They operate differently Melbourne can always use more money...but as I noted earlier there ARE ceilings on what is able to be spent in various regards..Unlimited funds for selling the name is a furphy then...and we'd lose OUR identity to boot.. Thats never up for grabs personally I think theres a lot of potential in using our name "Melbourne " better. Understand the op but for mine has an error in premise. Infinite funds cant work for us. There is the salary cap as well as total payments etc in fd being ceilinged ! The German example is a pear...the AFL ...apples. Some more and lasting sponsorship would provide one very real thing i grant, the ability to remove their unwarranted infuence and tell them (Gills dills ) to go @#$! themselves !! and take the white jumpers to wipe their.... Garnering more money is a true goal but abdication of name ? No.

Thanks Go Dees for a considered and informative reply Yes I was serious. I fully acknowledge that this is a different entity now performing as the MFC Women's Team. I certainly didn't think we'd maintain our dominance but given our provenance in regard to this area of the game I thought that we would have built a team somewhat more potent. Carlton's been at it for 5 mins ( relatively) and they seem to have gone about things differently. We fell away in the last which points to fitness. Whilst our lads improve year to year ..the lasses aren't availed of this doctrine of training ? I know it's only a practice match but they already seem behind the eight ball . WIll be interesting to see how they apply any lessons learnt in the upcoming 1st round . go Dees

Saty,I like many , appreciate yours and others reporting. It goes to the landscape of the canvas. I can also understand the comments by VP and WB in so far as this is more possibly about the fabric of the canvas. Things I want to hear are the like of 'improvements' , fewer in rehab= more preseasons completed. I like greater intensities, harder contesting. The minutae wont matter to me but is obviously vital to the play. We all take whats suits. No one right way.
