Thanks H.. Will be watching this game with a lot of interest. I agree and think CC is a marvellous adition to the club.. indeed I think there is much in place that warrants real optimism..just not much will manifest overnight. I think its great that the stawlwarts are geeing the kids up. Just concerns me they arent doing themsleves much justice on the turf. We'd all like result today..or at latest tomorow.. many just dont get it that it will be years rather than weeks until it all "clicks"..well at least Clicks properly. Im sure some want Bails to crack it.. to give a public lashing ...but really thats the last thing we want.. the coach to show anything but resolute steadfastness. we're in the middle of a "quiet storm"... and we need to ride it out. I stil have the mental image of him turnig Goddard...( no slouch ) inside out and upside down.. . Marid reminds me of a martial arts practicioner.. He uses what he has ..he leverages. . Be warned folks. Dont confuse touches ( stats) with effectiveness, not that you can other than invariably being there or watching the game. Take note of when and how touches are garnered. We are a champion club of reent times at accumulating players...that are all promise ..little result. This can be through injury , attitude or incorrect original appraisal.

Bailey is confident ( long term ) and Connolly is on record as wanting his current job not the coaches. Other than the terrible performances of players to date I dont see a problem above the management line>

Youre very much on the money there Sylvinator I feel. The goal ought to be to maixmise what value any player is.. This has only one of two connotation going forward. They are either keepers. Ther are this if they show potential or are absolute requirements going forward into a competitive team in say 2-3 years time. OR.. they have market value. We have a very very poor record at making use of an assett. Many players have been kept far too long. If we take 2-3 years as the measure of this team then who really of the (and I use this very loosely ) upper echelon are still going to be at their ripest at that time...not now...then ?? Very few of the so called older mob will be of use then. Id clear near most of the team ( over 26) if possible if tradable. Id put up Green, Bruce.. Carrolll ( if any takers ).. put up Miller (again !!! ) Id even put up Beamer.. ppl we're unlikely to ever see the player he migh tbe..just reality. Doubt we'd have takers for Wheats..( and he's a littel useful ) . Id also put up the problem children.. let them be someone elses problem !! Take what you can get..and go spend them credits on a team of the future. far too much sentimentality at Melbourne.. MFc need to be ruthless...no holes barred..ruthless Time to trade.. ..not sell the farm...just give it a good plough!!

Perspective : You employ a Builder to put together that wonderful house youve always wanted. You know the ground's a bit shakey and much is necessary before you really get stuck into it. We all know here that there are two schools of thought re Miller one, he is a trier..a misunderstood and underappreciated player wom given 'time' will evolve into a 'really useful" player.. and two he is a half way decent VFL player..who magicly fell out of a tardis and now wears a Melbourne jumper for reasons no one is too sure about!!
