture/bottom line is mitigated. They think they are the big boys in town but are about to be shown a lesson. AFL have been focusing on the players...WADA still has ability to king hit a TEAM. Albeit it is a bit of brave new world here as to how you punish a team in this context but its something no one seems to be talking about and I find that odd. 11.2 Consequences for Team Sports If more than two members of a team in a Team Sport are found to have committed an anti-doping rule violation during an Event Period, the ruling body of the Event shall impose an appropriate sanction on the team (e.g., loss of points, Disqualification from a Competition or Event, or other sanction) in addition to any Consequences imposed upon the individual Athletes committing the anti-doping rule violation. 11.3 Event Ruling Body May Establish Stricter Consequences for Team Sports The ruling body for an Event may elect to establish rules for the Event which impose Consequences for Team Sports stricter than those in Article 11.2 for purposes of the Event. If the CLUB is allowed to field a team in some shape and form I have an inkling those banned will be out for the year...or better part of. -
missing the point...Roos understands how Eade thinks.. he also is very observant of the game. He'll be able to interpret it as possibly Eade develops the new Suns plan.
-
What occurs to me is why should we broadcast out particular intentions to anyone.

You do know of course all isnt often as suggested. Need to apply the "Roos speak filter"

Actually all jokes and pings aside Id be very interested in the view of an informed Essendon supporter.. Calling Ash....... thoughts?? -
yes and no They'll be far from accomplished as to the new game plan so early in the season. Roos will have a fair idea as to Rockets ideas !!!
-
NO...not really If as they say footy works top down then we've now got ( with the Beatle aboard ) a chance to get some of the existing talent up to speed. Thats a big positive for mine. Have to see if hes a banana advocate though first before getting too carried away. I dont think this years high picks will be stuff ups OD. Might actually get some decent footy out of them. Again...we'll wait and see.

Monoccular.. I believe the contingency plan via the AFL is to allow the Bombers to lift all Rookies and grab from their VFL team to fill the gaps. I'm seriously expecting the ban to force this for more than a month or two. Bombers will be fodder in 2015....Can't wait Will be VERY hard for the decent Bomber fan to stomach let alone watch. -

Essendon cant be so choosey currently. NO ONE wants to go there. Only the lure of outrageous money tempts the few, one might say...the Needy ?? -

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRENDAN McCARTNEY
beelzebub replied to kurtneverdied's topic in Melbourne Demons
An element to all of these recent appointments I admire is firstly how the club identified who they wanted( or very short list ) then went about the procurement of the intended. We hardly saw any thing leaked. The media had no chance to fabricate a storm of sensationalist rubbish that might paint us as this or that, no we just got the job done and came up smiling. Compare this to all the hullabaloo last year. The uncertainty , the desperation that was attributed to the club. It may have helped having our northern suburban lot attracting so much attention but then I can only imagine their fanboys would be keen as mustard to find something on another club they could sink their hooks into and yet we sailed along stealthily. Takes no Rhode Scholar to understand development doesn't seem to have been something we've mastered of late. So much attributed to our poor standing is attributed to the inability to extract the best out of our list ( we'll leave alone the idea that the selection of said list left much to e desired also, for the moment ) , that much development has gone begging but for the want of decent, well, developers. Brendan McCartney appears that last piece to a puzzle, but a very important piece. This bloke has had a lot of success in bringing the kids on, getting them to step up and into the game as bonefide players. Together with this years likely influx we will have a fair number of lads who can benefit from the Macca influence. There are the noobs but a couple of young 20's lads might benefit also. We can only hope. Macca has that happy knack of getting players to respond and lift. Those entrenched in their ways are a different ilk but fortunately we have others in charge whose position allows them to help purge the club of such impediment. This is really quite an inspired appointment and I applaud Brendan for seeing the opportunity as it is, to help create a very good team. Shame he doesn't start til Feb but looking at it longer picture wise I sense we'll benefit greatly from the McCartney influence. It'll be great....yeahh !!! -

as we are with our new development coach. Thats not a disguised go at anyone...just a simple statement of fact. Essendon isnt proving a particularly desirable destination for a lot of people. -

forgot about that... Is quite interesting certainly. Essendon are epitomising the notion of 'Strangelands"
